June 2017 Play! by Sephora Unboxing

I subscribed to Play! by Sephora! πŸ™‚

I was originally on their waitlist when they announced it and weren’t even nationwide yet. Then when the time came to subscribe, I couldn’t, as I had to save some money so I also unsubscribed from Ipsy and Birchbox. Now that I have Ipsy again, I felt like I missed having two subscription boxes every month, and because I no longer like Birchbox anymore, this one seemed like a good fit and was well within my price range, lol.

I did my very first unboxing video for this subscription, so you can watch it or read below, whichever you prefer. πŸ™‚

Watch June 2017 Play! by Sephora Unboxing video:

Theme: Your Summer Starters

I’m not a fan of the design and the bag feels pretty cheap and rough, but I do like the blue ribbon for opening and closing the bag. I’ve always liked these sort of bags and even though they’re nothing like the makeup bags that Ipsy gives, I have no doubt that they will come in handy.

Bag Contents:

  • Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino and Avocado Leave-In Defining Creme
  • Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It (H)Air Styler
  • Tarte Tarteguard 20 Tinted Moisturizer in Light
  • Derek Lam 10 Crosby Blackout Perfume Sampler
  • Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in K-Dub
  • Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads Self-Tanner for Face

First Impressions:

I’m really excited to try out several of these products. I thought this bag was a good mix of skincare, haircare and makeup. I don’t have high hopes for the Briogeo Curl Charisma, for the simple fact that my hair isn’t curly, but I’m sure the formula itself is great. I also don’t think the Tarteguard 20 Tinted Moisturizer will be my shade (I’ve gotten tan already) but if I like it enough, I may try the full size. Super stoked about the KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, even though I feel like I may not like the shade as much, but we will see. Usually lip shades are much different on the lips than on swatches.

I’m giving away these self-tanning pads to anyone who wants them because I don’t want or need them. I get a tan in the summer and I’m not the type of person who uses self-tanning products anyway, not even during winter. So if you want them, make sure you go to my Contact page, and fill out the form. I have three of these samples, so depending on how many people want them, I will either give them away together, or one per person. First come, first serve!

P.S. I’m only mentioning this here because I want my readers to have first dibs! πŸ™‚

P.P.S. I can only ship to US, sorry my dolls!

    1. I just figured I would give it away because I’m definitely NOT even going to try them out. And I know a lot of people like to self-tan so, hopefully they go to a new home lol. πŸ™‚

  1. The sephora play is probably my favorite subscription! But I agree with the whole bag thing, it’s just meh. Last month they gave a kind of cool one so there’s hope for future pouches ha. That Kat Von D color is wild, I bet for sure you’ll definitely be able to rock it. I’m dying to see it on or at least a swatch of it! I got a deeper purpley-pink shade and although I lovedd the formula the color just wasn’t for me *wah* you win some you lose some. If it was the winter, I think I would for sure take the tanning packets but come the summer time I get nervous of getting too dark lol

    1. I hope I like it just as much lol. I loved the products I got this month and I hope next month is just as good! πŸ™‚
I have yet to try the liquid lipstick yet but I plan on playing with some makeup this week for an upcoming post next month so we’ll see what I get out of it LOL!
And if no one emails me about these tanning pads I’ll just send them to you and you can keep them until winter comes back around πŸ™‚
