A Lifestyle Change — Diet & Exercise

Hey guys.

This post may be a little rambly, and I apologize about that.

April was a very stressful month for me. It sounds insane to say this but I sort of am at fault for creating stress on myself. I’m the kind of person that sets out to do things whole-heartedly instead of half-assed. That includes this blog.

As you all know, I recently finished my 30 Days of Makeup Challenge, and I put in 150% effort into every look and on top of that I had the other blog posts that I had to put out. I dove into this blog the entire month. I stayed up some nights due to my insomnia and coupled with stress of everyday life, of course that disrupted my sleeping pattern as well.

Anyway, I truly do want to make some changes in my life because I don’t feel healthy. I’ve already started doing workouts, and eating lots more veggies but I don’t feel like it’s enough.

I know that these are already some of my new year’s resolutions, but I don’t think I’ve been trying hard enough because I have other things going on daily. This blog post is for me to keep myself accountable. Here are the kind of changes I’m making:

  • Cutting out sugar — as much as possible
  • Only water — orange juice occasionally
  • Take vitamins
  • No junk food
  • Cheat day every two weeks
  • No fast food — except subs or something with lots of vegetables
  • Lots of veggies every day and fruit

  • Daily squats
  • Daily push ups (however many I can do)
  • 1 hr workout 3-5 times a week, especially weekends
  • 8 min abs/legs/arms (each) every day at least

I will definitely have to make some kind of routine, especially for my workouts because there are certain days a week where I cannot workout. So I will have to figure that out. In terms of diet, it should all be fairly easy except for the no junk food and cutting out sugar. The first weeks are the hardest, I just have to try harder.

Have you set any goals for health or fitness goals for yourself?

I am so impressed! These are pretty big goals, but I’m sure you will feel amazing after a few weeks. Cutting out sugar would be so hard for me. I like that you gave yourself a cheat day every two weeks, because that’s something to look forward and you’ll feel like you earned it. I really need to drink more water, I should make a goal of that. Also, I’m working harder on consistently incorporating more fruits and veggies. I’ve heard that minimizing carbs can help you feel better, but I’m not committed enough for that unfortunately, lol.

    Good luck! You got this!!

Yeah I know. Now I’m kinda thinking what if these goals are unreachable for me haha.
Ugh not looking forward to my non-cheat days, or rather, two whole weeks haha. I will have to do my best so far I’m not doing well lol.
And yes, drinking water is super important. I take my water bottle everywhere with me, to my bedroom, living room, kitchen everywhere lol.
Oh no, not carbs!!! You have no idea how much I love potatoes and pasta 😭😭😭

Thank you! I’ll have to work my ass off lol.

You got this girl! I definitely think drinking only water is a big help, except for the occasional orange juice! I try to do the same, only drink water and juice if I’m at the pub or something because water can get boring. I think for me, I definitely need to drink less alcohol! Good luck with your workouts and all your goals, you are such a determined, hard working person I’m confident you can stick to these goals and succeed! Xx

I’ve been getting bored of my plain water lately so I’m going to give infused waters a shot lol.
And omg I used to drink so much!! 😭 I feel you on that one.
So far I’m doing really well. I have a fitness routine now and I’m sticking with it and ended up getting an app for workouts you can do daily and it’s very fun lol. I feel so much more energetic 😀
Thank you doll! I meant it when I said that I was feeling really ambitious this year, lol.

Yes! 🙂 I’ll have to look at Pinterest recipes because they look delicious but I have no idea how to make them haha.
And I hope you do! Alcohol gets you very dehydrated lol

    Great post!
I’m in the process of introducing a big health and fitness change to my life, it really is hard in the beginning but small changes really do add up.
I haven’t attempted to cut out sugar altogether yet but I’m thinking of trying to cut it down gradually day by day!
Looking forward to seeing your future posts 😊 x

Yes, it’s definitely harder at the beginning but once you find your grove, I find it more motivating.
I have attempted and it’s so hard like you get really bad sugar cravings lol. I hated it. While I still haven’t managed to completely cut it out, I do feel so much better by cutting it down considerably.
