MASSIVE October 2018 Collective Birthday Haul!

SURPRISE! I’m back!

I missed you guys and blogging so so much! I have been gone for nearly two and a half weeks and I enjoyed my time off immensely! I will be updating you tomorrow on what I’ve been up to, for anyone who is interested! šŸ˜‰

Today I have a very special post, in fact, I haven’t done one of these in a very long time. And since last month was my birthday month, you better believe I treated myself to the MAX. I shopped until I dropped haha.

This is my BIGGEST [collective] haul to date and right now my wallet is completely empty so I’m paying dearly for all of this but I’m so excited to dig in and try all kinds of new products and will have enough to get me through the next couple months. I’m so excited to start testing products to write up their reviews šŸ™‚

Anyway, I did make a video to go along with this because I’m also trying to put up some content on my YouTube. I do also give some shout-outs to like four different people so, just saying šŸ˜‰

Watch my October Collective Haul video:

For those of you who do not care for videos, I also made sure to take photos of everything so let’s get started!

Clothing & Accessories

I bought all of this from three different stores. Burlington, H&M and Ross.

I got two crop sweaters from Burlington, which are the mustard and the burgundy one. From H&M I bought a pair of black thigh-high socks and the olive sweater. Lastly, from Ross, the grey & pale pink blanket scarf which is super comfy!

Some of you have already see the mustard crop sweater with the black thigh-high socks last month in an OOTD collab with Courtney. It’s one of my favorite outfits that I’ve put together.

Fred Meyer

Fred Meyer is a local grocery/drugstore, I’m not sure if they have stores outside of the northwest. But anyway, I got two things from here:

Impress Nails which are olive and they’re kind of festive so I might end up wearing them for the holiday season. I also got a Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color in Turnt Orange, as I’ve been eyeing orange shades lately.

Walmart

I actually got these two products on two separate occasions.

I finally got my hands on the Coty AirSpun Loose Face Powder. I hear so many good things about it so I finally decided to buy it to try it. I also bought the e.l.f. Nourishing Night Cream because I ran out of mine last winter.

Sephora

I literally only got one product from here because everything is so damn expensive. Shout-out to Hunida for recommending the following product to me!

I got the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. I’ve been wanting to try more products from this brand for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. I also decided to grab the Bite Beauty Lippie Set! Cleia told me that I needed to get on these ASAP because they’re amazing so I’m excited to try them!

Target

I was only supposed to pick one thing up but I couldn’t help myself when I saw the clearance isle…LOL

Also, forgive the lack of quality of this photo. I had taken photos of EVERYTHING but somehow the photos from my Target haul went missing?!

I picked up the Thayer’s Rose Petal Toner under Ingrid Madison‘s recommendation. I’m so excited to try it! I’m almost out of my current toner.

From clearance are these products from Botanics. Their Cleansing Cream and their 3-in-1 Micellar Cleanser. I like to stock pile before I run out of stuff. šŸ™‚

Ulta (in-store)

I decided to leave some stuff left to purchase when I went in for my free birthday gift (which by the way was a huge let down for me).

Here are all the products I got in-store:

  • Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo
  • Love Beauty & Planet Sugar & Rose Peace and Glow Cream Body Scrub
  • NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Beige
  • Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea
  • Lancome Monseiur Big Mascara (bday freebie)

The products I’m most excited about from this haul are the facial spray because it’s one of those that everyone seems to love. And the body scrub smells absolutely heavenly! My skin is in need of a good scrub!

I’m only disappointed at the birthday freebie because I have a million mascaras waiting to be opened.. If I didn’t have so many I think I’d be more excited for it.

Colourpop Cosmetics

I finally got to make another CP purchase but instead of purchasing a full palette, I decided to get singles because that way I could chose the ones I don’t have in my stash yet.

Last time I made a purchase I didn’t realize that I could buy an empty palette so I bought 12 shades and got their large pink palette, which holds 24 shades. Mine is almost full! šŸ™‚

Anyway, here are the shades I bought:

  • Wake Up Call
  • I Owe You
  • Facet
  • Sea Stars
  • Backstage
  • Koi
  • Two Birds
  • Sideline
  • Paper Tiger
  • Teamp Captain
  • Tea Garden
  • Bratty

I also bought one of their Ultra Matte Lip in What’s the Stitch. I’ve been looking for a nice orange shade so I’m hoping it suits my skin tone.

