Field of Dreams — Sunflower Farm

Heyy guys!!

Quick question before I begin this post: did anyone see yesterday’s post on your feed? It was an eyeshadow palette review and for some reason it didn’t get ANY views or likes, which led me to believe that maybe it didn’t appear on your reader? I don’t know.. I’m just trying to figure it out.. Hopefully WP isn’t glitching again since I know a lot of you have problems with comments going to the spam folder… Anyway, just curious, let me know if you saw it or not, so I can look into it if I need to. 🙂 TIA!

Ok, back to today’s post!

I’m so happy to finally be sharing these photos with you! This was indeed the field of dreams because I haven’t stopped obsessing over sunflowers since I went to the farm. I had such a great time and I want to show you all just how beautiful it was to see so many sunflowers in one place.

I went to the sunflower farm the day before we went to Seattle for the day, and I was planning on going by myself because it seemed like no one wanted to go, but in the end, my dad’s wife accompanied me and we met up with my sister in law, her two kids, and one of Alex’s cousin.

On the way there, I had car troubles (radiator blew) and ended up turning around less than a mile out to drop my car off at my dad’s apartments and taking their car instead. Phew! So glad I was near the house and not already on the freeway. That would have been a DISASTER!

If you guys remember when I went to the Lavender DAZE Festival over the summer, the sunflower farm is basically way out there in the same area, an hour and a half out of Portland. When we got there it was pretty much empty. We went the day before their Sunflower Festival, and I’m glad we chose to go that day because we basically got the entire place to OURSELVES!

They have an indoor place with ice cream, fresh lemonade, cookies and marmalades of all kinds! So thankful that they set up shop at our farmer’s market because I can get their stuff whenever I want. Outside they have a kids play area, and a corn pit that the kids absolutely enjoyed!

I’ll shut up and let you take in all these photos (with occasional comments of course, lol):

It was so nice to walk in between them, they exude beauty!

This was the biggest sunflower in the entire farm, so majestic! ❤
It was literally as big as my head!! 😀

These close-ups are EVERYTHING!

I was literally so happy just being here! It was really hard for me to leave out a bunch of other photos but these were the best ones that I took.

This was a dream come true! ❤

The eyeshadow palette review hasn’t shown up on my Reader today & not yesterday either. I wonder why that happens sometimes?! WP is really getting on my nerves lol. I’ll go check it out after this one!!

Car troubles are the worst! So lucky that you were able to grab your dad’s car! I hope yours is fixed soon!

I would love to play in the corn LOL why does it look so fun?!? The photo of you with the biggest sunflower is too cute! You look so little!! 😍

I’ve never been to a sunflower field but if I remember correctly I’ve been in a tulip field that was kind of the same!! ♡

Thanks for letting me know. I ended up reposting late at night but who knows. WP is always crashing or glitching lol.
It was amazing just seeing so many sunflowers, I totally want some in my backyard. And the corn mazes are super fun! Is it just a corn maze or a pumpkin patch too?

I saw that palette review post yesterday & commented on it…but then in my reader today, it showed that I hadn’t liked it, which I thought was strange because I like every post I read. It does seem like something is going on! Then again, I’ve noticed the WP reader oftentimes gets messed up. I’ll get emails for posts that don’t show up in the reader, or they will be in the reader but I won’t get emails… -_-

Anyway, this sunflower field looks like an absolute DREAM! What a shockingly gorgeous field. It’s so cheerful! Sunflowers are my favorite and this is just beautiful. How fun that you were able to go! Also, I’ve never seen sunflowers so big!! They are clearly happy there haha. Also, that sucks about your car! I wouldn’t even know what to do if that happened. O.O

