Hello again beautiful people!
Hope you are all enjoying your Friday so far!
Claire Talks Beauty inspired me to write this post because she did a Top 5 Natural Highlighters a very long time ago, lol. I just fell behind with many of my posts..
ANYWAY, I love highlighters that are pigmented enough to blind my enemies as well those highlighters that look fairly natural and subtle. This post will be a mix of both, as these are my top 5 favorites.
Let’s start right away! 🙂
#5: NYX Cosmetics
Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Lavender Lust
This one is the only cool-toned highlighter that I own. I love this one so much because it’s different than the ones I have, it’s creamy, pigmented, and it’s perfect for the cold season. I usually get a lot of use out of this during winter! 🙂
#4: Essence Cosmetics
Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight
This one looks a bit dark in the pan, but it’s actually very subtle. I think the name is perfect because it truly is a nude highlight. It has very little shimmer, but just enough to make your skin glow. I love wearing this highlighter when I want a no makeup look and sometimes I’ll layer it on top of liquid highlighters for a more intense highlight.
#3: NYX Cosmetics
Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sun Beam
This one is best described as a pale pink pearl, but it’s also VERY pigmented. It’s such a gorgeous shade and when it catches the light it’s even more beautiful! I love using this alone, on top of my foundation, and even mixed with my liquid foundation for radiant looking skin.
#2: Urban Decay
Afterglow 8-hour Highlighter in Sin
I received this little sample in my Ipsy bag and I fell in love. It’s so finely milled and gorgeous! I already have a few other champagne shades but this one is by far my favorite! It’s definitely very pigmented and I love how buildable it is.
#1: Smashbox x Casey Holmes
Spotlight Palette in Pearl
This one I received in a giveaway from the lovely Janice from My Life in Medicine Blog. It is stunning and the shades are SOOOOOOOOO buttery smooth! I also love that this palette has three different shades to choose from. I’ve used all three and I think my favorite one is Crank It Up (middle shade) because it’s a nice shimmery neutral pink. I still have yet to layer them but I don’t doubt that they would still look just as gorgeous!
And now onto what everyone wants to see:

I bought the Casey Holmes palette for a friend, but I so wish I had gotten one for myself. It’s so pretty!

The kit is not that expensive. I use easy pay. Otherwise, I’d never be able to afford it!

Ah, I’ll have to check it out then 🙂 thanks!

I absolutely LOVE the NYX Liquid Illuminator. Of all the highlighters I’ve purchased that is the ONE. Love the cream formula and how it stays on perfect all day. I actually prefer it over the powders.
I actually also received that Urban Decay Highlighter in Sin from my July ipsy bag and wore it a lot this summer.
I just got a nice size sample of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlighter in “stunner” from Sephora a few days ago. I’m excited to try it. It smells like vanilla ❤️

Nice to know someone out there appreciates the formula of the nyx highlighter as much I do! Seriously, I feel like no one really talks about this one but it’s soo good and underrated on my opinion. I’ve been wearing the UD one as well a lot.
Ooh that’s awesome!! Can’t wait to see what you think about it (I’m not sure if you reviews of your subscriptions in your blog)

I agree about the NYX Highlighter being underrated…it’s so good to me! I’ve gotten more compliments from that one than any of them. I do review ipsy bags but I just started my blog about a week ago so the only one posted is August (soon September!)
I plan to review the Tarte Highlighter in an upcoming blog this weekend, you’ll have to check it out when I get there.

I’m madly in love with Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in light iridescent!!!! I have been wanting to try some of NYX’s products so maybe I’ll buy one and give it a shot. I’m always looking for new highlighters!

It’s always so nice to have our go-to products! 😁 in my opinion, nyx has some of the best products, I know not everyone feels that way, but a lot of their formulas are really good, and they’re just as affordable as maybelline. I hope you like whatever you pick up 😀

Pigmented enough to blind my enemies… too funny. I have wanted that Smashbox palette for so long, its one of my favourite brands but I have to say the NYX Born to glow Sunbeam really caught my eye. That highlighter looks insane… I’d never really go for a liquid highlighter but it looks so good so I may have to try it. Great post x

It’s really good, I’ve never tried such a smooth and lightweight highlighter (the Smashbox one). As for the nyx liquid illuminator, it was hard to get a good swatch because it would wipe away with my finger (best if used with a beauty blender and dabbing it into the skin). BUT, it is Insanely pigmented and omg it’s just all around gorgeous!!

I’m forever swatching it at work (there’s a smashbox counter in the same store I work in), I just haven’t bought it yet. Do you also like their lippies? Ah thanks for the tip, I will have to remember that because I’m seriously considering buying the NYX highlighter. It looks sooo good.

The spotlight palette is the only product I’ve tried from Smashbox. I can’t really afford high end products, so when I get to splurge it’s only one thing lol. I bet their lippies are amazing though!

A proper treat yourself moment then!! They are, if you ever do get the chance to try them you should.

I was dying to read this post but I was away when you posted it but here I am!!! 🙂 I am such a highlighter loverrrr (along with all the other beauty/makeup lovers) The only one that I’ve tried from this list is the Urban Decay one and I use that one practically every day! And surprisingly I haven’t run out for such a small item (I also go it from Ipsy) I’m loving the pink/lavender toned ones. For all the highlighters I do have I have, none are in that pinky shade and I feel like they’re so pretty. Essence pure nude and Blow a Fuse are probably the next two I’d want to try!!

I layer the UD highlighter with others as well and it still looks just as gorgeous and pigmented. The UD highlighter also looks really good as a brow bone and inner corner highlight 🙂
The swatch of the essence highlighter looks much darker than it really is. It actually looks very natural on the skin.

I’ve never used any of these highlighters but I definitely want to try the NYX ones! My go-to highlighter is ColourPop’s “She’s Here to Stay.” It gives me the perfect golden glow!

I don’t own any Colourpop products, well I do, a creme gel liner, and a lippie stix, got them both through Ipsy. Other than that, I have nothing but would love to try their shadows 😀
I’ll look into the one you have, although I have enough highlighters with golden undertones LOL.