Ulta (Online)

A mix of skincare and makeup!

Skincare: I got a bunch of face washes because I’m stock-piling for later lol.

  • Pacifica Coconut Milk Cream to Foam Face Wash
  • Pacifica Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face  Wash
  • e.l.f. Daily Face Cleanser
  • e.l.f. Exfoliating Scrub
  • Skin & Co Roma Boosting Anti-Aging Serum (freebie)

Makeup: Mostly products I’ve been wanting lol..

  • NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Sand Beige
  • NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee
  • e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Orange Dream
  • Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette in Division
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (free with any palette purchase)
  • Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin

Yes I got a few more orange lipsticks because I’m currently obsessed with those tones and I’m hoping they all suit me.

And the very last product, I saved the best for last!!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

I was so excited to get my hands on this!!

This palette is actually a gift from my husband, I literally was so thankful that he even thought to buy me this. And I’m even more excited because this is my very first JSC product so you better believe I’ll be making sure to do a review as soon as I get the chance!

That’s it you guys! I’m so excited to try all of these products. Considering the fact that it’s a massive haul, I’ll be on a No-Buy until probably my next birthday hahaha. On all seriousness, I will be set for the next few months so I will definitely have lots of content coming out LOL.

Also, I’m so excited to finally be back on the blog! I’ve been trying my best to read your posts but I will get there! Since I’ve been gone for a while, a lot of my posts will be delayed until I get my priority ones out.

Are there any products in this haul that you’ve tried yourself and love?
If not, are there any products that you have been considering purchasing?

  1. Happy belated birthday!!!
Iā€™m so jealous of that massive haul. So many great products. You will like like the Coty Airspun. Iā€™m trying to find a dupe that is cruelty free. But I still use it if Iā€™m in a bind and need powder. Cannot wait for the Jeffree Star palette review!!!

    1. Thanks so much doll!!
I think next year I will wait until black Friday or cyber monday to buy loads of stuff like this because there were so many good deals that I passed up. Hopefully I won’t buy this much stuff again but at least I’m set for a while, especially with skincare lmao
And omg I didn’t know coty wasn’t CF until you mentioned it just now awh šŸ˜£ that’s what impulse buying gets me lol. I’m pretty sure the rest is CF. If you ever find a good powder like coty let me know! Idk that I can buy the high end ones yet lol.
I’m so so excited to play with that palette but I gotta get some first impressions and reviews of other palettes that have been sitting on my vanity. It’s gonna be a fun couple weeks lol.

      1. Yeah you definitely look set!! Haha. I was disappointed when I found out coty is not CF. I have been using the Nyx mineral setting power but itā€™s not as good. I know the laura mercier translucent setting powder is a dupe for this but Iā€™m not ready to buy high end yet either lol. Haha good luck cannot wait to see all your first impressions.

        1. Awh well, I’ll definitely keep a lookout for another one. I know some people say the elf one is good too but I haven’t gotten the chance to try it. Also the RCMA loose powder, I can’t believe I forgot about that one! I just looked it up and it’s CF šŸ˜€

  2. Wow, what a haul! Everything looks great! I haven’t tried anything from Jeffree Star Cosmetics yet, I hope you get to review the eyeshadow palette. It looks epic šŸ™‚

  3. That Thayer’s toner is my absolute fav! I’ve been wanting to try press-on nails again because I feel too uncomfortable going to nail salons, and they’re too expensive. I’m just always worried the nails will fall off at work though since nail glue wasn’t always the greatest back when I used it before. Is it any better now?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Really? That makes me happy to hear because besides Ingrid, NOBODY has ever talked about this toner. I’m so excited to try it!
I tried press-on nails around the same time last year and they actually stayed. I guess it depends on how much you use your hands? Since I washed my hands too often the water would get in between and they would eventually fall off. It was also error from my part. When I try these I will let you know! I’m hoping to be more careful this time around but we’ll see how they hold up LOL

