Crown Pro Fuego Collection Eyeshadow Palette Review + 4 Looks

Hello again! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope everyone had a great week. I tried my best to chill but I just had to do lots of cleaning and projects/crafts. ๐Ÿ™‚ I did get to work on some blog stuff as well and I’m trying to schedule several posts in advance so I don’t have to worry much about them, lol. Let’s get on with this post.

I received this palette in my July Boxycharm, and I’m barely reviewing it. I know, I’m sorry! I seriously need to better organize my content because I constantly push things back lol.

Product Description from Crown Pro:

Made up of rich warm-toned shades, this creamy, high-pigmented palette gives you exactly what you need to create infinite flawless eye looks. The 5 shimmer shades perfectly complement the 5 matte shades, making this the palette for all your glam #goals.

As of October 2nd, 2018 when this post was published, this palette is $9.99 on their site.

Packaging

The packaging is very simple both inside and out. It is made of cardboard as most palettes are. As always, I love that it has a magnetic closure. It feels pretty sturdy and it’s perfect for travel in my opinion as it’d fit just about anywhere. I also love that this palette has a mirror and it’s big enough to see my eyes perfectly.

Formula & Application

These shades are as pigmented as they claim, and they’re also very creamy. When you dip your brush into the pan you do get some kick back, but there’s hardly any fallout when applied to the eyes.

I found a few of the mattes, specifically the darker ones, apply a bit patchy. The shimmers however are out of this world in terms of pigment and they’re so creamy and smooth. I found it’s easier and better to apply the shimmer with my finger than with a brush, but I do use a brush if I want more precision.

Color Story

The palette has 5 mattes and 5 shimmers, I think it’s a good balance. The color story is pretty simple: warm toned and kind of neutral โ€” perfect for Autumn. You can definitely do some glam looks with this palette, however, the darker shades on the bottom row are not that dark so you’d be able to do a subtle smokey eye at best.

All the matte shades do compliment each and every shimmer, you could make so many different looks but I gravitated towards the same ones. I almost wish these shades had names but sadly they don’t.

Swatches

Swatched left to right, top to bottom..

Pros & Cons:

Pros:

  • Very pigmented
  • Very creamy
  • Very blendable
  • Shimmers are not chunky
  • Shades compliment each other
  • Little to no fallout when applied
  • Perfect for Autumn!
  • Great size for travel
  • Perfect for people who love warm-toned palettes

  • Great palette for beginners

Cons:

  • A lot of kickback in some shades
  • Darker (matte) shades apply patchy
  • You don’t get many dark shades for smokey eyes
  • Not great for people who don’t love warm-toned palettes (there’s a ton out there)

Makeup Looks

I didn’t create many looks and I also felt like I kept gravitating towards the same ones, but I did my best to make them look slightly different.

Look #1:

This look didn’t quite get me excited for this palette, but that’s because I wasn’t sure what to do with it until I kept playing with it lol.

Look #2:

I was really digging this look and I love how it almost has a reddish hue to it!

Look #3:

For being a warm-toned palette, I appreciated being able to create a look like this that looks pretty, kind of smokey, and purple-y.. This is probably my favorite look!

P.S. I didn’t wear lipstick because I was on my way out to the dentist..

Look #4:

I love that even though the shades are really pigmented, I can still create everyday looks.
I did mess up my winged liner oh well lol.

Which is your favorite look??

This is a great, high-quality palette and I think it’s perfect for fall season, I’m glad it came early. I will be playing around with it some more. If it’s really $9.99 compared to $29.99 as Boxycharm claimed on their site for some reason, it’s a bargain!

Do you prefer warm toned or cool toned palettes?
Would you ever buy this palette?

    1. isn’t it? I love when it’s balanced between the finishes because often, palettes have way more shimmers and it’s like, “okay, so I have to reach for another palette??”
but yeah, you mentioned wanting shades for fall right? this is a good palette, morphe has a few more as well ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. As much as I love shimmers, sometimes you just want something soft and subtle haha.
It is a gorgeous palette for fall for sure! Even though I found that one from Covergirl, I still want to look into what Morphe has. I like options lol. XD

        1. Yes and thatโ€™s why I love mattes, theyโ€™re pretty and subtle or dark and dramatic without all the shimmer.
Oh yeah morphe has so many, I havenโ€™t heard good things about their matte formulas which is a shame because I so much prefer those, but their shimmers are so good.

  1. That eyeshadow palette is always always always on sale on their website but the “original” price is $30 I think. Anyways, $10 is a freakin’ steal for that. So many pretty brown colors, like you said– so perfect for fall!!

I know you said you messed up your wing liner in #4 but I like how it looks a lot!! My fave look is #2 but they’re all so beautiful (& so are you!!) โ™ก

    1. That makes sense, but it’s weird to me that their website shows it as regular price and not sale price? Usually websites have the full price crossed off but not this one lol. It must not be a good seller if it’s always on sale then lol.
Awh thanks ๐Ÿ˜€ love ya! โค xx

  2. I hated this palette, I ended up giving it to my mom. It looks exactly like any other warm toned palette I own and isn’t anything special in my opinion. The looks always look the same and the darker shades don’t even show up dark, its so hard to create dimension in the eye looks with it. Ugh, I was so disappointed by this one.

    1. You’re right, it’s nothing special, it’s true that it does look like every other palette with neutrals and warm shades but to the palette’s defense, I don’t have many of those so I personally didn’t mind.
And yeah, that was my only real problem with it, that the darker shades are not that dark, but I’m fine with it. I do have a ton of darker shades I could use with it ๐Ÿ™‚ I do think it’s a great palette for beginners, ooh I should update my post and put that LOL

      1. Yeah thats why I said for me it’s an unnecessary palette. Most people own warm tones now a days and this is just a replica of everything else. lol
Yeah I’m not a fan using multiple palettes with each other, I just think that’s too much work for something a palette should do on its own. Plus when you could get a way cheaper palette that looks the same from Colourpop, it’s not worth it.

    1. I think theyโ€™re originally crown brush? They sell brushes lol. Crown pro is like their makeup line I think? But itโ€™s the same one. But yeah it would be good for everyday looks but a lot of these shades are also really warmed toned lol.

  3. This is my kind of palette– I loveeee these shades! So great for autumn too. I can’t choose a favorite- they all are gorg. Also- can we talk about your eye liner?! It’s perfect- how do you get the lines so straight?

    1. This palette got me a bit excited for fall but now I find myself wanting a few other different shades, Olive tones to be exact ๐Ÿ˜Š but yes itโ€™s a good one for fall.
The eyeliner thing. Well… it has taken me so much practice lol and also a lot of patience if I try to do it in like 5 mins Iโ€™ll probably ruin it quick lol. I still mess up every once in a while so Iโ€™m not 100% there. You could also try the tape trick which worked for me a lot when I first started using eyeliner lol.

        1. yeah i hear you, always need some darker shades. ๐Ÿ™‚
