Heyy dolls!
I’ve been delaying this post for quite some time now. Possibly because it’s the most expensive subscription box I’ve ever had AND I’ve already been subbed for a year! But since I’ve already done similar posts for Ipsy and for Sephora, I just felt like this post NEEDED to happen too lol.
This post will have the same layout as my Ipsy and Sephora posts, just without the bag ratings because this one will have a box value instead.
Let’s get started shall we, because this will certainly be interesting.
December 2017 / / Glitz & Glam
This was my first box EVER and I was nervous because I wasn’t too sure about what kind of products to expect. The only thing I knew was that I’d be getting FULL SIZE products and that was something I was definitely willing to spend money on lol.
It wasn’t a bad box, but a year later, I still don’t seem to reach for the bronzer and cheek palette as much. The mascara is still put away because I have a ton, but the brush I do reach for OFTEN. Crown Brushes make some of the best brushes!

January 2018 / / Rock 2018
My second box was far more exciting than the first because I saw a good variety of products: eyes, face and lips. I did like that the main product, the Glam Metals palette matched the box’s theme quite well. Of course that was it, lol.
Again, the palettes I don’t reach for as often. The IT Cosmetics Brow Power pencil was my favorite for MONTHS until I found something better. It also seems to get dry fairly quickly so that’s a bummer. I did really like the primer and use it every once in a while, while the lipstick is one I reach for A LOT! One of my favorite shades and formulas so far.

February 2018 / / Galaxy Glow
In terms of box theme, of course this one was my favorite! Galaxy anything? Sign me up! I also felt like this was one of those few boxes where at least an item or two matched the box theme perfectly.
I am getting good use out of the empty palette for my singles, the lip scrub is amaze-balls, and the brushes are the softest! I’m not even mad that I keep getting Crown Brushes because they’re so well made! Keep them coming! This was also my first time trying something from CoverFX and I was blown away!

March 2018 / / Baecation
For some reason this box screamed “SPRING” to me, or maybe I was just so into spring and all the spring colors at the time, so getting this box was definitely exciting.
I felt like this box was thoughtfully put together. We were heading into the new season, and the eye gels were definitely something to have to refresh the skin. I also used the blush often and it still stands as one of my favorite ones this year.
Mascara is put away of course, and the brushes I use every so often. I try not to use them as much only because I don’t want to ruin the white bristles LOL. As for the palette, that’s another story… Read my review of it if you’re interested lol.

April 2018 / / Eye Candy
I remember being super excited for this box, mostly because of the Colourpop palette that we were getting. I do wish I would have gotten a different one, just because there was one I had my eye on, lol. Oh well.. The palette was pretty decent.
I really did like the palette itself. I know a few bloggers weren’t as impressed with it, I do however don’t have much experience with CP’s formulas so to me it was good. I do reach for the MAC lipstick often, just because it’s such a nice everyday shade when I want something subtle. The brow gel was also nice to have to sort of cancel out the orange tones in my eyebrow pencils.

May 2018 / / Boxy Bash
It was Boxycharm’s birthday in May! I forgot which one specifically, but yay for them!
I liked almost everything. The brushes were amazing and soft and I do use them often. The CoverFX primer wow’ed me and the gel liner was quite nice too, but that I don’t use as much. Probably should..
The products I wasn’t too fond of were the sculpting palette, only because the formula was inconsistent. I think the shades were supposed to be universally flattering, but only one seemed to look good on me.. And the lipstick.. Don’t even get me started! It was the worst! I ended up throwing it away in my declutter post lol.
That aside, this box had the HIGHEST VALUE!

June 2018 / / Caribbean Queen
This box was possibly one of my favorites, even though I haven’t used all the products. The eyeliner pencil I ended up putting it in a giveaway pile, and the lashes are put away until I can figure out how to apply them properly. Still learning here!
Out of the three products I DID try, I liked them all! The bum bum cream has a strong scent but it does make my skin super smooth, I love it! The brushes from Luxie I could never turn away because they’re some of the best! And the Alamar Cosmetics palette was possibly one of my favorites this year!
From here on out I don’t have the full box reviews because I’ve been slacking. Just haven’t had the time but I’ve been slowly making my way through the palettes.

July 2018 / / Roadtrippin
This box’s theme was…plain? It didn’t wow me. None of the products JUMPED out at me when I opened my box. I passed on the Chella eyebrow product, and the mascara was put away.
I think I only swatched the blush, never actually worn it. But again, I’m trying to turn that around. I’ve just been trying to use up my products for my project pan first. The Crown Brush palette was pretty good. I think it had some nice shades for the fall, and it’s a perfect palette for those who love warm tones, though there are a LOT of warm toned palettes, so the market may be over-saturated with them.
One product I do use often is the Dr. Brandt Needles No More eye de-puffing gel. It’s a part of my morning skincare routine. I should have a YT video of that routine pretty soon!

