Product Empties — September to December 2017

Hey girls!

I apologize for publishing this post a bit later today. It would have gone up this morning but I had completely forgotten to take photos and well, editing took a little bit longer than I expected.

This is MY FIRST EMPTIES POST! πŸ˜‰ I did wait until now on purpose and may end up posting empties every season just like my favorites because if I know myself, I won’t finish many products in one month.

Anyway, let’s jump right in because I do have quite a few.

Haircare:

Big Sexy Hair Sulfate-Free Volumizing Shampoo — didn’t feel volumizing but I liked that it was sulfate-free. Repurchase? Maybe.

Not Your Mother’s Naturals Linseed Chia Blend and French Plum Seed Oil Volume Boost Tapioca & Rice Dry Shampoo — I loved this dry shampoo. It didn’t leave any white residue, and it absorbed the oils in my hair and made it look clean. Repurchase? Yes!

Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil Shea Butter Conditioning Treatment — liked it, my hair felt soft and shiny, but didn’t do much for frizzyness. Repurchase? No.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray — loved it, detangles my hair and makes hair soft and shiny. Repurchase? Would love to get the full size!

Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray — wasn’t a fan, didn’t like the scent, felt a little sticky. Repurchase? No.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo — I liked it a bit more than I remember, the scent wasn’t a big deal and didn’t linger. It didn’t leave any residue but I like other dry shampoos better. Repurchase? No.

Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It (H)Air Styler — at first I wasn’t into it but after trying it several times I saw the difference it made for my hair, it was softer, shinier, not frizzy. Repurchase? I would love to get the full size.

Hot Girls Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner Samplers — I liked the conditioner more because it actually hydrated and soften my hair. I wasn’t a fan of the scent, so that killed the chances of me ever buying it. Repurchase? No, didn’t like the scent.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine / Derek Lam 10 Crosby Blackout / My Burberry Blush Perfume Samplers — loved them all, they each had very tolerable, gentle scents, no smell of alcohol and they were pretty long-lasting. Repurchase? No, only because I don’t always wear perfume.

Skincare:

Cleansers & Masks:

Simple Skincare Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes — loved them, they take my makeup off so effortlessly and gently. Repurchase? Already have.

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil — It felt very luxurious, and even though it was a small foil packet sampler, I understand why everyone loves this brand. Repurchase? I would love to!

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel — I really loved it. It was very gentle and it cleansed my face well. Repurchase? Probably.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash — Loved how gentle the formula felt against my skin. The formula felt silky smooth was very frothy. Repurchase? I wish but it’s not CF.

hey honey Come Clean Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub — I loved how gentle this scrub felt and it seriously exfoliated my skin like no other. It felt like a treat every time I used this scrub. Repurchase? Would LOVE to!

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask — didn’t like it because it didn’t apply evenly. It didn’t feel like it exfoliated my skin the way other charcoal masks do. Repurchase? No, didn’t like it and it’s not CF.

Botanics Shine Away Clay Mask — I didn’t like it as much. Maybe it was the fact that it came in a foil packet, but I was unable to get the mask out of there. This was also my first clay mask and I didn’t feel as though it allowed me to spread it out evenly. Repurchase? No.

Freeman Polishing Charcoal & Black Sugar Gel Mask and Scrub — first gel mask I’ve ever tried and it felt really nice. My skin felt exfoliated and soft. Repurchase? Yes!

Manefit Beauty Planner Mask Lily Whitening & Brightening — I loved this mask as well as the other that came with it in one of Ipsy bags. They felt nice on the skin and provided my skin with some hydration. Repurchase? If I can find them.

Serums & Moisturizers:

Algenist POWER Recharging Night Pressed Serum — Really loved this serum. It’s pressed in the little jar, but after I scooped it out, it literally melted into my skin. It felt very luxurious and it hydrated my face so well. Repurchase? Would love to!

No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum — I thought the serum was ok, not too thick but absorbed well, didn’t like the strong scent that lingered. Repurchase? No, didn’t like the scent.

Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum — loved it, felt nice on the skin and locked moisture. My skin looked and felt better. Repurchase? Probably.

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Collagen Veil Anti-Aging Primer (x2) — I used up two foil packets and I really liked it. It was a little runny but nothing too bad. My skin liked it and it felt luxurious. Repurchase? Maybe.