        1. It could also be that you’re not used to having long nails? idk. Like the sense of space is kind of non-existent LOL. I’ve broken even my real nails because I’m not paying attention but that’s just me being clumsy LOL

  4. Give me a shoutout lol my names Cassie btw! Oooo I see you bought some elf products! I highly recommend the elf hydrating moisturizer it’s like $8 online or at the Ulta store! And OMG! It’s good and smells refreshing! It’s a product that isn’t drying or oily and doesn’t break you out! Try it out one dayšŸ™‚

    1. I’ll be sure to do so when I film my next video ;D
I’ve been eyeing that moisturizer, no lie! I believe it could replace the derma-e hydrating moisturizer, I use it to have it and it was so good but I was definitely looking for a cheaper alternative. However, I have so many samples I need to finish up so that’s the only reason I didn’t grab it. But thank you for letting me know! Now I’m more intrigued šŸ˜€

  5. Yay you’re back!!! SO many amazing products in this post- and soo many I need to try. I love Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo- and I have got to try the Botanics from Target- looks luxurious! Oh, and I am a BIG fan of Impress nails. They always make me feel so fancy haha

    1. Ah yeah it’s way too many šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ
Oh yay!! You use the dry shampoo too? So far it’s the only one that’s affordable that truly works for my hair, it’s amazing lol.
Lol the nails are so nice! I can’t wait to wear them!

  6. ā™„ļø Happy belated birthday! šŸŽ‚ I am so happy you purchased the Thayerā€™s Rose Water. Have you tried it yet? Also, thank you for the shout out. I like Bite Beauty Lippie, especially their daily wear lip masks. xx

    1. Thanks Ingrid! šŸ’œ and I haven’t tried it yet, I’m waiting to finish up my current toner, almost there. I’m honestly so excited to try it though lol.
      And no problem! šŸ™‚
Oooh they have lip masks too?! I need to try one!

  7. I love those press on nails!! Now I want to get a festive set, haha. They kind of make it hard to type, though, which can be a struggle with working from home. šŸ˜‰ But they are so pretty, they would be worth it!!
That witch hazel from Target looks awesome! I’ve heard witch hazel is really good for breakouts. I hope it works well for you and I’m curious to know what you think of it. šŸ™‚
What do you think of that dry shampoo? I’ve used Batiste and hated it, so now I’m using Dove but I’m not sold. Like, it’s okay but nothing fantastic.
I LOVE that your husband got you that palette!! He knows you so well. That’s such a fantastic present!!
What a fun haul, Rossy! Sometimes it’s totally worth it to just splurge and build your money back up later. šŸ˜‰ That’s kind of what we just did on Black Friday for things we’ve been waiting for months to buy.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Ahh ! You’ve tried them too!! Yass! I wanted to get a few more so I could have the liberty to change them or whatever, I think just one color will get boring quick or they’ll come off lol. By the way, how they wear on you? Do they last or do they fall off?
I’ve tried like two other witch hazel toners from like regular drugstores, they were the Dickinson’s ones, but one contained alcohol, and the other that didn’t was supposedly hydrating but I felt like it made my face feel dry, so i’m hoping this one is a whole lot better than those.
I LOVE this dry shampoo, it works so well for me, but of course, it may not work for you. People always talk about Batiste but I’ve just never given it a shot because this one is working so well for me.
Well, I actually asked him if he would let me since it’s a pretty big purchase you know? And he actually offered to buy it as a gift instead so I was like šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ ā¤ lol
I honestly think that buying lots of things at once is a lot better than buying little by little throughout the months because then you'd be spending a whole lot more than necessary? You know what I mean? When it's all around the same time or at once you know exactly how much you're spending and you're often forced to cut back and "put things back" persay LOL. It at least makes ME more conscious about what I'm buying, idk about everyone else, but that's just cause I'm so cheap LOL

