Lush Celestial Face Moisturizer Review [UPDATED]

Hey loves!

I’ve been gone for a while and haven’t posted any beauty reviews. I didn’t plan on doing one this week because I wanted to ease back into blogging, but…this review was pretty much ready to be posted so I decided why not? 🙂

This was actually one of my very first beauty review when I started my blog. I wanted to update this review because I noticed a difference when I used it, as well as when the seasons changed.

So let’s get on with what most of you are waiting for. 🙂

(I apologize for the lack of pictures in this post, I didn’t have time to retake.)

  • Price: $25.95
  • Size: 1.5 oz

Product Description from Lush:

Divine blend for sensitive skin

Redness. Stinging. Irritation. Sound familiar? Having sensitive skin can be incredibly frustrating (even painful!), which is why we invented our most gentle moisturizer, Celestial. With its creamy cocoa butter base, Celestial effectively moisturizes without irritating troubled skin. We blend vanilla water to help the skin retain its moisture with hydrating almond milk and fresh dove orchid extract to keep delicate skin in soft, glowing condition. Celestial also doubles as a fantastically softening night cream for all skin types.

Despite the fact that this moisturizer is marketed for sensitive skin types, it can be used on all skin types as well. I don’t have incredibly sensitive skin, but I have found that my cheeks can get irritated and can sting if I’m too harsh when I wash my face (this usually happens when I’m in a hurry).

This moisturizer is SO lightweight! It feels super soft on your skin, and it absorbs quickly too. That’s one of the reasons I got it. The store employee told me it could be used under makeup as well due to its lightness.

The moisturizer goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel oily. Also, you really don’t need a lot of it. It’s an amazing moisturizer that can be used daily or as a night cream.

How it worked for me:

I bought this moisturizer back in September, when it was still fairly warm. It worked so well for me, kept my skin moisturized throughout the day. When the seasons changed and it got colder, of course I got dry winter skin. I found that the moisturizer wasn’t doing much for my dry winter spots so I got a thicker moisturizer. As the weather is getting warmer again, and my skin is not as dry anymore from winter, I can start using this moisturizer again.

  • Lightweight
  • Can be used under makeup
  • Smells wonderful!
  • A little bit goes a long way
  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • For all skin types

  • A bit expensive for me (but this isn’t a con)

It’s a great moisturizer. More high-end and pricey than I’d like it to be, but it worked. I love that it moisturized the skin in warm weather. However, it didn’t work as much for me during the cold winter season. I also like that it can be used for all skin types. I recommend it, but always be sure to ask the employees for a moisturizer that better suits your skin type.

    1. No kidding! I’m such a cheapo I’ve been looking for cheaper alternatives. Lol. It’s great but I wouldn’t use it that often because that would mean I’d run out fast and have to go out to buy another one, lol.
