Hey dolls!!
I’m behind on my subscription reviews, but I’m determined to catch up, even if that means posting twice a day, which I don’t like doing, but it will* happen.. I do have lots of other things to show you, not just product reviews, so I hope you’re excited for all of that content π
Ok, just so you know, the reviews will be the same as my other subscriptions, but at the end I will quickly review how much the box is worth compared to what I paid for the subscription. If this doesn’t make sense now, it will later, I promise.
So let’s get started on the December 2017 Boxycharm product reviews!
Contents:
- Real Her Be Fearless, Be Limitless Blush Kit
- Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials
- Makeup Geek Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain
- Tarte Tarteist Last Paint Mascara (unopened–will not be reviewed)
- Crown Brush Deluxe Blush Brush
I was really excited to see so many full sized items and I was more interested in the MUG Creme Stain, the Crown Blush Brush!
Crown Brush
Deluxe Blush Brush
Quick Description & Claims:
With super soft, dense synthetic bristles, this brush can be used with both powder and cream blushes, and provides medium to full coverage for a more dramatic finish.
Mini Product Review:
This brush is super soft, which is what I’ve come to expect from Crown Brush. I already have several of their face brushes and I love using them for blush. Also, this one is just so pretty, I love brushes with white handles, they seem more elegant and high-end, or is that just me? Even so, they do feel high-end with their synthetic soft bristles. Love it!
Cruelty Free? Unclear.
Beaute Basics
Bronze Essentials
Quick Description & Claims:
Use individually or mix together for your ultimate Bronze and Glow.
Mini Product Review:
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why this little bronzer palette costs so much ($39.95). Sure, the formula is nice, it blends well, it feels buttery smooth, but I can say the exact same thing for the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer, which everyone and their mothers have already tried and liked.
You can mix the shades to suit your skin tone, but 2 of 3 shades look a bit orange for my skin tone. While the shades are certainly pigmented, the first one on the left may look like a blush on me, the second I can get away with, but not the one on the right. That is far too orange for me.
Another thing: what’s up with the gold strip in between each shade? I found that to be a very odd placement, because my brushes barely fit in there and I sure don’t like shimmery bronzers, they just don’t look good on me. I attempted to use the gold strips as highlighters, which again, didn’t look good on me, despite the fact that anything gold and gold undertones looks against my skin tone..
I’m still pretty confused about this product. I can’t make up my mind on whether I like it or not. Perhaps I need to play with it a little more and mix the shades a bit more. I will be sure to give you guys an update once I’ve used it enough times, I guess..
Cruelty Free? Unknown.
Real Her
Be Fearless, Be Limitless Blush Kit
Quick Description & Claims:
Tip: use brush to remove the protection layer on the top of the blush.
Mini Product Review:
At first this product didn’t seem like much. Sure the shades were pretty, and they do seem a bit shimmery on top, even the bronzer–which I don’t like. However, this little blush palette actually blew my freaking mind!
The shades are so buttery smooth and they blend SO EASILY. The blush really did give my cheeks a nice flush of color and it made my skin look radiant and very glowy. The middle shade (Limitless) is my favorite but I can get away with using Fearless (left shade) during the winter.
The bronzer was really nice too. I thought it would look really crappy with the shimmer, but it’s actually pretty matte. And like the blush, looks really nice on the skin and gives a nice glow. π
Also, some pros: paraben and gluten free, natural, non-toxic, cruelty-free and vegan!
Cruelty Free? Yes!
Makeup Geek
Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain
Quick Description & Claims:
Makeup Geek Showstopper Creme Stain will ensure youβre the center of attention! Use the precision applicator for a light feel on the lips throughout the day!
Mini Product Review:
I couldn’t find the shade name anywhere, not even on the Boxycharm website which was a bummer.. It’s a nice formula and a nice nude shade–everyone who got the Pretty Vulgar lipstick wanted this one instead.
I really like this lipstick formula. It’s so smooth and applies evenly. The applicator is also small so application is even more precise. It feels very comfortable and lightweight on the lips and I think it’s a really nice everyday shade.
This is my first time trying this brand and I’m sold! It’s no wonder people like it. I can only wonder what their eyeshadows are like!
Cruelty Free? Yes!

MOTD:
This is a bad photo, but I used the bronzer very lightly, just enough to warm up my face. I used the blush kit for eyes and cheeks–Fearless on the lids and Limitless on the cheeks. I really love how the MUG lipstick really brought the whole look together–very monochromatic. Reminded me of my 30 Days of Makeup Monochromatic makeup look.
