Ulta Rose Gold Natural Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

Happy Friday dolls!

I apologize for the long wait for this review. I just really got burned out halfway through the week and I had to put school before the blog. Hopefully I did well on my quiz, won’t know until Tuesday. But anyway, let’s jump right into this review because it’s going to be a long one but a good one! šŸ™‚

This was my very first purchase from the Ulta brand and I’ve been using it for the past year or so. Keep reading to find out if I like it or not šŸ˜‰

** Fair Warning: this will be a long post! **

Product Description from Ulta:

Ulta’s Rose Gold Natural Eyeshadow Palette is a set of 12 universally flattering eyeshadow shades in matte, shimmer and glitter textures. Transform your eyes and give them definition with this palette of beautiful bronze hued shadows!

See ingredients and more at: Ulta.com

Packaging:

The packaging is simple cardboard with magnetic closure. I like that they keep their packaging the same throughout other palettes. The front is also partially see through and you can see most of the shades.

This palette also comes with an eyeshadow brush. I don’t use the brush as often but I think the quality is really good. It has soft bristles and I was able to blend the shades with it as well as use it to pack the shades on my lid.

Formula & Application:

Ok, so I LOVE this palette a lot. I use it all the time! The formula is so buttery smooth and decently pigmented. The shades are buildable and blendable which is nice as I like to make sure I fully blend them out before adding darker shades. They are all gorgeous and according to Ulta, they’re universally flattering.

As always there will be some fall out, but if you tap the excess off your brush, you won’t end up with eyeshadow in your under eye area. I love the range of shades and finishes this palette contains: mattes, shimmers, and glitter textures! It’s the perfect mix of shadows! I love how the top row has the shimmers and glitters and the bottom row has the mattes. I’m in love with matte shades so this palette was perfect for me!

Anyway, the shades are great quality. Buttery smooth as mentioned above. I didn’t notice any chalkiness from any of the shades and the glittery shades are not chunky. I was surprised when I used the darkest glitter shade (Dahlia) on my outer v to make a smokey eye look. It blended nicely and it wasn’t super glittery. I’d say these shades have a decent amount of glitter but it’s not overpowering. In my opinion, these shades can be used for everyday looks.

Swatches:

Let me break down the palette for you… (Note: swatches are without primer)

My favorites shades:

These shades are the ones I dip into the most. Champagne and Hopeless Romantic are always used on my lids. Breathless and Dessert are perfect transition shades while Sweetheart is concentrated into my outer v for more dimension and depth.

I would say the pigment isn’t completely consistent throughout the palette, but all the shades are so buttery smooth, it makes up for the lack of pigment in some shades. Regardless of that, I like that some of the shimmers are more sheer because it can tone down a look and make it more natural looking. Also, the glittery shades are NOT extremely glittery and crazy. I was able to use them on my crease to smoke out some looks.

Pros:

  • Buttery
  • Decent pigment
  • Blends easily
  • Long-lasting
  • Universally flattering
  • Wonderful range of mattes, shimmers and glitters
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • NONE!

I love this palette so much! Ever since the first time I used it I was hooked. The formula is amazing! Buttery smooth, pigmented, with the perfect amount of mattes, shimmers, and glitters!

    1. I’m not sure it’s considered Drugstore because it’s not sold everywhere, only at ulta (it’s their brand). but you can’t beat the quality of the shades for $20 šŸ™‚
Thanks for stopping by doll! šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! I just love all the shades! They’re all super gorgeous. I started playing around with orchid and using it on the outer v for depth and it makes the eye makeup look a little more cool toned. šŸ™‚ I really like it šŸ™‚ lol

  3. I love the look of ‘Champagne’, ‘Pink’, ‘Hopeless Romantic’, ‘Chandelier’ and ‘Dahlia’. It’s great that this palette has such a range of mattes and shimmers, perfect for all occasions. And the brush looks really good too, a lot of eyeshadow brushes that come with palettes don’t look such high quality! Great review X
