Fashion Fridays: Black Leaf Print Summer Dress

Happy Friday!!

I can’t believe I haven’t done an OOTD post since June when I did a collab with my girls Hunida and Courtney! Wow! And before that my last “official” OOTD post was from April when I had done a Winter to Spring transitional ootd with Angela.

Gosh, I’m so bad at this lol. I know I had said I was aiming for two OOTDs a month, but man, it’s so hard to find the time to go shoot and also, where?! I need to go look for awesome spots for OOTDs. Also, Alex is learning to take photos so please give us a break ;D

Anyway, moving on to what you’re here for.

Sarah did a Must Have Summer Dresses post for her blog back in July, and one of the dresses was a gorgeous green leaf print boho dress. The print of that dress looked so similar to mine and she said to do an outfit post, so that’s my inspo for this OOTD, lol.

I’ve had this black leaf print halter dress for literal YEARS! I bought it from H&M for about $20 USD or so. I love it so much from the beautiful black and white print, to how lightweight the fabric is, to how flowy and comfortable is.

I feel like anytime I describe an OOTD for you I always end up saying those words: lightweight, flowy, comfortable. But those are the kinds of clothes I like to wear. H&M has some of the most comfortable and chic clothes, I would shop there all the time if I could, and I know Sarah would (or does) too. šŸ™‚

This is one of those dresses that I cannot seem to let go of because I just love it so much. I wear it every single year at least 4 times in the season, and I think it would be a good Summer to Autumn transition dress as well, I just have to figure out what to pair it with. *Give me ideas y’all!*

      1. Those are the best pieces!! The ones that you can keep wearing & wearing year after year. ā¤ He really did do great with the photos. I tried to have my boyfriend help me with my clothing haul post, but nope, I ended up just doing self-timer hahaha!

          2. I’m wondering the same but it seems they won’t release any details until later this year. And yes it looks amazing, I ended up looking at spoilers (oh well!) Lol. But yeah, I want to try it at least once and then opt out. If Ipsy plus is cheaper I may give it a shot again, we’ll see.

          8. What did it have? And is the Lola box only beauty? Or is it mixed? I can’t remember. Once I would really like to try is the POP Sugar Must Haves. They send home decor every once in a while LOL. A blogger friend of mine who used to be subscribed to it a long time ago got a freaking scarf šŸ˜€

          9. I think it’s mixed! Last time I got a bar soap but this month was all makeup. I hope to get the post up soon. šŸ˜› Isn’t POP Sugar Must Haves like $50 though?? I think FabFitFun is a great one for that price!

A lot of my clothes are from there. Also that last photo of you and Ciel is too precious! And Alex has done an excellent job on the photography… new career perhaps? Does he even need to improve? Heā€™s so good already!

  10. My goodness girl, you are just gorgeous!! And the dress is gorgeous too, lol! I absolutely love the style, the black & white color scheme, and how flowy it is. I am definitely the same way with veering toward flowy and comfortable clothes haha.
    I’m not an expert by any means, but I think Alex did a pretty great job taking the photos and your poses were fantastic! OOTDS are hard. O.O
    Ooh and I agree, I think this would be the perfect summer-autumn transition dress maybe paired with tights, a sweater, and ankle boots? šŸ™‚

      Aren't comfy the clothes just the BEST?! And it's even better when they're cute and actually kind of fashionable šŸ™‚
      Yeah, he didn't do too bad for someone who doesn't take photos often šŸ™‚ and he actually suggest I do the pose where I'm sitting on the ground to show off the dress, lol.
      I do have tights but no ankle boots, I actually really want some wedges LOL. I'll have to figure out which pieces would look good. Thanks for the suggestion!! xx

        Wedges would work well! I have a pair of ankle boots that are also wedges and I adore them. They are my go-to for fall. I actually got them at Rack Room shoes for about $50, similar to these: https://www.rackroomshoes.com/cs/womens-boots-wedges . I don't know if you have a Rack Room store though?

        1. Those ankle boot wedges are so cute, I’ve actually been wanting a pair just like that for such a long time! Lol. I hope I find a pair at Ross or something. And I don’t think we have a Rack Room here, it might be like the Trend Shoes store we got at the mall.
