Cars Themed Birthday Party — My Son Turned 3!

Hey guys!

I had a really good weekend. My son turned 3 on Friday and we had his birthday party on Saturday. I’ve never been more excited than this because it was his first official birthday party. He is old enough to know what he likes and doesn’t like. So I knew I had to make his first birthday a memorable one for him and I certainly did my best!

I looked through Pinterest for inspiration and found many ideas. I made the food labels, bought some decorations and balloons from party city, my cousin helped with making the goodie bags, and my auntie made pozole! 😀

Here are some photos from the birthday party:

The drinks and snacks bar had Fruit Punch (Transmission Fluid), Lemonade (Coolant), and water bottles (Fillmore’s organic fuel) for drinks. For snacks we provided rice krispie treats with m&ms (Lightning McQueen stoplight treats), powdered donuts (Guido’s white wall tires), chocolate donuts (Luigi’s tower of tires), potato chips (Mater’s taters), bugles (Sally’s cozy cones), marshmallows (Francesco’s airbags), and Chex mix (Doc Hudson’s nuts and bolts).

I liked how much people joked about the drink/snack bar and saying things like “don’t eat too many tires”, “I would like more transmission fluid because I’m running low” and my personal favorite “can’t get more organic than water”, lol.

My godmother made his birthday cake, and he absolutely loved it! It was tres leches (milk cake), and it was very delicious! I honestly can’t thank her enough for it!

He seemed to have lots of fun with all his cousins. I’m glad he loved everything! 🙂 Once everyone was gone and we were cleaning up, my cousin took some photos for us because we hadn’t done that while we sang happy birthday. I love my boys! They’re my world! ❤

Then we went on home, and we had Ciel open his presents. We let him play for a while, then we went to bed because I was so wiped out from running around ALL week.

I wish I would have had the chance to take more photos at the party but I was busy serving my guests and making sure they were all taken care of. At least I will remember how much fun he was having. 🙂

Hope you all have a fantastic week!! ❤

Oh you are just so creative! Ciel is so lucky to have a mother like you! I love how you’ve paid such attention to detail with things like the transmission fluid, the tools etc. You went all out. You look so happy in your photos! And even though you maybe didn’t take as many as you liked like you say at least you will remember how much fun your son was having, sometimes its better to not take so many pictures when you’re too busy living in the moment! I’ve never had a milk cake before, I wonder what it tastes like? The cake looks awesome. My nephew absolutely adores Cars too, I’ve bought him a ton of lightning McQueen stuff for Christmas so I may have to borrow your Godmother when his birthday rolls around so she can do a replica of that cake, because I’m sure my nephew would love it! In fact can you plan his birthday party too please, he would have loved this!! I’m so happy you had a wonderful time celebrating Ciel’s birthday, I’m sure its one he wont forget and when he looks back at this when he’s older he’s gonna appreciate you sooo much!xx

I thank Pinterest lol. I wouldn’t have been able to plan this party without a little inspiration lol. Oh I was determined to go all out, to the point of decorating the hallway as well but there wasn’t enough time or money lol. I hope I can do something similar next year 😊
And it’s made with evaporated milk, sweet condensed milk and heavy cream. It’s kind of spongy, people make it very watery that it’s practically dripping but I don’t like it that way. My godmother managed to make it like a dry cake but still very spongy and moist it practically melted in your mouth. And the frosting and filling was delicious as well. Omg. Lol.
And Ciel got almost the entire collection of the cars toys for his birthday, so many people got him at least one we were super happy lol.
And I could pass along the food labels if you’d like lol. You’d just have to print them out 🙃
      I hope he does haha

Good old pinterest! You did such an amazing job! I’m sure you will be able to do something similar next year. Oh wow, ewww I wouldn’t like it to be watery. Sounds gross haha. That sounds interesting, I’ve never even heard of this type of cake before. I feel like I wouldn’t like it (I’m the fussiest eater) but I would definitely love to try it someday. Oh I love frosting!!! Aw yay!! I bet you were so happy and I bet he is loving life right now. There are so many Cars toys out atm! Everywhere I go I see them! Oooh that would be amazing, my nephew is turning 4 next year so the perfect age! It’s not for a while but I will be messaging you nearer the time I’m sure, thanks hun X

I hope I can, I don’t even know what my son will be into by this time next year 😀
And yea, the watery one isn’t as good but that’s how it’s traditionally made.. However, some people, like my godmother, make it a bit dryer so it won’t drip, and it tastes delicious. I’m sure you’d like this one because I’m not a big fan of cake anymore, but this one was surprisingly delicious.
Yeah, makes me sad that Cars 3 is the last movie, but if they kept on going I think I would hate it lol. It was a good ending to the 3rd movie haha.
Awesome! I’ll keep the templates and the ones I used 🙂

You have no idea how much love I have for all of this, just everything! Ciel is the cutest! I’m so glad you all had a fantastic day, I just wish that Autumn and I didn’t live overseas and could celebrate with you all! The decorations look amazing!! You really did an amazing job of it all and I had to have a giggle at your snack and drinks labels! I bet Ciel were so excited with it all! Happy belated 3rd Birthday little man! ❤ xx

We would totally love to have you here!!! *cue massive amount of tears*
LOL yeah people loved the drink and snack bar haha, they couldn’t stop making jokes 🙂
I think he had fun, he was in company of all his cousins and friends and family 🙂 I almost can’t wait to plan the next one 😀
I’m so excited for when Autumn is old enough for a birthday party 🙂 or do you plan on starting early for her? I waited until now because that way I knew for sure what he liked for a theme 🙂 I think a girl’s birthday would be so much fun to put together though 🙂

It were SO good, no wonder they liked it.. People just don’t make that kind of effort over here which is a shame! Did planning take you long?

Ha ha bless you! I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing yet.. I’m going to celebrate all of her birthday’s in some way but I’m not sure if they’ll all be with parties or not. It makes it kind of awkward with me living in such a small place, I’d have them here all the time otherwise to cut costs. ❤

Awh well that sucks. And yeah, I began planning in October and started buying things little by little cause it was a bit expensive, especially along with buying gifts for the kids for Xmas. If you ever make one for Autumn I’d suggest starting early to figure out what you need to buy.

Do they have like children’s places over there with indoor playgrounds? Like we have chuck e cheese over here lol.

Yeah, you mean like pub/restaurants with the play gyms? We’ve got Charlie Chalks, or we did when I were a kid, I’m not sure if they’re called something different now.. They’re just a little few and far between… Then we have a tonne of ‘jungle gyms’ .. I’ll probably start trying to plan something after the new year, that gives me nine months then to figure out what I actually want to do, might just take her somewhere for a day out, not entirely sure yet. 🙂

Yeah they really can put a dent in your pocket! It’s crazy how expensive things are!

      Thank you!
Yeah, they all loved the snack bar, mostly the stoplight treats, those were gone before we cut the cake haha.
Omg yeah, pit stop, it made sense to me LOL
yes the cake was delicious, idk if you’ve ever had tres leches, you should try it!

Did you bake the stop light treats on your own?? I’ve tried to bake rice crispies on my own before…lol :-/
I’ve had a tres leches cake a few times, my aunt had one for her wedding she loves it so much but I’m not a fan personally! 😛

I did not because it was going to take me forever so I got the rice krispie fun sheet. I have made rice krispie treats in the past and they were pretty good.
The thing about tres leches is how its made lol. Some people like it dripping in milk, I personally don’t. I like a dry-ish cake, but still moist and spongy enough.