You know, now that you mention it that has happened to me too. I distinctly remember liking posts and when I look back it says I haven’t and I’m like wth! I know I clicked like!! WP has so many problems right now.
And I ended up reposting the eyeshadow palette post late at night just in case and sure enough, it got more views so I wonder what happened that made it not appear on people’s feeds.
Ugh yess getting to see the sunflowers was a dream come true!! I wish I could have stayed and take many more photos but I didn’t really have any to take photos of me as everyone sort of wondered off on their own lol. I don’t blame them, they were so beautiful to look at lol.
That was the worst!! On my way out, just a few blocks from my dads wife apartment I saw the steam coming out of the drivers side hood, and I’m like oh no, oh no,..I pulled over into the nearest parking lot got out and opened the hood and it smelled of coolant and it was sputtering out of the radiator I was like “seriously, NOW?!” So I told my dads wife we had to go back and I asked if it was ok to take her car. I was panicking on the way back because I wasn’t sure if it would make it and we were less than two miles away lol. I’m so glad it worked out the way it did despite the car troubles lol. Alex fixed the car right away when he got home and we got to drive it to Seattle the next day haha.

WordPress really is having issues lately. I don’t understand why things get so messed up with comments and likes and posts not even showing up. I hate when I scroll through my reader to pick up where I left off and suddenly new posts show up as older than the last one I read and I hadn’t even seen them before. -_-
Oh my gosh that sounds so scary with the car. That totally sucks! At least you were able to take their car to still go see the sunflowers. And how helpful that Alex was able to fix it when he got home!! We would be calling all the mechanics in town to see who could get it in lol. It definitely would come in handy to have some car expertise!

It makes me not want to upgrade my domain and site if there will be problems like that often. Eh idk lol. Maybe I’ll wait it out till I really run out of space but I’m so close 😭😭
Omg that has happened to me too!!!! Lol. I literally have scrolled to where I left off, and you know me, I get behind quite often and some times DAYS worth of content will disappear from my feed. It will say from like 5 days ago to 2 days ago so then I have to go to people’s individual blogs to read their posts. So annoying.
Yeah thank goodness we know about cars more or less it was just a simple radiator replacement, though I panicked because sometimes stores don’t have them in Stock and you have to wait a day or two for the parts to arrive. But then again I can say it was a blessing in disguise that it happened on my way out and nearby the house than to have had it happened either way out of portland in the middle of nowhere or on our way to Seattle. Both would have been worse.
And I actually wanted to be a mechanic when I was in HS. I took automotive technology for three years straight. It was nice. I learned a lot. A few things I know better than Alex 😉 lol. Soon I’m going to do an entire engine swap and a possible engine rebuild by myself now that Alex knows how lol.

Hunida was saying something similar about not wanting to renew her plan when they are so rude! WordPress really needs to get their act together because their loyal customers are getting pissed lol.
I think that is just so cool that you wanted to be a mechanic and you studied automotive technology!! Women are so underrepresented in that field so I just love that you have a passion for it. How cool that you know how to do all that! An entire engine rebuild or swap sounds so intense. How awesome that you know how to do that!! Your son will grow up knowing a lot about cars too haha, which will come in handy for him later on.

no kidding, i’ve been here for three years haha… i may end up having to delete a ton of other posts and photos or find a new site host 😦
thanks! it’s so true, and men don’t often think that women know anything lol. i sure told alex when we first started dating that he was doing a few things wrong, and when we went to a mechanic he knew for a second opinion i was like “told you so” xD felt good to know more than him not gonna lie lol

Ugh what a struggle! I’ve noticed that is the biggest problem around here on WordPress–the lack of space. I hope you are able to upgrade without too much of a hassle.
Hahaha I totally get it! Of course it would feel good, it’s definitely a field in which women aren’t usually taken seriously. 😉 Good for you haha!!

Be still my heart!!! haha, These pictures ❤ ❤ This is just a stunning field, and I can tell you all are having the best time. I'm glad you guys weren't on the highway too when the car troubles happened- so scary. But anyways- that's so fun they have all those ice cream & lemonade stands and activities for the kiddos. Thanks for sharing, this looks like it is from a dream!

PS. Your post did show up, but I just saw it today. I know WP has been weird with posting things immediately in the past.
