Hello again!
I know I haven’t been as active lately. I do have guests at my home for the next two weeks or so, but I have scheduled a few posts in advance.
Anyway, I finally have gathered my thoughts on July’s Play! by Sephora box! 🙂 So keep on reading to find out what I think of each one! 🙂
Bag Contents:
- IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara
- Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray
- BareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag
- Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment
- Milk Makeup Cooling Water (Stick)
- Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
A quick reminder that I won’t be reviewing IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara because I have other mascaras I need to use up before opening it.
P.S. I apologize in advance for photo quality, the haze outside from forest fires made the glow a little yellow and my light didn’t make things better. Still working on better lighting!
Briogeo
Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray
Quick Description & Claims:
An ultra-light, leave-in conditioning spray that brings hydration and moisture to locks without weighing them down.
Key benefits:
- Adds softness and shine
- Diminishes frizz
- Shields from heat and UV rays
Mini Product Review:
I received a sample of this in my May 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag so I’ve already reviewed it, and don’t feel the need to re-write the same thing. Let’s just say I really love it and I’m stoked to have a second one!
Milk Makeup
Cooling Water Stick
Quick Description & Claims:
De-puff eyes in an instant and hydrate skin with this convenient gel stick. Infused with seawater to soothe skin and caffeine to support micro-circulation, the vegan Cooling Water instantly energizes and restores glow.
Solutions for:
- Dryness
- Dullness and uneven texture
- Puffiness
Mini Product Review:
I don’t know why I expected this to be sort of like a moisturizer, it totally isn’t. I didn’t really notice any difference in my skin after using this, but it felt cooling and nice during hot days. My skin also absorbed it pretty quickly.
I do think that a product like this goes to waste fairly quickly, I would rather have a lightweight cream and/or spray, just my own personal opinion. It’s not however a bad product.
Atelier Cologne
Orange Sanguine
Quick Description & Claims:
Orange Sanguine, a zesty and energizing burst of crushed ripe fruit, plays off sweet blood orange juice against bitter orange peel and sensual notes of geranium. This cologne brings to mind relaxed mornings, sunrises, and soft sea breezes.
Notes:
Blood Orange, Bitter Orange, Jasmine, Geranium, Amber Woods, Tonka Beans, Sandalwood.
Style:
Zesty. Energizing. Playful.
Mini Product Review:
I thought this cologne was pretty subtle/mild. I didn’t feel an energizing burst, instead it felt very calming and soothing to me. Not my favorite cologne, but it wasn’t that bad either. I’m liking the fact that this subscription box allows me to sample different high-end colognes and perfumes.
BareMinerals
GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag
Quick Description & Claims:
Creamy, velvety, gliding on without any pull, this liquid lipstick is available in 20 intensely-pigmented, kissable shades that are primer-infused and packed with moisturizing ingredients that counteract dryness.
GEN NUDE was developed for all skin and lip tones. It features blanked-out beige to rich caramelized blackberry, balmy shine to high gloss sheen, and soft satin to creamy full coverage matte—endless mineral-infused options, because no one nudes the same. Just blend and layer the colors and finishes for infinite ways to go nude.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates
Mini Product Review:
I was so happy to receive a BareMinerals lippie. The shade is a blushing mauve and it’s soo gorgeous, it’s perfect for both summer and autumn season! One of my favorite nudes to be honest!
Anyway, I love how pigmented it is and that it is primer infused and formulated with moisturizing ingredients. It felt lightweight on my lips and I didn’t note any dryness or feathering.
This line was developed for all skin tones, so you could literally find your perfect nude shade in this line! Even though it has pink undertones, it still fits me soo well, but I bet I could find another one that will fit me even better! I will definitely be on the lookout for the rest of this line, I would love to have another shade!

Mini Product Review:
I LOOOOVE charcoal masks so imagine my excitement when I pulled this one out of my bag! 😀 This little product made July’s box totally worth it!
The product glides smoothly on the skin during application and doesn’t dry too fast. However, I still recommend applying it in sections to apply it evenly. My skin feels so soft and smooth after washing off, I can’t believe the softness!! My face feels cleansed down to the pore, and my skin feels moisturized as well.
This charcoal mask has been such a life-saver this summer–it controls my oils on my t-zone and my face looks so amazing and glowy (even when I’m breaking out). I couldn’t have asked for a better product! This one ranks high on my charcoal masks list!!

How much is the play box a month? I guess I have a hard time that they are charging you for that fragrance sample- which you could get free at Macys or Dillards!

$10 USD a month. I think the perfume samples they throw in, because you do get 5 other products. And I think this box is worth more than the price because you get some deluxe sample sizes and they’re all high-end products. 😊

It’s pretty nice, especially under the eyes.

I have a similar product to the Milk stick and I like it for under my eyes, but I don’t know that I will repurchase it. I’ve been wanting to try the Bare Minerals liquid lip formula so it’s good to know that it’s a good formula. I love the shade too. I need to try that mask too. I love charcoal masks and Boscia products.

What product is it? Is it like an eye cream?
The bare minerals liquid lipstick is soooo good!!! I totally recommend it!
The charcoal masks is honestly one of my favorites so far!!! Ahhhh!!

It’s the Pur HydraGel Lift. It’s a stick eye gel, more like an undereye primer. I like it, but I don’t know that I’d buy it again.

Huh, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it before. I’ll look into it, I want something that won’t allow my makeup to crease. LOL

It does a pretty good job at keeping creasing to a minimum. Hard Candy has a Coconut Water Primer Stick that is really similar and so much cheaper.

Oh I’ve heard of Hard Candy, I think they sell that brand at Target right? It’s one of those hit and miss brands like e.l.f. lol
I’ll have to check it out next time I’m at the store, although I don’t recall seeing that brand so maybe my store doesn’t carry it or I’m thinking of the wrong store LOL

For whatever reason I completely missed the fact that you can use the Milk stick under your eyes! I’ve also been loving that Boscia mask!

This box sounds like a total dream! I’m loving the look of that leave in conditioner and the bare minerals lipstick is gorgeous, sounds totally amazing and good quality too. I’ve never used their products before but I’ll have to try this! Also the charcoal pore pudding sounds good, I’m loving the name! X

It’s way better than the Ipsy subscription in my opinion. This one has high end products AND their samples tend to be bigger lol.
And how funny, you picked the three samples that I loved more lol. The leave in conditioner I’ve tried before and it has done wonders for my hair.
The Lipstick formula is amazing. I totally want to get more shades and this charcoal mask is among my top 5 lol

It sounds really good. Haha, it must be because of your positive reviews! I’ve never used a leave in conditioner before but I can seriously imagine how beneficial they are. Yes, the lipstick is beautiful. You should totally treat yourself. Love a charcoal mask!

The leave in conditioner was a game changer for my frizzy hair. I’ll have to splurge on the full size lol.
