Unboxing My March 2018 Boxycharm & Ipsy Glam Bag

Hey my dolls!

You read the title right! Two unboxings (plus first impressions) in one post! It would have been three with Sephora, but it always arrives a day or two later than the date they give me…

I would do unboxings in one post more often but unfortunately, all my subscriptions don’t arrive at the same time, and it just so happens that these two did. But anyway, let’s unbox/reveal these subscriptions to see what I got! 🙂

IPSY GLAM BAG

Theme: Create

ipsymar2018_bagipsymar2018_bag2

The theme this month is “Create”, I think the designer is @pewitte ? Their makeup bag is a black and white cartoon of women with no faces, but from different backgrounds/cultures, that’s neat. What’s not neat is the lack of pattern in their shirts/tops. They’re repetitive, and it wasn’t that fun to color in to be honest. That an we only got two colors. I don’t really have other markers so I couldn’t do much with it.

I don’t want to be mean, but it’s my least favorite bag.. I do like the pink zipper, kind of.

Bag Contents:

  • NIP+FAB Glycolic Scrub Fix
  • GoldFaden MD Facial Detox Mask

  • City Color Cosmetics Glow Duo

  • tarte Cosmetics Sex Kitten Eyeliner

  • Contour Cosmetics Lip Kit Pencil in Stud

First Impressions:

To be honest, I wasn’t at all impressed with this month’s bag. I know that NIP+FAB is a brand that a lot of people love, personally I have yet to try it, so I’m hoping it’s good. But I don’t care much about everything else. Possibly the eyeliner because it’s from tarte, but I do have so many eyeliners lol.

I guess we will see how these products truly measure up. This bag commemorates my one year anniversary with Ipsy and I’ve been thinking about unsubscribing for many reasons but I guess the final verdict will be in when I get next month’s bag. It was supposed to be this month’s bag that would give me the deciding factor, but I redeemed a product and I’m not getting it until next month, so I’ll let you guys know if I’ll be unsubscribing!

BOXYCHARM

Theme: Bae Cation

There’s really nothing to say about the box, except for the fact that it’s sturdy and thick and it’s padded really well to keep all the products from moving around too much and getting damaged.

  • Pür The Complexion Authority Eyeshadow Palette
  • Butter London Double Decker Lashes Mascara
  • South Mane Beauty Under Eye Gels
  • The Vintage Cosmetic Company Smokey Eye Makeup Brush Set
  • Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush Blush

First Impressions:

I’m only familiar with Pür Cosmetics and Pretty Vulgar, but guyssss!!! That gorgeous eyeshadow palette, whaaaaaaa?!! I believe it was a collab with Boxycharm, and I absolutely love it! The eyeshadow palette alone was one of many reasons I subscribed to Boxycharm, they did not let us down this month as EVERYONE got this palette.

I think the blush shade I got will suit me, I don’t know for sure, but fingers crossed it does because it’s one of those brands I always wanted to try but they only sell online I think.

I’ve never heard of Butter London, South Mane Beauty, and The Vintage Cosmetic Company, but I am excited to try those products too! So awesome to have gotten under eye gels because I love them! The brushes feel super soft, and you guys already know, the mascara will be left for another time because I have a small stash to get through first.

I’m very excited about all of the products in my Boxycharm, but not so much with my Ipsy. I hope I like this month’s Sephora as well. I can’t wait to try everything!

What did you guys get in your Ipsy glam bag and/or Boxycharm?

  1. I was mad about getting only two markers, too, lol. “I don’t want to be mean but it was my least favorite bag” 😂 I feel ya! It’s a bit creepy to me, actually. The only thing I also got in my bag was the Nip+Fab thing! I’d like to try the facial detox mask! Hope you like the items more after your try them. ♡ I’d miss comparing my bags to yours if you unsubscribed but I’d totally understand why if you did. Looking forward to seeing what product you redeemed next month! Just curious… would they still send it if you cancelled your subscription?
The eyeshadow palette in your boxycharm is beautiful! 😍 wow!

    1. I get they were trying to be creative but the cartoon looked exactly like the ones Sephora makes and they’re just not my favorite kind of art lol. I think they could do a lot better lol.
I tried the exfoliant and the mask today, so far I loved the exfoliant more, I’ll have to see if the mask truly works for me
Awhhh I love comparing them too lol. I love it when me and other people get the exact same items lol #twins lol But you’re still getting Sephora right?
And I don’t think so. You’d have to be subscribed for them to send it to you because it’s essentially part of that months bag
I know, I’m so excited about the palette. I want to wear it tomorrow lol

      1. Hahah I can see why it’s not your favorite kind of art! I haven’t tried the exfoliant yet but I’m gonna try to remember later today lol.
I love getting the exact same items, too! It’s interesting to know how different products work for different people! I will still be getting Sephora though. 🙂
I feel like they should still send you your item… since they are your points after all but of course, much smarter of them to not let you. 😛
Can’t wait to see what you do with that palette! 😍

Awesome, we can always compare Sephora too lol.

  2. I got all the same products in my Boxycharm too, it arrived today! That blue shade in the palette is so pretty, and the brushes are really soft. I think I got a different shade of blush, mine is a neon pink but it’s going to be perfect this summer. Glad you loved your Boxycharm too =D

    1. I’m the most excited about the palette I really hope I get to play with it tomorrow lol. I’m also really excited about the under eye gels, it’s been such a long time since I last used some lol.

          1. To be honest, Boxycharm has been worth the money since the very first month, you get a lot of palettes, and also, all the products are full size whereas in ipsy, we get one full size product a month. I have gotten three full sized palettes since I subscribed and I haven’t run out of the products I got in there yet lol.

          2. OMG haha I’m unsubbing this month before the first, I only wanted to redeem my points haha. But thanks for the reminder! I almost waited until next month and you’re supposed to do it before the 1st right?? LOL

  3. I’ve hot the nip+fab thing in one of my Birchboxes and had really high hopes but was quite disappointed afterwards. The idea behind the bag sounds really cool but somehow poorly executed 😀

    1. Really? I tried it for my first time a few days ago and really loved it! I guess it’s not for everyone, but that’s one of the reasons I don’t buy into the hype of products because they’re not meant for everyone.
And yes! They’ve had plenty of amazing bags in the past, but a lot of them (like this month’s) are flops lol
