First Impressions — PÜR Midnight Masquerade Face Palette

Heyy dolls!

I’m a little behind with some videos and posts, so I’m currently playing catch up.

Today’s post is about the PÜR Midnight Masquerade Face Palette, which I received in my October Boxycharm. Yes, I’m behind on reviews for products from my boxes as well, mainly because a few I’m not keeping, others I’m still testing out, and some I’m not sure I even want to use, lol.

Anyway, I’m just going to give you guys a quick first impressions of this palette. Some of you might remember that I already did a look featuring this palette over the holidays.

You can check out that post if you’re interest, here. The tutorial video is included in the post.

Onto the palette! You can watch my first impressions too:

Midnight Masquerade — First Impressions

This was a palette I wasn’t excited about when I opened it up to see it. I don’t really care for full palettes with eyeshadows and blushes because I already have my go-to blushes and highlighters. I was also underwhelmed with the eyeshadow color story, and the fact that there were five shimmer shades to one matte shade.

You guys KNOW I love when palettes are balanced out nicely, and I didn’t think they thought it through enough when they only put one shade. It also looks pretty dark in the pan so I was worried I would have to pull out other transition shades.

I didn’t need to use other shades for transition, I feel like this sole one worked out quite well, but I’m not sure I liked using just the one. Obviously I could have pulled out other shades, but I wanted to see if this one was enough… Was it? Short answer is yes, for now. I did have a hard time with it, the shadow sort of stick wherever you apply it first, but I did have dry eyelids so I’m not blaming it on the formula just yet.

The shimmers are all very pigmented and nice, I only got too use 4 out 6 shades so I’m still in the testing phase for the shadows. The blushes are also very pigmented it’s almost scary! I barely dipped my brush in and the brush picked up a lot of product. Again, maybe it was my dry skin, but I had a hard time blending it out. I had to use my beauty sponge to tone it down a bit.

The highlighter was hugely disappointing and was the least pigmented out of everything.

I’m not entirely sure if my opinions will change. I’m hoping that it was just my dry skin giving me a hard time. After using the PÜR x Boxycharm Eyeshadow Palette, I didn’t have high hopes for this one, but it’s definitely much better and easier to work with than the Boxycharm palette.

Does anyone else have this palette? What do you guys think of it?

  1. Even with the palette not being a favorite of yours, I think you still did a beautiful job with your makeup look! I feel like it’s strange that they included so many shimmers to the one matte! Not everyone likes shimmers so that’s not a good choice lol.

  2. I love reading your palette reviews, Rossy! I’ve had some products that just stick right where they apply too, it’s so traumatizing (especially with blush!) lol. & I actually kind of like the idea of having both eyeshadows & face products in one palette!

    1. Aw thanks! Glad someone appreciates them, truly!.😁
And yeah with blush it’s far worse! Lol but that’s good that you like these kinds of palettes, they come in handy if you need to travel or don’t have big makeup collection. For someone like me that has way too much I’m kinda passing on them now but I totally use to love them!
