April 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Hey you guys!!

I’m a little behind on my blog posts. I decided to take a few days off over the weekend and a few others scattered throughout this week, which is why I didn’t post lifestyle posts. I haven’t worked on my blog as much all week and I also haven’t read your blogs but I will be getting back to all of that from here on out. I’m going to be working hard on both my blog and on my Instagram for Cleia‘s beauty challenge. šŸ™‚ So follow me over there if you’re not already.

Anyway, today I’m giving you mini reviews of my final Ipsy bag. I;m totally going to miss this subscription, but I’m hoping that Sephora and Boxycharm make up for this loss šŸ˜‰

Delectable by Cake Beauty
Triple Moisture Body Lotion in Coconut & Cream

ipsy_april2018_cakebeauty

Quick Description & Claims:

Nourish your skin with our coconut body lotion in travel size.Ā Made with coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe vera to soothe, smooth, and hydrate dry skin.

Mini Product Review:

Since it’s a travel sized lotion, I decided to use it as a hand cream instead and I absolutely love it! I’ve been using it all month long and I love anything with coconut in it even though I personally dislike the taste of the coconut water, lol.

Anyway, this body lotion is so smooth, very very soft, I can see why Kathleen Lights loves it so much, and honestly, I really really do as well! I hope to buy the full size when I run out of this one, or just buy the travel size to keep in my bag. šŸ™‚

Cruelty Free? Yes!

BellaPierre
Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder in Medium

ipsy_april2018_bellapierre

Quick Description & Claims

  • Weā€™re *bananas* for this color-correcting powder that camouflages redness, dark circles, and spots.
  • Since itā€™s a loose,Ā translucent formula it looks super natural (not cakey or heavy).
  • Itā€™ll brighten up your lids, too. This powder also works as an awesome base for any eyeshadow shade.Ā

Mini Product Review:

I thought this banana setting powder would have a deep yellow tone or that it wouldn’t suit me, but I started using it to set my eyeshadow primer first and really liked it. It brightened up my lids a bit and it doesn’t look shimmery. It also kind of helps mattify my lids on warmer days.

I’ve also recently started setting my face with it and I really love it! I didn’t test it for flashback unfortunately, so I’m not sure about that. Otherwise, I love it this product because of how finely milled it is and it feels so smooth. It looks natural on the skin.

Cruelty Free? Yes!

THEORIEĀ Hair Care
Detoxifying Hair Mask

ipsy_april2018_theorie

Quick Description & Claims:

  • As most hairstylists say, the key to healthy hair = a healthy scalp. With ingredients like shea butter and bamboo extract, this formula works wonders to keep your scalp balanced and happy.
  • The texture is so different from any hair masks weā€™ve tried. Itā€™s kind of grainy (not in an icky way) thanks to tiny bits of granulated charcoal that remove dirt and impurities from each and every strand.
  • It strengthens, nourishes, and cleanses your hair without stripping it of moisture. And the scent is sooo refreshing.

Mini Product Review:

I thought the scent was ok, and it’s also pretty subtle to me. I do like the variety of ingredients such as shea butter and bamboo extract as well as the granulated charcoal and tea tree oil. I didn’t think it would do anything to my hair because it didn’t feel like anything was happening when I was rinsing it out. BUT, once my hair dried it felt SUPER SOFT! My hair hasn’t felt this soft in a while and I really do try to do deep conditioning often.

Anyway, this hair mask was freaking amazing! I can’t stop running my fingers through my hair because it’s so soft and smooth. My hair feels so healthy, I wish I could find a product like this that was CF and affordable šŸ˜¦

Cruelty Free? Not sure–could not find it anywhere on their site.

Glamour Dolls
Romantic Rose Blending Brush

ipsy_april2018_glamourdolls

Quick Description & Claims:

Each brush is hand made with high quality bristles that start at a round base and taper to a point which can easily move around the contour of the eye with a simple and relaxed sweep. While our denserĀ Sperm Whale Brush is great for layering color or buffing out shadow, the longer and more tapered romantic rose brush is best for applying a light wash of color or feathering out the edges of your shadow.Ā

Mini Product Review:

I love this brush so much! I used it a lot to blend out shadows into my crease and it works so well. I think the shape of it really helps soften the harsh edges on the crease, it’s round at the bottom and this one is longer and tapered than other brushes I own. The bristles are really soft and this brush is simply beautiful! I personally don’t like the brand’s makeup as much, but their brushes are really nice.

Cruelty Free? Yes and vegan!

SLMissGlam
SL41 Brusher Brush

ipsy_april2018_slmissglam

Quick Description & Claims:

  • Itā€™s not just for blush! The versatile shape blends all your blush, highlighter, bronzer, and contour formulas beautifully.
  • From the purple and pink bristles to the shimmery handle, this fluffy, pretty brush had us at ā€œhello.ā€ (Itā€™s no secret that weā€™re suckers for anything unicorn-esque and sparkly.)

Mini Product Review:

I was lucky that I redeemed my points for this brush before I unsubscribed. It has purple and pink bristles (super beautiful) and I’ve heard lots of good things from SLMissGlam’s brushes.

This brush I mainly used for applying highlighter but I mean, you can use it for blush and bronzer and contour too. I love the versatility! šŸ™‚ The bristles are really soft. If you’re still subscribed, I recommend you check the products they have to redeem and get one of these brushes if they ever have them! They’re worth waiting for and they’re definitely much better than small ass skincare samples. šŸ™‚

Cruelty Free? Yes!

I’m sad that I won’t receive another Ipsy bag this month, but maybe in the future I will resubscribe when I have money to spend freely. For now, I think this bag was a great one to end one full year of Ipsy. I also appreciate that they’re starting to include more CF brands in each bag, and this bag was pretty much all CF, with the exception of THEORIE hair mask, which is kind of a grey area.

Anyway, thanks for always keeping up with my Ipsy reviews! If you love subscription boxes, I’m still subscribed to Play! by Sephora and Boxycharm, so follow me if you haven’t yet!! šŸ™‚

    1. Oooh, what scent is the body spray? Sweet? Floral? And where do you find them, just online?
I know I got so lucky. I hear SLMissGlam makes fantastic brushes but theyā€™re so darn expensive.

  1. I’m not a fan of coconut, the scent of coconut nor that coconut water but I do like coconut juice lol. That lotion still sounds nice though! Glad you ended up liking it so much! That hair mask sounds amazing, too bad you couldn’t find any info on their CF status! That brush you redeemed with your points is beautiful!

    1. I like using coconut oil in my foods and in skincare. I just dislike the taste of the coconut water lol. But yes, the lotion is really nice and very moisturizing! I think* they have other lotions but with different ingredients? And Britney told me she has a body spray too from this brand. šŸ™‚
Yeah, I looked everywhere! I don’t know why they’re so shady about it lol, but usually they’re not CF if it’s not in their packaging or site.
      I know, so gorgeous!!

      1. Cooking with coconut oil is terrifying!! It splatters so much! And boyfriend and I don’t like the smell of it. We had a can of coconut oil spray once, we couldn’t stand the coconut scent!! I dislike the taste of coconut water too, ick! Do you like coconut juice?
I’ve never heard of the brand before!
Yeah sometimes they are though! You just have to email them! Most companies get back to you in a day or so!

        1. Really? I haven’t had that problem with splattering. And I like the taste of eggs made with coconut oil lmao. And coconut juice…I don’t think I’ve had that yet. How different is it than the regular water?

          1. I’ll look for it at the store later today if I can remember, but I’ve honestly only seen coconut water, I know because Alex used to drink coconut water and we’d look for different brands lol.