August 2018 / / Life of the Party
This box had the LEAST VALUE out of them all, and it’s also my LEAST FAVORITE box out of them all. And no, it’s not because of Laura Lee’s involvement with it, I promise..
The chocolate gel liner and the Smashbox lipstick I put in a giveaway pile because I know I’ll never use a brown/chocolate eyeliner and I will never reach for that shade of lipstick, ever. The lashes are put away until I’m better at applying them, so they technically don’t count as a disliked/liked product.
I did decide to give the palette a chance despite the fact that the creator isn’t one of my favorite people. But it let me down. I recently posted the full in-depth review for it, for whoever is interested in reading it.
I still am trying to make up my mind about the cuticle oil, I’m not sure I love it as much as I thought I would, though it’s easy to apply. And the eye masks.. I tried them once and they felt odd so I’ve been putting them off to try them again another time. I will sometime this month. If I like them, I’ll keep the last pack, if not, in the giveaway pile it goes.

September 2018 / / Wild Flower
The theme was quite pretty and the packaging of the products goes with it too. I did like that I received a cool-toned palette for the first time ever lol.
I still need to try a bunch of these products so I don’t have any first impressions/reviews for these yet, but they all seem like great products.
The only product I did try was the Pretty Vulgar Nightingale palette and just posted my first impressions on it yesterday.Ā I cannot wait to play with it a bit more.

October 2018 / / Alter Ego
The theme for this box was oddly reminiscent of a bag from Ipsy a few years back. Same title lol. Nothing serious, just making an observation. š
Again, haven’t tried anything from this box either because I’ve been trying to catch up on products I’ve been getting before this box. I got a lot of makeup to go through after my birthday haul lol.
I did try the PĆR Midnight Masquerade palette yesterday for the first time and I even created a look that I will hopefully be posting sometime tomorrow, video included. The first impressions post/video for the palette should be coming sometime before the month ends.

November 2018 / / Goal Digger
One of my favorite, aesthetically pleasing boxes of the entire year!
Literally everything is gold!! It’s a beautiful box! Since I just got this box recently, I still haven’t tried anything, but I will be filming a “Trying On New Makeup” video for my channel possibly today, and will be sure to include a few items from this box!
Box Value: $109.98
Grand Total(s):
Ok so this is going to hurt seeing this lol..
Box Cost: $21/month = $252 (for 12 moths)
The total spent on this sub box for a year was an insane amount that I probably didn’t even spend on my October haul alone lol. I think that by paying it three months in advance or more, it’d be far cheaper. I however, don’t want to make that kind of commitment in case I need to cancel it right away for whatever reason. Not that I want to, we’ll see. š
Despite the great amount I’ve spent on this sub box this year, the grand value for all the boxes for an entire year was quite impressive!!
12 Boxes, Total Value = $1,655.35!!
Holy crap!! That’s more than a full month’s worth of rent and bills put TOGETHER! WOWW!! I’m so blown away by how much it actually was for everything. I literally payed maybe like 15% of that for EVERYTHING! However, since I did get rid of a few things, that number probably decreased, but not by a lot.
For the sake of not making this post longer than it already is, I’m just going to say that I’ve been pleased with the boxes each and every month. The fact that some products are disappointing has nothing to do with the sub box itself, so if you’re looking to grow your makeup collection a bit, I’d definitely recommend getting it. I for one am sure glad I cancelled my Ipsy and Sephora to keep this one! š
Are you subbed to Boxycharm? How long have you been subscribed?
How do you like it so far? Do you think it’s worth it or nah?

$21 isn’t too bad considering you get full sized makeup and the value greatly exceeds the cost. However, I understand if some people would rather spend those $20 on other stuff lol.

Full size! Well heck yes then, thatās a great deal!

That November box looks fabulous! I am not a subscriber. I only subscribe to FabFitFun, which offers TV videos, yoga, pilates, aerobics, meditation. The box is quarterly, but well worth the expense. xx

I have actually been thinking about subbing to that one but I’d have to cancel this one lol. I’m not ready to do that yet š

This is such a fun round up! over $200 for the course of a year sounds like a lot, but when you put the total value of everything you received all year and it’s over $1600!? That’s so amazing!
Boxycharm is one of my favourite makeup subscriptions even though I haven’t been subbed for a while. I will probably go back soon!

