Project Pan — Update #3 + Empties

Happy Thursday!

I’m not “officially” back to blogging, I just had to get this post out because it’s in collaboration with the lovely Andi from Ever Impractical.

My mom and sis have already left and we’re alone over here again, trying to get back into some sort of routine. I simply just have to figure out what posts to put out first because I’m currently blanking and I’m thinking on whether I should start posting only Monday – Thursday with the occasional Fashion Fridays and Friday Favorites. But I don’t know.. We’ll see..

Let’s just get on with today’s post!

Product Empties

This is a combination of my project pan empties and my regular empties. Products listed in my Project Pan will marked by an asterisk (*).

Note: Some products were added to the project pan list shortly after my last update, because they were getting ready to expire.

I will briefly tell you about each product and link to reviews if I wrote any on them.

Haircare:

  • * Big Sexy Hair Sulfate-Free Volumizing Conditioner
    • Didn’t love it because I felt like it weighed my hair down and it didn’t volumize it at all. Only thing I liked was that it’s sulfate-free and it lathered up well.
  • Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing Shampoo (read review)
    • Like it because it helps manage my frizz
  • * Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing Conditioner (read review)
    • Like it because it helps manage my frizz

Bath & Body:

  • Alba Botanica Sensitive Sunscreen SPF50 Broad Spectrum (x2)
    • Liked the formula and the fact that it was a spray-on sunscreen. Easy for on-the-go.
  • The Honest Co. Honest Shampoo + Body Wash in Sweet Orange Vanilla
    • Love how great this smells even though I’m not a fan of vanilla scents for body washes, but it’s such a gentle formula. I mainly used this for my son but I grabbed a bit when I had run out of my bar soap.
  • * Malibu Tan Hemp Coconut Body Moisturizer (was added to the list after last update)
    • By far my favorite body lotion EVER. I haven’t been able to find it again but I remain optimistic that I’ll come across it again and I will definitely repurchase.
  • Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lotion
    • Again, mainly for my son but great for adults too. Gentle and non-greasy formula and really nourishes and hydrates the skin well in any season.
  • Bolero English Rose Blossom Pure Vegetable Soap
    • I came across this bar soap at the dollar store and grabbed it and I absolutely love it! I grabbed a few more because I liked the formula and the scents they have.
  • Tom’s of Maine Fluoride-Free Propolis & Myrrh Toothpaste
    • I love this toothpaste because I stopped liking the extremely minty ones, lol. I’m looking for another brand but for now this one is good and I always repurchase.

Skincare & Makeup:

Moisturizers/Creams:

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks
    • It worked at first and I was actually impressed, but it can only do so much.
  • * First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (was added to the list after last update)
    • I didn’t love this at first and I think it was because I had received this sample during the summer when it was extremely hot, but it’s a nice one for use during the colder and cooler months. Would love to repurchase a full-size.
  • * Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer with Echinacea GreenEnvy (read review)
    • I really liked this one and how quickly my skin absorbed it.
  • * Glam Glow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer (read review)
    • I did kind of like this moisturizer, especially because it was pressed and it dissolved on the skin immediately. I don’t think I would purchase the full-size because I don’t think they’re CF.
  • * Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream (was added to the list after last update) — (read review)
    • It was a bit oily so I didn’t like it as much.
  • * Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate (was added to the list after last update) — (read review)
    • I was excited to try it because everyone talks about how great Kiehl’s is but I just couldn’t make this one work for me.
  • * Derma-e Hydrating Day Creme (read review)
    • Took forever to finish but I loved it and how hydrated my skin felt all year-round, especially during the cold winter months.

Masks, Makeup & Everything Else:

projectpan_empties_july2018_masks_creams_makeup

  • * Skinfood Marine Food Gel Mask (Oyster)
    • — I will be posting a full review of this soon, but let’s just say I really liked it.
  • * Tony Moly I’m Real Rice Mask Sheet
    • — I love TM’s products, they never disappoint. And I’ve been loving their rice products so much but have been having a hard time finding them at stores. These masks will always be stocked in my vanity though.
  • * South Mane Under Eye Gels (was added to the list after last update) — (read review)
    • — I liked but these but they do slip a little, but they’re also pretty affordable so I might just get them again another time. Still have one more pair left.
  • * Pacifica Ultra CC Cream Radiant Foundation (read review)
    • — Was glad to finally be done with this one. It oxidized SO MUCH inside the bottle, so it was several shades darker than my skin tone. I like it but they unfortunately only have two shades..
  • * Jersey Shore Spa Anti-Aging Lip & Hand Polish
    • — Loved this stuff so much because of all the yummy ingredients. Definitely made my lips super lush and soft.
  • * NYX Nude Lip Primer (read review)
    • — At first I liked this but eventually I saw no point in using it, so I’m glad I’ve used it all up.
  • Burt’s Bees Strawberry Moisturizing Lip Balm
    • — One of my favorite lip balms, but I’m looking for a different brand because I got some bump in my top lip and it hasn’t gone away so I don’t know if it was this lip balm or something else..
  • * Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter (read review)
    • — One of my favorite highlighters because it looked good on my skin tone. I’m so sad it’s finished..
  • * Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (was added to the list after last update)
    • — I didn’t see a difference between this one and the e.l.f. Cosmetics Mineral Infused Face Primer, soo… Probably would never buy the full size.
  • * e.l.f. Cosmetics Concealer
    • — Liked it at first and it’s creamy but this one also oxidized, and it was kind of hard to blend. Made my face look a little cakey too.

Total Empties:

It has been another two good months and I managed to get the same amount of empties as last time. The amount of project pan empties went up by 6, and my regular empties went down by 5, so I broke even. So here’s the breakdown:

I have a total of 27 empties.

Project Pan Empties: 18 | Regular Empties: 9

* * *

I think I could have finished so many more products but masks are so hard to use up, and I didn’t focus on my project pan list for two and a half weeks due to family being in town. I’m also quite pleased with the amount of makeup that I finally used up, and I’ve been thinking about doing a declutter because I haven’t touched many products.

But that’s it for now, I hope that next update I can finish up a bunch more products.

Please don’t forget to check out Andi’s post!

  1. Oh wow girl you really finished off a lot of products, especially the project pan products – you finished off way more than me! I’m amazed by how you got through that highlighter! I’m glad to hear about that Glamglow moisturizer – I have a sample of it floating around that I’ve been putting off using.

    1. I know I’m so happy I got this many empties and I’ve been working through so many products almost daily and they’re still not quite empty yet haha.
And that highlighter was VERY small, and I used it nearly DAILY and I would go back and dip my brush several times because I wanted it to pop more lmao. I’m actually quite disappointed that it was the first highlighter to go because I loved it that much 😦 LOL

  2. Hi Rossy!! So excited to see a post from you even if you’re not “officially” back yet. ❤ 😀

I would love try something by The Honest Co. that body wash sounds delicious!! I LOVE Tom's of Maine Toothpaste but I've never seen that red one?! What flavor is it!? Also, I love First Aid Ultra Repair Cream in the cooler months too, I noticed it's not so effective in the heat. & OH MY GOSH, I had gotten a bump on my top lip too but I have no idea from what product! Mine has gone away now, thankfully. Hope yours has as well!

Can't believe you can finish up so many of those little samples. I especially hated the Clinique Pep Start & Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing things, they were both way too oily for me.

❤ ❤ Hope you had the best time ever with your mom & sister, babe! Can't wait to hear all about it! 😀

    1. I’m hoping to be back officially tomorrow (Monday). I’m working on a short post since the weekend was a bit hectic around here lmao.
The Honest Co. is actually quite affordable in my opinion, and it was founded by Jessica Alba 🙂 lol
The Tom’s of Maine toothpaste is the Propolis & Myrrh flavor (can I really call it flavor??)
Mine has gone away a bit, but my lips are like super dry right now so I still feel it a little and I think my crusty lips make it look like I still have it? LMAO TMI gross haha
I force myself to finish up the products I like the least LMAO, the eye creams can be used up fairly quickly, or at least I use them up quickly because I use them twice a day, at night and in the morning the next day if I feel like my under eyes could use a bit of moisture. I also use some of my eye creams on my lids too even though you’re “not supposed to”, but I’m usually very careful about only applying in my crease.. Idk. I guess it depends, but there are eye creams designed for 360 use just in case you want one.

Yeah they really were, I was more disappointed by the Kiehl’s product.

Thanks girly! I certainly did and I miss them both already! 🙂 Will be publishing a few posts of the vacation pretty soon 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! I’m pleased with the amount as well, and the products I like the least I force myself to use up 🙂 the products I like or love take me a while to get through since I don’t want to use them up as fast LMAO

    1. Haha yeah I did, I’m very proud of myself because it does take forever for me too, and like you, I tend to forget about many of them, especially if I don’t like them as much haha.
