Influenster Origins My Perfect World VoxBox Review

Happy Wednesday dolls!

I’m finally getting around to reviewing the skincare samples I received in my Origins My Perfect World VoxBox. Not many people got picked to receive this box and I was so stoked that I was chosen because I’ve been wanting to try Origins for a long time.

A bigger group of people got invited to attend the Origins My Perfect World Launch Party at an Origins store near them, and I was one of them. I had so much fun even though it was a lot of waiting. I did my best to cover a lot of it in my Instagram stories,Ā  so if you follow me, you must have seen those stories when I went.

Anyway, let’s get on to the reviews of the skincare samples that I received!!

  • Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash
  • Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask
  • Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream
  • High Potency Night-a-Mins Enriched Renewal Cream
  • Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I have given my honest opinion.

Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

originsvoxbox_checksandbalances

This face wash is formulated with Broad Leaf Kelp Extract, Wheat Protein and Tourmaline (active ingredient) which discourages excess oil production and protects dry prone zones. And the scent is one of my favorites: bergamot, spearmint, and lavender. It’s one of the most refreshing scents ever.

I fell in love with the formula of this face wash the FIRST time I used it. It was sooo amazing! The formula felt super soft against my skin, and it had a gentle mild scent. The first couple of times I used it, I squeezed a lot of product out, so it helps to know that a little really goes a long way. The face wash is really frothy so you’ll be able to get your entire face and neck with such a small amount.

Recommended for: Dry / Normal / Oily

Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask

originsvoxbox_clearimprovements

This charcoal mask is formulated with bamboo charcoal that acts like a magnet and clears pores. It also has white China clay which absorbs environmental toxins and Lecithin which dissolves impurities.

This mask reminded me of Derma-e’s charcoal mask. However, I didn’t like this one as much, and because I have that one to compare it to, I think Derma-e’s is better. This one dried a bit too quick for my taste, and when I tried adding another layer, the product would smear and my mask looked really patchy. I wasn’t able to get an even layer on my face. I also didn’t feel like it purified my skin or cleared my pores as much as Derma-e’s mask did. If I hadn’t tried Derma-e first, I probably would have liked this one as is.

Even so, I still think you can reap the benefits if you have oily skin because this charcoal masks controls oil and aids in the fight against acne! šŸ™‚

Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream

originsvoxbox_ginzingeyecream

This eye cream is meant to brighten and depuff tired eyes. I have mixed feelings about this eye cream. For one, it took a while to absorb into my skin. Another reason was that it started to feel a little tacky as I was smoothing it underneath my eye area. The formula was nice and smooth when applied but I wasn’t feeling the tackiness. I have another eye cream that I like much better which doesn’t feel tacky and absorbs into my skin much quicker.

It’s really not a bad eye cream, I’m not giving it a bad review. In fact, I think the formula is really good and it holds up. The active ingredient, coffee, is often used in eye creams to reduce dark circles and puffiness. My eyes did look and feel refreshed the morning after I used it.

Best for: All skin types

High Potency Night-a-Mins Mineral Enriched Renewal Cream

originsvoxbox_nightamins

This night cream renews, refreshes and hydrates skin. It’s also fortified with Vitamins C, E and H, as well as minerals and moisture-rich replenishers.

I thought this night cream was among some of the best ones I’ve tried. It’s smooth and I felt like my skin absorbed it fast and well. My skin looked and felt fantastic every morning when I woke up. The active ingredient, orange, is most likely the culprit for my skin feeling hydrated, radiant, and refreshed.

Recommended for: Dry / Normal

Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

originsvoxbox_ginzingmoisturizer

This moisturizer is lightweight, oil-free, and its active ingredient, coffee, hydrates and makes my skin appear radiant. I also loved the scent of this moisturizer in the morning. Not only did it wake up my skin, it also woke up my senses. It smells wonderful and it absorbs into my skin fast. It was also perfect for wearing it underneath my makeup.

Recommended for: Dry / Normal / Oily

UPDATED: I almost forgot to include my night skincare routine video using these Origins samples.

I enjoyed testing these skincare samples. And I finally know why Origins is so hyped. I think my favorite products were the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash and the Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer. HOWEVER, despite Origins’s statement about their cruelty-free status, they’re not considered cruelty-free because they sell in China. That alone is enough for me to say I won’t purchase any full-size until that changes.

    1. Yeah, the charcoal mask was a complete no for me too lol. Ahh yeah! I hate that about brands! They have great products but aren’t cruelty free. šŸ˜£ at least people are being more conscious about that and more brands are gonna start wanting to be part of that. Of course lots of people still get fooled by other brands like MAC, who say they’re cruelty free but they’re really not since they still sell to China. One of the reasons I haven’t tried anything MAC lol.

      1. I love MAC and I so hate they aren’t CF. I’m going to continue to use what I have since I’ve paid for it, but I’m going to try to avoid repurchasing anything. They have such unique lipstick shades that I just get sucked in!

  2. I’ve gotten the Ginzing eye cream and the face wash in my Sephora kits before- So I’m currently using the Ginzing eye cream and I can’t really tell. I know that you’re not going to see the difference right away but I’ve been using it for a good month and I still am not even certain if it’s completely working. I still continue to use it regardless since I have it but what I do love about it is that I have such a tiny sample size and it’s lasted me all this time and still have a lot more of it to go. And I haven’t tried the face wash yet buttttt I was planning on it when I ran out of my current one, which I just did last night so I can’t wait to give it a try!

    1. Some eye creams take a while and I would think it also depends on how dark your circles are? Although I could be wrong. I agree that I also don’t know if it’s working. My eyes feel refreshed but my eye sometimes still look a little puffy lol
Let me know how you like the fave wash. I absolutely loved it!