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I love them for sure!! I used them for our anniversary staycation to feel a little more pretty and cute. šŸ˜‰ They are so fun and easy! Mine stay on for forever actually. I need to find a good way to take them off because I cringe at the feeling of peeling them off. Mackenzie mentioned something about a great polish remover for them but I couldn’t find it at our CVS. I’ve only ever done the classic French nails but I want to try different colors too!
Hopefully this witch hazel isn’t too drying for you! I know my skin takes about a month to adjust to any new skincare product I try. My skin usually either breaks out or starts drying and peeling regardless of what the product is, but after a month, it balances out.
Yeah Batiste just smelled absolutely horrid. Like, just strong chemicals and almost a burned kind of smell. It was terrible! I’m glad this one works so well for you. No need to try something else when you don’t have any complaints!! šŸ™‚
Aww well that was very sweet of him. Joshua & I have a shared checking account so any “gifts” are really just money that we’ve budgeted to spend haha but it’s still sweet as a gesture.
I agree! I am far more aware of what I’m spending when I buy a lot at once because I want to stretch my money to get all the things I’m looking for. Considering that, I’m far less likely to pick up random things. When I just buy things here or there, I think they add up more just like you said because it’s “only $10” so it doesn’t seem like as much. šŸ˜‰

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Omg yeah taking them off is definitely so cringey, i didnā€™t know they could be removed with nail polish, Iā€™ll have to try that when I want to take these off. And you should definitely try different colors, try subtle ones first so youā€™re not stepping out of your comfort zone too quickly. Last year I picked out some cute pale pink matte ones with a silver glittery accent nail. They were cute I couldnā€™t find them this year. šŸ˜šŸ˜
Oh my! You must have sensitive skin then, idk my skin tends to adjust to products quickly and if my skin doesnā€™t like them I usually know almost immediately by how the product feels or sits on my skin you know. ? But the more I try a product, the more I see the changes it causes on my skin. Unfortunately the dryness never went away when I used that toner and when I made the switch immediately noticed and realized it was the toner. Oh well..
Lol technically Alex and I have a joint bank account so if I was to buy him anything or take money out heā€™d know and since weā€™re usually so on top of our spending he would most likely ask. Iā€™ll have to save up in advance if I ever wanna get him anything lol.
Yes! Exactly! Glad you do that too, I feel like Iā€™m the only one who tries to get things all at once. Maybe it seems Impractical to some lol.

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Oh actually not nail polish, but a type of nail polish remover. Like the dip acetone or something. Mackenzie said it’s at CVS, so it might be worth browsing their selection. šŸ˜‰ Taking them off is the worst part lol. Ooh those pale pink ones sound gorgeous!! I love pink and glitter so those sound right up my alley haha.
Oh yes…I just have like a sensitive body overall. Like, everything about me from my teeth, my skin, my hair/scalp…everything is sensitive lol. I actually have a skin condition called dermographism which makes it super sensitive to any stimuli, whether physical or just hot/cold temps. It’s crazy! That sounds really nice to know how your skin accepts a product fairly quickly and that some things are okay right away.
That’s how it is for us too! If I’m buying Joshua a gift something, I just tell him not to look at the account because there’s nothing else I can do. So he’ll always know there’s something coming but he won’t know what lol. XD

          2. Awesome, we donā€™t have cvs here, we got Walgreens, but they should have the same stuff.
Yeah they were, I can find the post where I was wearing them if youā€™d like to see, I think it was my new year update last (this?) year lol.
Ah I see. That makes sense. Iā€™m sorry šŸ˜ is the sensitivity a hard thing to deal with? Like,… Do certain things affect you more, like ingredients in products, or is it just in general? And I canā€™t believe Iā€™ve never heard of dermographism.
Lol Alex doesnā€™t have self control to not look.

          3. I actually think I remember those nails! I think that was one of the first times I’d heard about them so I was very interested haha. And then between both you and Mackenzie, I just had to try them! šŸ˜‰
My sensitivity is pretty general, but there are some triggers, like hot or cold temps. I will often have to take an allergy pill if I’ve been out in the cold because when I try to warm up, I’ll get itchy and have even developed hives lol. Or after exercising, but that probably is part of the overheating trigger. I have a weird body haha.

