Project Pan 2018 / / Collaboration with Ever Impractical

Heyy dolls!

We meant to post yesterday, but Andi had to work late so we had to re-arrange the date for this post in order to accommodate her work life. That being said, I am doing another project pan! I feel like last year’s project pan didn’t really get anywhere, but that’s only because I did it for 10 weeks (which isn’t very long).

I was thinking about it doing another one last year before the new year rolled around, but I hadn’t decided on a start date. That was until Andi from Ever Impractical said she was looking for collaborators on her project pan through our Facebook Group (you should join!), and I JUMPED at the chance to join her!

I’ve known Andi for what seems like forever. We originally met through our #BeautiesOnFire collaboration that was set up by the lovely Elisabeth from Everything & Nothin’ (I miiisss youuu girl!<3) and we’ve been supporting one another ever since.

I’m very excited to be collaborating with her, and especially on a project like this which will take the entire year! šŸ™‚ So let’s get on with the details for this project pan.

projectpan2018

We have only ONE TWO RULES:

  1. Destash anything that goes bad
  2. If something doesn’t work out, switch it out for another product–as is expected from skincare.

We will have:

  • Skincare
  • Hair care
  • Makeup

Basically anything we want to use up.Ā  We will be doing this for the entire year. (Correct me if I’m wrong, Andi!) I’m super down to do this the full year. I’m positive that I can finish all of these before the end of the year, and I will* be adding some more as the months pass since I will be getting more products from my subscriptions.

Andi and I will be updating you guys on our progress once a month, every 3rd Thursday. So let’s get on with what you’ve come here to see!

What products have I chosen?!

projectpan2018_everything

SO. SO. MANY! Sixty-seven [67] products to be exact!

I know, that’s a lot, but I’m committed to this. So let’s break this down!

Hair Care:

  • Big Sexy Hair Sulfate-Free Volumizing Conditioner
  • Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing Conditioner

  • Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray (Conditioning Detangling Spray)
  • HASK Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner
  • HASK Argan Oil Healing Shine Hair Treatment
  • THEORIE Marula Oil Transforming Hair Serum

Total Products: 7

Am I the only person who can’t seem to finish their shampoo and conditioners AT THE SAME DAMN TIME?!Ā  Anyway, the rest of the products aren’t that big of a deal, I have several other hair serums and oils but I thought including several would defeat the purpose of this project pan because they’re so hard to finish, but I’ll use up one at a time.

Skincare:

Scrubs & Face Masks:

Total Products: 14

I have so so many sheet masks as well as masks that I bought last year from Ulta, I literally went crazy with skincare and I still haven’t used up that many. Also, a few of them were won through giveaway or have arrived through subscriptions. Sheet masks will be easy as they’re a one-time use, but I have no clue how long the bottles will take to finish.

Ahh..So much makeup.. A lot of these I truly want to finish off.Ā  I used to use a bunch of these products and then forgot about them after I found something I liked better. There are a few in there that I use all the time, but even with daily use, it’s hard to hit the pan.

I made sure to include a variety of products so I can do several looks with everything listed here, so I will be able to mix and match. I won’t be so strict as to stick with everything here, likes eyeshadows and lipsticks for the most part, but everything else, I’m willing to use whenever I do my makeup.

Did you guys see anything familiar in this year’s project pan?!

I am very excited to get this under way and to see how many empties come out of this. It’s also very exciting to be collaborating with someone else, and I really would like to keep collaborating with others regardless of topic (beauty, fashion or lifestyle). So if you are looking for someone, please contact me! I’m sure we can work something out! šŸ™‚

    1. It’s only a nighttime one, I used to use it every day, and when my skin cleared up, I stopped using it daily, and reached for it every other day and eventually about once a week.
I’m starting to use it daily again only because I wanna finish it, I’m thinking of buying a replacement because I really like it and it’s done wonders for my skin! Still looking for others though, I don’t mind if they dont have retinol.

          1. I highly recommend Peter Thomas Roth retinol PM, but it’s very expensive. I use one that’s called Eva Naturals Skin Clearing Vitamin C+ with 20% vitamin C, 2% salicylic Acid, 5% Hyaluronic acid, 3.5% Niacinamide, 2% retinol, and 10% MSM. It’s an awesome serum. evanaturals.org.

  1. First, Iā€˜ve never understood how people can do short project pans like your 10-week one. I think this year-long one will be better for getting things accomplished šŸ˜‰
And wow look at all those products!
Iā€˜ve never been able to finish shampoo and conditioner together, either! I also use shampoo on my scalp and a ton of conditioner more on the ends, so I tailor what Iā€˜m using where (brands, purposes, and product sizes are therefore different).
I see plenty of skincare and makeup that I also received back in Birchbox and Ipsy (plus a few others that I have randomly received, usually online orders). I even remember comparing the Nyx x Ipsy and POP trios in one review. The only Play product I recognize is that Boscia charcoal mask. Looks like we both included the Nyx Dark Circle Corrector!
And omg Iā€˜m so ready to do this project pan too!

    1. It was my first one, I figured I would try it to see how it went, and in the end I only got a feel for the products I used and wrote reviews lmao.
Yes I’m very excited to have an extended one lol. Can’t wait to see the empties šŸ˜„
Yeah I have so many subscription samples it’s insane haha. I know I noticed it was the same nyx concealer and I was like “yay!” You’ll probably finish yours before me haha. I have absolutely no idea how much left before I hit the pan on mine šŸ˜…

      1. Iā€˜ve been reading one that lasted a year and it made so much sense! And then I ended up on Reddit and people would do so many seasonal ones that looked like they could only handle half-empty sample sizes.
I think I either finished or decluttered a lot of those empties. Iā€˜ve been doing my makeup in such a rush lately that I havenā€˜t been using that concealer often (Iā€˜ve been layering it when I do wear it). So who knows?

        1. Yes it does. Some products are really hard to use up completely, even sample sized. I’ve used so many and I still haven’t gotten around it finishing them lol
I haven’t done my makeup all week cause I’m busy cleaning my home but I’ll have to start soon. Lol. At least I’m kind of using my skincare lol

  2. That is so many!! But you’ll definitely feel so accomplished once you finish them off! I’ve been eyeing up theBalm’s highlighter for ages, but I keep holding back as I already have a few highlighters I love already. I really want to keep my makeup collection small šŸ™‚

    1. Yes I cannot wait to see how many empties come out of this before my next empties update (hopefully a bunch) lol
They have three different ones, Mary Lou Manizer, Cindy Lou Manizer and Betty Lou Manizer, they’re all different shades so it’s nice that they have different ones to suit different skin tones.
And yeah, the smaller the better because you’ll be able to use everything without a problem but I will admit that when you get into makeup, it can get a little addicting to try new formulas and different products lol.

  3. We have a few of the same items! Mostly from Birchbox and Ipsy! I remember that coffee bean eye cream, it actually didn’t lighten up my under eyes but I lost it. Lol.
So, what you’re doing is going to use all of these items up before 2019 hits?
That’s gonna be so hard, you’ve got so much stuff! Good luck!

    1. Yeah I canā€™t believe I still have a bunch of these lol. I didnā€™t notice anything that great either from the coffee bean eye cream either but it soothes my under eyes when I barely get any sleep lol.
And yes, before 2019 lol, skincare maybe be easy to use up, but I canā€™t say the same about the makeup šŸ˜•
Thank you Iā€™m gonna need it
