Hello again dolls!

I apologize for my absence, I’ve been focusing a lot on school and we also ran into a few problems this past weekend with our cars, etc, etc.. Stuff you guys don’t care about, lol! If you’re really curious I could always do a quick life update 🙂

But anyway, I’m here to review all the products I received in my April Ipsy bag! It’s my first month back in over a year and I enjoyed testing and discovering products again! 🙂 So let’s jump in!

Quick Product Description & Claims:

  • It’s in it for the long haul! This super long-wearing powder lasts from A.M. to after party.
  • The next-level formula can be used dry (like a traditional blush) or wet for even more pop.
  • Multitasker–this triple threat also works as an eyeshadow or highlighter.

Mini Product Review:

The ‘Rendezvous’ shade is “a classic, cool-toned, soft rose that looks amazing on all skin tones” according to Ipsy. On the pan it looked really scary, but upon swatching it, I realized it wasn’t as dark as I thought it would be. The formula is buttery soft and the blush melted into my skin nicely. I love how buildable it is– I can be as light-handed as I want and slowly build it up to preference.

Apparently it can be used wet as well, but I haven’t tried that yet. This blush also works as an eyeshadow or highlighter. As an eyeshadow it will work fine for me, but I think it may be a bit too dark for me to use as a highlighter.

Elizabeth Mott
Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter

ipsyApril2017_ElizabethMott

Quick Product Description & Claims:

  • This powder is ultra fine which means it’s totally layerable, so you can go for a subtle, daytime gleam or score a glow that can basically be seen from space.
  • Use it literally anywhere. To name just a few spots: along cheekbones, eyelids, down the bridge of your nose, along collar bones, and even down the front of your legs to add sheen and elongate.
  • It’s cruelty free!

Mini Product Review:

I used this product as both shadow and highlighter and I really liked the shade. It has a gold-ish undertone and I think it would be perfect for the summer because it would go really well with a bronzed look. This product is buttery smooth and not chunky. I like how it practically melted into my skin giving it a nice glow. This product is also pigmented and I like how versatile it is. And it’s cruelty free! Yasss!

defy & Inspire
Wear Resistant Nail Lacquer in Paradise Island

ipsyApril2017_defy&INSPIRE

Quick Product Description & Claims:

  • If spring were a nail polish, this would be it!
  • We lacquered up DIY-style and it didn’t chip for five days. Pretty major, no?
  • It’s the most flattering pedi shade ever because it balances out any redness on your feet.
  • The formula is created without harmful ingredients, but is still as shiny (or maybe even shinier) than all the others out there.

Mini Product Review:

So this was the perfect spring shade! I don’t have one like it in my collection so I was so stoked! The formula is UNREAL! It dried SUPER fast, I didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes to apply the second coat! It dried so fast even with a second coat that I didn’t have to worry about the polish smearing. I also love the shine, it’s not as shiny as others I’ve tried, but it’s perfect either way! I did not use a base coat or top coat and this polish DID NOT CHIP! Also, this formula is 5 Free! (No DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor).

Here are my results:

A week later and they still look pretty good!! I did end up adding another coat because a few nails did chip (through fault of my own) but I’m really loving this formula!

Mini Product Review:

I really liked this hair serum. It had a gentle, pleasant scent. I did notice that my hair appeared more moisturized, it felt softer and it had shine. I also loved that this hair serum is sulfate-free and is safe for color treated hair. It’s a nice addition to my haircare routine as I was only using coconut oil and argan oil.

ColourPop Cosmetics
Crème Gel Pencil in DTLA

ipsyApril2017_ColourPop

Quick Product Description & Claims:

  • The formula is super creamy, making application a total breeze without any tugging or pulling.
  • Our Creators use these babies for hundreds of crazy-cool eye looks (think: double winged, colored smoky, or negative space graphic).
  • Even if you’re not ready to go super advanced, you can pop this on your waterline or swipe it along your lashes to add instant dramz.
  • We wore this our bestie’s wedding, sobbed like a aby, and didn’t need to touch up.

Mini Product Review:

I got this creme gel liner in the shade DTLA, which is like a dark navy blue. The formula is so smooth and it glides easily onto my lower lashline (which is where I used it the most). I probably will try using it for winged liner (somehow) to see if the color is actually visible. I didn’t like this shade as much because it looked black on my lower lashline and I was hoping for a pop of color. However, the formula is great and I may end up looking into this line of gel liners.

  1. I lovee the colourpop liner color! Totally jelly that you got one. Bummer that the blue doesn’t really pop out. I’m debating getting one of their liners off their site but I may just stick with a brown since that’s my usual go to anyways! The nail polish is so good the color looks great on you too! I cannot wait to put it back on my nails again. I also love when they send products that duel as two different things….I think I’d love the eye shadow/highlighter but of course as a highligher! It looks like a pretty glowing shade! And I’m always down for a life lately kind of post! Vent to us! Hopefully mostly everything got sorted out though 🙂 Glad to see your name pop up on my reader feed though, I’ve missed ya! ❤

    1. I love the formula of the ColourPop liner as well! I just want brighter colors because I like to wear colorful looks during the summer 🙂
Ahh! The nail polish is one of my FAVES! I haven’t ever tried a polish like this one. I think what I like the most is that it dries SUPER fast! I’m always busy and can’t wait around for my nail polish to dry for hours, so this one was perfect. I’m still wearing it!
I’ll have to think about writing a short life update then 😉 and a few other things LOL.. Thanks love! ❤

    1. It’s a good welcome back to Ipsy for me lol. I knew they had those and it’s really rare when they send these brands, hopefully they send them out more often 🙂 Thanks for reading!

    1. You could always start with a cheap subscription, and if you like them, you could get the more expensive ones as they contain a bigger quantity and full sized products. 🙂
Yes the polish turned out to be my favorite! 🙂 lol

        1. There’s lots of subscriptions that cater to beauty, such as makeup and skincare. They also have lifestyle boxes and even a few for clothing. Just depends on what you’re into the most and how much you’re willing to pay monthly or quarterly.

  2. I’ve been seeing colourpop ‘pop’ up in subs quite a bit lately! Often in Ipsy this year, yet I’ve not received any in mine. I did just receive 2 in a new sub I subscribed to this month, which is nice, b/c I’m totally addicted to colourpop!!!

    1. Thank you, I’m trying to step my game up in my photography lol. And yes, the shade is so gorgeous! I don’t even want to wear a different shade. And the liner is so smooth! I think I do want more colors 🙂

    1. It did! And I’m usually working a lot with my hands (chores) I was very surprised that it didn’t chip as much. I have other nail polishes that chip within 3 days. This one will easily last you 5 days or more if you’re more careful than I am but I least it’s wear resistant despite your hobbies and chores lol.