Lancome Beauty Sleep Perfector Multi-Correcting Gel-in-Oil — didn’t like it, it had a strong scent that I found unpleasant and nearly gave me a headache, but formula is ok. Repurchase? No, didn’t like and it’s not CF.

Jack Black Double Duty Face Moisturizer with Blue Algae Extract and Sea Parsley — this moisturizer reminded me of the Nivea one because of the scent. I liked how well it hydrated my face. Repurchase? No, I have other moisturizers I like more.

Tony Moly Moisture Cream Aquaporin — felt nice and it had a gentle scent. It reminded me of the Aqua Bomb from Belif and the cooling water stick from Milk Makeup. Repurchase? Yes. If I can find it.

Lush Dream Cream Lotion Sampler — I liked how nice and gentle this lotion was. The scent was quite subtle and pleasant. The store employee assured me that it was gentle enough for baby skin. Repurchase? Perhaps, for my son.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb — LOVED IT! Absorbs into my skin fast, locks in moistuire, and my skin stayed hydrated. Repurchase? I would love to buy the full size!

Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins — felt nice as an overnight cream. I would always wake up with smooth, hydrated skin. The effects of the cream literally lasted overnight and into the morning. I felt as though it also did a good job of retaining some moisturize even after the weather was beginning to be colder. Repurchase? No, not CF.

Milk Makeup Cooling Water Stick — I loved this cooling water stick. It’s fast and very convenient for when I’m running out of the door. I did run out fairly quickly so I’m not sure this would last as long as a regular moisturizer would. Repurchase? Maybe.

Puretem Purevera Emulsion — not too thick, absorbed well into my skin, great as an overnight cream, and perfect for transitioning weather (summer to fall). Repurchase? Yes, if I can find it.

Makeup:

e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer — I loved this face primer and the formula also reminded me of the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer. I prefer this one because it didn’t make my skin feel too oily and it’s also CF. Repurchase? Yes!

e.l.f. Perfect Blend Concealer in Apricot Beige — I liked this concealer in the past, but it doesn’t provide the coverage I need, it’s light coverage at best. It could also be me, but I feel like the formula changed a bit. Repurchase? Not anymore.

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer in Beige — Love this concealer so much. It has the perfect coverage for me (medium to full). I use it to conceal my dark circles and it works perfectly as well. Repurchase? Already did.

NYX Matte Liquid Liner in Black — love this liquid liner, it’s become my go-to and it always makes it into my seasonal favorites post. I have not found another liquid liner that I like better. Repurchase? Already did.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara — I liked this mascara but I wasn’t in love with it. I did like that my lashes looked a bit thicker but it didn’t curl my lashes nor did it make my lashes look voluminous. Repurchase? No.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Setting Spray — I really like this setting spray, it does the job and my makeup stayed in place all day. I know some people said this stung their face, so perhaps it’s not for everyone, but it’s also good to keep in mind that it is much cheaper than other ones. If in doubt, get a more expensive one. Repurchase? Yes.

  1. Great job with all your empties! I’m amazed at how many products you went through and surprised by how many I also have/had! Some of these are definitely subscription box samples (mostly Sephora Play, but I even got that Marc Anthony hair mask back when I was subscribed to Ipsy in 2015). It’s also surprising to see what worked for you but not me (that Wet N Wild spray always finds it way into my eyes and the Sexy Hair shampoos irritate my scalp). I can’t wait to see your next empties post!

    1. Thank you! I’m actually quite surprised too, I didn’t think I’d be able to pull it off and there were still a few that I wasn’t able to finish up before this post. Yes a lot of these were samples from subscription boxes and I believe from foil packet samples were from my Ulta online hauls lol.
Yeah, not everything works the same for two people, but I think that keeps things interesting πŸ™‚
I’m excited to start accumulating products again, I hope I can finish up a few πŸ™‚

  2. You got through so much stuff – good for you!! I purchased the full-size Milk Cooling Water Stick because I also blasted through the sample but really did like it, the big size goes just as fast! But I do like it, it’s hard to say how much use you get out of all of these stick products.

    1. Thank you, it wasn’t easy, I had to keep reminding myself to use up the smaller samples, because like you, I have a TON! LOL. Some things I set aside for a future giveaway (maybe that will give you an idea? lol).
It is, I guess if you use it often, it’s worth it and you’d use it up faster.
