Hey dolls!
Again, I apologize for publishing my posts a bit later than I normally do today. I didn’t wake up feeling too well, but I pushed through it to get this post out to you tonight. I have two more posts for tomorrow that I will be working on tonight. So I hope you’re looking forward to that.
Let’s get on with this post and let me show you what I received in my December box!
Theme: The 2017 Play! List
I really like the bag they sent this month. I love the silky satin fabric bags compared to the cotton ones. Anyway, I think the theme this month is very fitting for the end of the year. I don’t think all the products apply to the theme, but eh.
The bag design was pretty fantastic too. I love the black and champagne color scheme, I thought the phrase “Glam Straight” was also pretty fitting for the theme. Welcome the new year looking and feeling your best, am I right? The design gave “The Great Gatsby” vibes, did anyone else get that or was that just me??
What did you guys think of this month’s bag?
Bag Contents:
- Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum
- Caudalie Vine[Activ] Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream
- Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1
- Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black
- Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in Fuschia Pink
- Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Au Naturel
First Impressions:
I always love opening up my Play! by Sephora boxes because I never look at the spoilers, and I like to be surprised by what I receive each month instead of desperately wishing I had received a different box.
I really like the theme this month and I’m glad I got a little bit of everything. I did run out of dry shampoo so it’s nice to get a different one, I can’t wait to try it. Eye creams are always welcome in my cabinet too. I’m excited to try the makeup items, the eyeliner is thin enough to create a fine wing, and the stick eye colour from Laura Mercier is a very pretty shade. I had thought I was receiving a red shade of lipstick because of the box, but it turned out to be fuschia when I opened the bullet. That’s okay, I hope it suits me.
What did you guys receive in your December boxes?!

Very cool! Please let us know how the Stella McCartney perfume smells. I love her clothes, so I am curious to find out how her perfume lasts and smells. Happy New Year! 💋

I love the design and color of the bag! I can’t believe that people look at spoilers for their boxes lol I feel like the whole fun of sub boxes is the surprise! I’m like you, I never look!
I’m glad your happy with your items! I’m sure the lipstick will suit you. 🙂

I love it too! And yeah, the only box I get spoilers from is Ipsy because they have an app, and they release spoilers around the 5th or 6th of the month.
I really really hope it does, bold pinks tend to look really weird on me or they wash me out.

Ah I would always scroll fast past the spoilers lol it would make me so upset if I accidentally saw something

LOL I’m okay with seeing them from Ipsy, but not from Sephora and Boxycharm since those two boxes contain high end brands 🙂

Ipsy has highend brands too, don’t they?!

yes they do, but they often send indie brands rather than the high-end, known brands. or at least, it’s almost kind of rare to get high-end brands in the bags every month.. which is why I like play by sephora, they’re all high-end brands.. I may end up cancelling my ipsy subscription at the one year mark, so they better send me nice things, LOL. some bags are okay, some not so much, which is a problem, a lot of people don’t like the products they get because they often have never heard of the brand, or they don’t get enough high-end brands. BUT, I guess it’s a good thing for indie brands to get a little recognition

Well ipsy and Sephora are $10 each a month. I believe they’re the cheapest ones. There’s also birchbox for $10 but I didn’t like it as much.

Yeah I tried Birchbox for a few months before, hated pretty much everything and I had Ipsy for like a year before. I’ve never tried Sephora Play yet though. 😛

You may like Sephora 🙂 I’ve gotten lots of full size items that I have yet to finish (like face masks)

I have some face masks that I have that I bought from Sephora over a year ago…do you think they’re expired or something? I feel bad throwing them away unused.

Some do expire after 12 months, its usually printed on the packaging.
