Hello my dolls!
This week has been busy busy and I’m doing my best to schedule posts in advanced.. I’m so eager to start my Halloween Series next month, I’ve been trying to work really hard on that so I hope you like the looks I create. Let’s unbox this box! š
Theme: Next-Gen Beauty
So the box design is new and so is the bag. I don’t know if they’re trying something new for a bit or completely ditching the cotton bags, but I actually liked this bag better than the cotton ones. It actually zips and I love that it’s 100% recyclable. š
Contents:
- Ole Henriksen Truth Serum
- Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly
- TooFaced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer
- Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation SPF25 in Light
- Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black
- Tom Ford Black Orchid Perfume Sample (This Month’s Bonus)
First Impressions:
I’m so tired of getting products from the Sephora Collection. And mascaras no less. I feel like I get these nearly every month. I have more than enough to last me almost two years lmao. I know they have to push their brand somehow but still…I know they have a ton more brands in there that we either haven’t seen or rarely make an appearance in these boxes.
Clinique makes really good skincare products so I’m excited to try the hydrating jelly, which might come in handy for winter? Otherwise I’ll save it for summer next year.
I hear a lot of hype around Ole Henriksen and being that this is a serum, I’m really hoping I like it. Serums are some of my fave skincare products because they have improved and benefited my skin in many ways.
Two products that are new to me are the TooFaced face primer and the Marc Jacobs Shameless foundation. I know people love the face primer so I hope it works out well for me. As for the foundation, I usually skip out on these because they never send me the right shade, but this one might come in handy for one of my Halloween looks, lol.
Lastly, the perfume sample.. I like it, not going to lie, that’s very rare.. I LOVE that it’s floral and has bergamot BUT it’s too strong for me which makes me incredibly sad. Alex sprayed a bit and it immediately gave me a headache. And since he didn’t bother to take it out of the packaging, it’s been sitting on my vanity and I’m currently working on this post and I can freaking smell it!! ALL DAYY!! So yeah, it’s very long lasting. If you like it, you might like the fact that it truly lasts LOL.
Why I’m Canceling
As for why I’m cancelling…
I’ve just gotten increasingly bored with this subscription. Yes it’s cheap, but the products are still very small samples. And they are crowding my vanity. The ones I like don’t even last and the full size costs an arm and a leg.
But getting back to my point, I’m no longer excited to get this box like I once was. I feel like ever since I subscribed to Boxycharm, I like Boxycharm more because it’s only $11 USD more and I get FULL-SIZE EVERYTHING!
Another reason is that I have been constantly getting the same brands, it’s Sephora Collection, MUFE, Clinique and a few others that I see constantly and I just want to try something new. Boxycharm on the other hand is perfect because I have been introduced to so many new brands (to me).
I’m sure I will miss it next month but I’m happy to put all my focus into reviewing the items that I will be getting from only ONE box. That makes me feel excited because I will be able post other content that usually takes a back seat to my subscription posts.
I wrote A Year of Play! by Sephora a few months back and also shared my thoughts on the subscription if any of you would like to check that out.
So what did you guys get in your box?

It’s nice that the perfume lasts but not if you don’t like the scent! That would be so annoying if you have to keep smelling it over and over.
I totally get why you’re cancelling, Boxycharm is so much better! I would be annoyed getting all those Sephora collection samples too…

Ugh yeah, my head would be spinning if I wore that even for a day, I’d cave and end up changing LOL
It finally got annoying for me lol. It was about damn time haha. I’d rather pay twice the amount to get full sized items. I don’t regret it, lol.

It sounds like Boxycharm is a far better subscription with the full size products and only $11 more!! It makes sense to me that you are canceling. š

Yes they’re so much better. I also want to save a bit of money to try one of those quaterly boxes, like the pop sugar must haves, they send lots of lifestyle stuff and it’s all pretty neat š

Yeah, I’m glad I never signed up for Play. It bores me and you never get that much variety!

I’ve totally fell in love with serums after receiving a few in boxes too, they really do wonders for the skin, huh?! That’s such a bummer that they didn’t send you the right foundation shade, I’d love to try anything by Marc Jacobs! I totally get why you’re cancelling! I started getting bored, too! š

Don’t they?! I totally need to get one of my favorite serums, I actually received it for free but I loved it so much and I’m willing to pay the full price for it lol.
I think I have their highliner crayon which is super smooth and one of their lipsticks, I got them as birthday freebies. I wonder what they’ll have for my birthday month, I’m excited. I don’t know what to buy from there but I kind of do want it to be something big… BUT… I’m also kind of wanting to buy a Jeffree Star palette and those are so pricey!! š¦ I jst want to treat myself for my birthday, I actually have been doing really good most of the year with not buying makeup. I’m so proud of myself lol.

Which is your favorite serum?? I’ve been using the sample by First Aid I got in a sub box!
I’ve never tried a single thing by Marc Jacobs!! So spendy & high-class lol.
Oooh babe! YES! Treat yourself for your birthday, you seriously deserve it!! ā¤ I got the Bite Beauty lippie set for my birthday in June! I hope they have some fun gifts for you!! ā¤ Which Jeffree Starr palette do you have your eye on the most?!

It’s the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum, it was sent to me for free through Brandbacker and I actually wrote a post on it long ago and I also posted my results š it was AMAZING!
Yeah, Marc Jacobs is very high class, anytime I hear the beauty gurus say that I roll my eyes. They have stopped using affordable products once they get all rich and famous lol.
I want to buy the Blood Sugar palette, only because it has so many redsss!!! š š š š I told Alex, maybe he’ll buy it for me LOL (doubt it, lmao)

Oh okay, I’ve never heard of it but, I’ll check it out when I’m looking for a new serum to buy. š Haha yeah, I totally understand why they’d wanna use the more expensive makeup as the get more famous & more money but, then… it’s kind of like? We’re not getting richer though? Right?
I love love love red eyeshadows!!! I’m gonna go look up that palette now. ;D I hope he gets it for you, babe!!!

I love shopping on Amazon so no worries. š Do you shop on there a lot? Lol, yeah for my boyfriend’s birthday I never buy him a gift… just a huge steak dinner. I wonder if he prefers a gift?
What day is your birthday?? ā¤

Yes and no, yes when I have money and I can find things on there for cheaper, no when I can find it in-store? LOL. I don’t really do online clothes shopping because not everything fits me the same. and I don’t like going through the hassle of returning shit to be honest lol
hahaha you know what they say, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, LMAO
the 26th ā¤ š

Oh okay! I was just wondering. š haha, a lot of people buy everything off Amazon but, I’m the same way as you. I’d rather find it in-store if I can help it. Online clothes shopping is hard! I end up not even returning the clothes & letting it sit to waste in my closet if I don’t like it, to be honest. It’s so bad!
Eeek! So exciting, happy birthday month!! ;D

i just know myself i wouldn’t be proactive about returning things or i’d leave them off to side and tell myself “i’ll get to them later” and then later becomes tomorrow, and tomorrow becomes 30 days lol