  8. I’m so excited you’re back & so happy to hear you enjoyed your time off! šŸ™‚

I love the olive colored sweater & the scarf!! I still have those Impress Nails from my VoxBox, I never tried ’em & I think my nails are longer than them now lol. I’ve heard great things though. šŸ™‚ The orange lippy is such a nice color, I’d love to see how it looks on you!

I’ve never heard of the brand Coty but I’m always looking for a cheaper face powder. Let us know how you like it when you try it out!!

Yay!!! I hope you love that face cleanser as much as I do!!! I can’t wait for you to try it. šŸ˜„ & I got the Bite Beauty lippies for my bday gift too! I thought they were hydrating but hard to apply without making a mess. But I’m also an amateur so don’t listen to me. šŸ˜› I never got my Ulta birthday gift though! It should be a little more than a mini mascara though… or was it full-sized??

I tried that NYX concealer for about a week & it severly dried out my skin!! I was so sad because it works pretty nicely & is so cheap.

I still need to try some Colourpop products ASAP. All of the colors you chose look super pretty!!

I’ve been seeing the Makeup Revolution palettes everywhere. They are so big & affordable. So curious to hear your thoughts on the formula & shades! I’ve also been wanting to try Lime Crime! I think all the oranges are going to look amazing on you!! & eeekk!!! SO HAPPY THAT YOU GOT THAT JEFFREE STAR PALETTE. ā™” You so deserved all of this, Rossy!!!

    1. Awwwh thanks doll! šŸ˜€ Feels good to be missed LMAO
Honestly, the olive sweater and the scarf are my current obsessions now that it’s ridiculously cold LOL
I’m thinking about doing a post or maybe a video with the orange shades, I actually haven’t gotten the chance to play with my makeup since thanksgiving so I’m in serious need for a makeup session lol.
I cannot wait to try the Bite beauty lippie set because everyone says their formula is insanely good, and I mean, for the price they go for they better be lol
and about the mascara…I’m not sure? I don’t think I’ve see how big the full size is but I’m willing to bet this one was the mini sample.
That’s too bad it didn’t work out for you! I hope you find a concealer that works, then again, it seems their formula has changed because I felt like it was a bit different so I’ll have to see about that, unless it was the batch.
I’m slowly but surely gonna get through all of this, I’m planning on filming some video tomorrow trying a bunch of stuff that I’ve been leaving for a few months from my Boxycharm, cause I haven’t even reviewed anything since like July, ahh, I suck lol

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Ooh, I would LOVE to see a post on all of the orange shades in comparison. šŸ˜€ I hope you can get in some makeup time soon!! I’m curious what you think about the Bite Beauty lippies, too!

Ah yeah the only concealer that seems to work for me is the Tarte one but, I would love to find something cheaper! I’d be sad if I just got a bad batch or something?? I didn’t even know that happens. šŸ˜¦

You don’t suck!! Lol we understand you are busy busy!! ā¤ ā¤

        1. I quickly swatches them today and one wasnā€™t really orange toned, the photos I saw on google definitely had an orange tone but the swatch didnā€™t so Iā€™ll have to see if it looks different on the lips.
I actually got to do my makeup today and I loved the look I came up with, itā€™s actually for a palette review for tomorrow, I just wanted to try one last look to confirm my thoughts on it lol
Try doing a quick search on google for dupes, a lot of people have found a few, I believe the Makeup Revolution concealers are dupe of the tarte one? Itā€™s a bit more than the NYX one, at $7 I believe, they also sell it at ulta so whenever you go in there, swatch the testers and see if they have your shade, they tend to have more shades online too.

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Aw yeah, hopefully it comes up differently on the lips!! I wish swatch photos were more reliable but, everyone has different lighting and stuff. šŸ˜›

Ooh, yay!! I’m like a week behind on reading blogs right now but, I can’t wait til I get to your makeup look/palette review!! ā¤

Good idea! When I run out of concealer again, I'll look up a dupe. šŸ™‚

          2. And Iā€™ve noticed some shades look different across skin tones. I like that. I think itā€™s neat.
Iā€™m so behind too! This week has been kind of crazy, Cielā€™s birthday is this Saturday (today is Wednesday night) and Iā€™ve been scrambling all week getting things done and moving the house around to make space. Now whatā€™s left is to clean it all up lol
