June 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag Review + Swatches

Happy Wednesday!

I am going to do my best to get back on track and get beauty reviews out on Wednesdays again. Perhaps I will have to do a couple reviews a week to get most of them out since I have missed a couple weeks of reviews. Anyway, today I’m just doing mini reviews of all the products I received in my June 2017 Ipsy bag.

Mini Product Review:

Anyone who saw my video saw me testing this and how I was genuinely shocked  at how well the oil worked for me. I have very frizzy hair so I rely on various hair oils, treatments, shampoo and conditioners. Even though the oil is slightly more runny than I’m used to (for a hair oil), I can let it slide because it smells great and performs great. Not to mention that it doubles as a heat protectant for anyone who uses heat tools regularly.

theBalm Cosmetics

Mini Product Review:

In the pan this blush looked scary, but this shade actually looks gorgeous on all skin tones. So when I put this blush on my cheeks for the very first time, I was blown away at how it looked on me. I could probably use it for Autumn. It also doubles as an eyeshadow, and I love that many of theBalm’s powders double as blushes, highlighters, or eyeshadow. This blush was super blendable and long-lasting that there’s no doubt in my mind that it will perform just as great on the eyes.

City Color Cosmetics
Shimmer Shadow in Cheers to Life

Mini Product Review:

This shade is perfect for bronzy, summer looks. It blends nicely as well and is very pigmented for a shimmer shadow. I also loved how the light reflected off the shimmer, it was gorgeous! The shade I received looks good on all skin tones. I thought it lasted a decent amount time in my eyes, and I didn’t notice any creasing.

Skone Cosmetics
Insanely Intense Tatooed Waterproof Eyeliner

Quick Description & Claims:

  • Lives up to its name
  • Precise, felt tip liner creates cat eyes and graphic looks super easy
  • Transfer proof/Waterproof
  • Cruelty-free

Mini Product Review:

I liked how precise this eyeliner was, and the felt tip liner was perfect for creating a sharp wing. Only thing: tip isn’t flexible so I had a hard time drawing the wing from the outer corner of my eye to the inner corner. I did get used to using it and it’s a really good eyeliner. While I don’t care much for waterproof anything, this one is and it’s also transfer-proof.

NYX Cosmetics
Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle in Cocoa Bean

Mini Product Review:

This was my favorite product from this month’s bag and it even inspired the #BeautiesOnFire Monochromatic MOTD. It gave a nice little wash of color to my cheeks and I was surprised at how blendable it was. The formula is also lightweight so it felt very comfortable on the lips. This shade is also good for contouring!

I’m not a fan of products like these (cheek and lip tints, for example) but this one blew me away! I don’t necessarily think I will try other products like this, but I really like this one and may purchase a full size later. I loved it so much that it literally made it into my spring favorites even though I only got to use it for two weeks. That’s how you know a product is really good! LOL.

Product Swatches:

Overall, June’s bag was full of items that worked well for me and they were all cruelty-free, which is a very exciting thing to me. Also, several of these products look good on all skin tones and are multi-use. This bag far exceeded my expectations and I’m extremely happy with every single item this month.

  1. I got that same The Balm blush and thought the same thing….SCARY! I still haven’t tried it yet but I knew I loved the last Balm blush I got, but after seeing your swatch of it, its completely different than I expected. It’s a really pretty tone and now I gotta try it haha I was actually going to give it away but I’m glad I held off. The liner is soooo bittersweet, just like you said, it makes the perfect wing but it’s so hard to color in because its not flexible at all. The first time I tried it I drew out the wing and colored it in with the NYX liner lol

    1. Omg I’m glad you didn’t. You definitely need to try it. Yet another product in this month’s bag that looks great on all skin tones!
I tried that too but I also noticed the consistency was different on both. Also, the nyx liner seemed much more black than the Skone one. Maybe I did it wrong or maybe I layered it, but the Skone liner looked a little shiny next to the nyx liner. Unless it was my eyeshadow underneath that made it look as such. I’ll have to do a comparison review sometime soon.