I know! I was so blown away by the amount. I don’t think I could ever buy that much makeup in one whole year, alone. Then again, there were some products I didn’t care much for, some I also put in a giveaway pile, so the amount might be a bit less, but even so, the value exceeded my expectations.
It’s my fave so far too! Though I’d like to try a few more to see what other boxes offer.

I love that most items are worth the cost of the entire box anyways, so even if you don’t like a couple products the value is still there.
There are so many boxes to chose from!

Awh man! Boxycharm is such a great box because of the full sized products. I’m sure there are other boxes that do ship over there, I know Glossybox ships to the UK, maybe that one will ship to India too?
Same to you! Have an amazing rest of 2018!

This is a great box indeed! No one can love everything, but I would agree that this box (literally!) delivers every single month. Yes, that Alamar eye palette is truly stunning. I loved all the beautiful looks you did with this palette. The total value of everything is… crazy!

Yes, I was just telling another friend that even if I removed the prices of things I didn’t like or put in a giveaway pile for later, the amount would still be pretty insane. I hope to play with the Alamar palette again soon, but I have a bunch of other palettes that I need to try lol.

I love when you do these year reviews on the subs, Rossy! I am so excited to keep receiving Boxycharm. You get so much stuff for such a nice price. I am really thinking about just getting the year long sub!! I wish I had started receiving these the month of that Pretty Vulgar palette. š Such a pretty theme with gorgeous products included!

Aw thanks!! š I love doing these, too bad I’m not subscribed to other subs or I’d do it for those too. Maybe when in the future when I can afford it haha.
Yes! Boxycharm has been amazing these last few months! It can only get better from here! I don’t think you’ve completely missed out or anything š

Yes, for makeup, Boxycharm is.where it’s at lmao. I haven’t looked through any lifestyle boxes yet but would like to. I’ve heard of one called pop sugar must haves, its kind of like fab fit fun, but I’m not sure if its still available

oooh cool, who is she if you don’t mind me asking? i’d love to see what she got š
and i have lots of makeup and have been really into decorating the house and making it homier and more organized, so that’s the only reason i’d want to try a lifestyle box for a while š
in that case, boxycharm is perffect!!! you’re gonna get so much makeup and skincare!! š next year is supposed to be full of surprises so i hope they send us some dope ass products lol

Of course I don’t mind you asking!! Emma at emmakernstein.wordpress.com posted her Winter box. I think she will be getting it again, too!!
Lol I am so bad at decorating the house. Both my boyfriend and cats accidentally break every cute little knick knack I buy anyways… & yeah, I heard Boxy is going to make their boxes more personalized starting next year. Interesting!!

I might have heard of her, but I’ll be sure to check her out thanks!
Oh that sounds nice. Do you know if it’ll be personalized each month? Like do we get to choose one item each month? I’m really curious.

I heard rumors that they may do a choice product every month like how they had you choose between the palette or straightener and that there will be more variations each month based on our Beauty Quizzes.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I like that sound of THAT š I hope they do! I will have to re-do my beauty quiz just in case some of my preferences have changed š thanks for letting me know lol. I try to avoid their spoilers so I know if I try to keep up with their stuff, I may end up seeing the stuff for the month, or maybe I shouldn’t avoid the monthly ones but definitely avoid the BoxyLuxe in March? Idk.. what do you think? LOL I just feel like if I see all the products and don’t get the ones I’m hoping to get, I’ll be disappointed and it might take away my excitement from the products I did get. LOL So far all my unboxings I’m like “yay I’m excited to try this!” LOL

LOL I have re-done my beauty quiz like 18 times now. I went back after watching your video because you said it’s good to get anti-aging things and I had not checked that I liked them on my quiz!
Okay so I know I said I was going to stop looking at the spoilers but I’m addicted to it!! I love how they just show us one item at a time and I keep having to go check if another sneak peek has been leaked. š I know some of the things we’re getting next month already LOL & it’s adding to my excitement x10!! I don’t think it would take away from yours!! I don’t usually like spoilers like I will never look at them for my Ipsy but I don’t know why it’s so fun to see Boxycharm slowly reveal everything throughout the month LOL.

Oh my gosh, considering the $1600+ value of the whole year of products, that’s such a great deal!!! Wow!! I know it still feels pricy overall, I would feel the same way, but when thinking about the value and how you’d never get those products for that price otherwise, that’s amazing! I think Boxycharm is such a fantastic box with their full-size products! Oh and I love that you got multiple brush sets. Those would probably be my favorite lol.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I know right!! I could never afford those products at full price that’s insane and it got me thinking that some people do spend that much on makeup in one year lol. Of course if you put it in terms of “I’m getting what I want instead of getting something chosen for me” then that’s different. Even so I’ve gotten lots of products that quickly became favorites so that’s nice š
