Blogger Fitness Collab — Final Update

Yes, you’ve read that right.

FINAL update from this collab.

I’m really sad it’s over because I’ve enjoyed this journey with the girls and I’ve also gotten to know them better in the process. They’re all such fantastic women and they each brought something to the table and I find them all equally inspiring when it comes to fitness. Thank you all for doing this collab with me! ❤

Let’s get into the details of last month, shall we?

November Goals

  • At-home workout for 45 mins per day, minimum of 3 workouts a week
  • 84oz water intake everyday
  • Healthy dietcontinue to fast and make smoothies, fruits and/or veggies in at least 2 meals each day, little to no sugar and no junk food

Summary for November

I did pretty good overall.

I didn’t meet my fitness goal of 3x/week, but I did exercise 2x/week. I was only able to workout in the weekends so my time was very limited but I still tried to get a workout whenever I could. In all honesty, when it starts getting colder here, I go into hibernation mode and lose motivation to work out.

  • Week 1: 1 hour total
  • Week 2: 1 hour 40 mins total
  • Week 3: 40 mins
  • Week 4: 1 hour and 25 mins total

Despite the lack of exercise, I’ve been doing yoga and I’ve been loving it so much because it’s such a full body workout. I also have noticed that I’ve managed to maintain my weight as well as my clothing size. So that can only mean I’m getting nearer towards my goal, so long as I remain consistent with my fitness plan.

A few minor things I’ve noticed is that yoga has helped me with my breathing and overall endurance. My lung capacity has increased and I’ve been able to get through even some rough sessions that I couldn’t fathom doing earlier this year.

In my diet, I’ve been doing pretty well at staying hydrated throughout the day and eating veggies has become a pretty normal thing now. I’m still eating some* junk food here and there like baked goods, the occasional coffee, chips, etc., but Mackenzie inspired me to snack healthily. I’ve bought hummus, wheat thins, and will be buying some more fruit and veggies to snack on during the day if needed.

What I’ve Learned

I’ve learned that I can leave my routine just as easily as I pick it up lol. However, I’ve also learned that as many times as I have failed in the past year with my fitness, I haven’t given up, and I don’t plan to.

Even with my inconsistency, by staying minimally active I’ve been able to shed off some weight and some fat around my waist. That in itself is such a tremendous accomplishment for me because it has always been hard for me to maintain a healthy weight.

Where can I improve?

A routine would help, however, there are other circumstances I often have to work around (insomnia, stress, regular busy mom life, etc.) and I find myself needing to work around everything else in order to make time for myself.

I do plan to keep exercising for the rest of the year and then kick it up a notch when the new year comes around. I actually have a plan on how to keep up with exercise daily even if it’s squats or sit-ups.

Speaking of squats and sit-ups, I actually used to do 100 a day a few months back. I have no idea when or why I stopped, life just gets in the way I guess, but Sarah has been doing sit-ups for a while and she reached 500 a day which I thought was crazy amazing, so I plan on picking up where I left off and start doing that daily as well 🙂

Goals for December

My goals will remain the same for the rest of the year to prepare for the new year.

  • At-home workout for 45 mins per day, minimum of 3 workouts a week
  • 84oz water intake everyday
  • Healthy dietcontinue to fast and make smoothies, fruits and/or veggies in at least 2 meals each day, little to no sugar and no junk food

I want to give Sarah, Courtney, Natalie and Emily a huge shout-out for keeping us motivated by sharing your wins throughout the past few months. You are all so incredibly hard-working despite the fact that we’re in totally different levels of fitness, but you’ve all inspired me to keep going regardless of how many times I’ve fallen off the wagon.

Who else has fitness goals?
And how are you keeping up with them through the holidays?

You did really well this month! Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint so as long as you keep trying to keep your lifestyle healthy it’s not the end of the world if you eat something not healthy sometimes.
I’m also trying to get my routine back to normal now that my work schedule has slowed down. Fingers crossed!

Thanks so much for doing this collab with me Rossy!! I love how you have reflected on it and summarized your month week by week. I also love that you still outlined your goals for December! I didn’t do that but I think it still would have been motivating to do that. It sounds like yoga has been so awesome for you! I need to incorporate more of it. Joshua & I been doing a lot of Pilates for the last month or so and it works really well for us so I want to keep it up. I love how it’s full-body and works on both strengthening & flexibility while also being a great option for weight loss. So I guess we will see how it goes if we manage to keep it up.
Oh and I totally got a kick out of it when you said you’ve learned you can drop your routine just as easily as you can pick it up, lol! Oh my gosh isn’t that the truth?! Same, girl! Good luck on the future months, I hope that you can maintain the motivation and reach your goals! I do think I would have quit by now without the collab, so I’m so thankful for it! ❤

Omg I need to link your posts! I don’t know if I have done that yet! I’m so sorry! What a crazy week it has been! 😩
And thank YOU for joining Sarah and I! It has been so much fun and I love that this collab has brought us closer together! ❤️
Omg I just finished reading another comment about Pilates. She said the same thing about strengthening and core I must try it! She told me if I liked yoga I would like Pilates as well! Well, since I know you guys are doing Pilates, what channel are you following or what video would you recommend?
Hahaha yeah I dropped the exercise this week because I’ve been busy prepping for the party we had yesterday, and I feel like I’ve told you that already in another comment, I’m sorry I’m so redundant but yeah, I hope to get back on it now that things have finally calmed down this week lol. It should be smooth sailing from here on until the end of the year lol

Haha I’m pretty sure you did link to my post! I saw a notification for it back when we posted them. So no worries! I’d been forgetting too. 😉
Absolutely! I do feel like we are closer friends now and we have related a lot more with each other on our personal struggles lol.
Pilates has been great so far! So Blogilates is Pilates with the exception of a few cardio or HIIT workouts. 😉 We’ve been doing the beginner workout calendar and it’s been a good challenge for us. She does Pop Pilates, which makes it really fun.
Joshua & I got out of the habit of exercising as well because of being down in Phoenix for a week, but we are trying to get back into it. I know how that is haha.

I think you did really great in this collab, I think you were maybe the most consistent. That’s great that you are going to start the sit up again 😉 And doing that yoga regularly, even if you not doing cardio workouts is brilliant. Thank you so much for everything during this collab. I’ve really enjoyed it and appreciated all of you! 💜

Thank you Sarah! You motivated me to keep going when you started doing your sit ups. 😊 sometimes I feel like the motivations escapes me and I can’t get it back lol.
Yes, the yoga has helped with my breathing and lung capacity overall. I’m still very out of shape so any running won’t do well for me lol.
And thanks so much for joining me I’m so glad we did this!

It was nice to have people to ground you and sort of push you and support you. I don’t think we’d be doing this again but I bet everyone’s still trying to keep up with their own goals.😊
