August 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Hello again!

I hope my daily blog posts aren’t boring you to death already. I am trying my best to include a little bit of everything besides my 30 days of makeup challenge.

So far I’m finding it pretty fun. I feel challenged not only in the makeup challenge, but having several blog posts ready in advance for you to enjoy. This is definitely a busy month and I can’t wait to do my monthly review and a recap of my 30 days of makeup challenge.

Theme: Good Vibes Only

I didn’t get to do an unboxing video or post, so I just want to give my thoughts about the theme and bag real quick:

I think the theme was great–good vibes is all I want and try to spread on a daily basis to the best of my ability. Also, this was the perfect opportunity to show off my stones, lol. I think they did a good job with the ombre bag design, which reminded me of late summer sunsets (perfect because summer season is ending!). It has a tassel for zipper and I think it looks simple enough and still pretty chic and hippie. Even though I didn’t get the bag with I hoped, I still like this one and I think “Peace Love Lipstick” goes well with my love for lipsticks! πŸ™‚

Crown Brush
SS035 – Medium Face Contour Brush

Quick Description & Claims:

Synthetic fibers with aluminum ferrule and wood handle. Bristles are soft and hold onto product for more precise application. Versatile size works great for blush, contour, highlight, foundation, setting, and more.

Mini Product Review:

This brush is incredibly soft and I used it for contour. It picked up the perfect amount of product with just one dip into my palette and it blended my contour so seamlessly. This brush is supposed to versatile and I think I would use it for blush and setting powders.

Leaders Cosmetics USA
Sheet Mask Duo – What Happened Last Night? & Pore Gone for Good

ipsyaugust2017_leadersinsolution

Quick Description & Claims:

This duo tackles pesky pores AND hides the fact that we pulled an all-nighter. Leader Cosmetics was founded by an actual dermatologist in Korea. Ingredients like ginseng root extract soothe stressed-out skin while arnica flower extract helps reduce the appearance of scars.

Mini Product Review:

I want to put both of my reviews for these together because I had the same feelings and thoughts about both:

After using these masks, my face felt very soothed, cleansed to the pore, soft and smooth. The extra serum that stayed on my face was sooo good for my skin and I had more than enough to bring it down to my neck as well.

I woke up with soft and hydrated skin, and I absolutely loved that about these!! I love when a good mask has effects that last through the night and into the next morning. My skin looked less dull, brighter and awake. I would love to buy them myself!

theBalm Cosmetics
theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 Eyeshadow in Kuwakaribisha

ipsyaugust2017_thebalm

Quick Description & Claims:

This pale peachy powder is super pigmented, shimmery but not sparkly, and is totally buildable (in case you want your highlight to be extra extra). Apply this underneath our brow bones and at the inner corners of our eyes whenever we need to wake things up a lil bit (AKA every day). Looking for a neutral eyeshadow to balance out cat eyes, cut creases, and all that fun stuff? Look no further.

Mini Product Review:

This is such a gorgeous pale peachy shade and it is pretty pigmented. I love how finely milled theBalm’s powder products are, they never disappoint. I think I liked this product better for brow bone highlight and inner corner highlight. Definitely made me look more awake and it’s such a neutral shade. I think it works well for strobing too.

Hey Honey
Come Clean: Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub

ipsyaugust2017_heyhoney

Quick Description & Claims:

Main ingredient in this scrub is Propolis extract (a healing and anti-inflammatory compound produced by bees). It helps dissolve residue, minimize the look of pores, hydrate, and brighten up your skin.

Packed with non-abrasive dissolving crystalline beads to help clear dead skin cells and blackheads for a smoother complexion. Super gentle, that is good for sensitive skin.

Mini Product Review:

I’m typically very weary when it comes to scrubs because they can be harsh on the skin, however, this one was perfect. I absolutely loved it. The crystalline beads dissolve and they don’t feel rough on the skin. This scrub did a fantastic job at exfoliating my face. My skin felt cleansed to the pore, exfoliated, smooth and soft.

Pacifica
Coconut Blush Duo

This was the product I was looking forward to the most and IT CAME BROKEN so I couldn’t use it! I contacted Ipsy and they sent me a new one but it arrived a little too late for this review, so I will do a separate review when I get the chance to use it.
