Hello my dolls!
Happy Friday and I hope today you all have a great start to your weekend. I think tomorrow we’re going to see Rojo the Llama again with my sister in law and her kids. #stalkallama šĀ What are your plans for the weekend?
This is my third look using the Ace Beaute Grandiose palette. I will be putting this photo up for every look so you guys can see the shades I used, if you’ve never seen this palette.
If you missed my first and second looks, you can see those here and here.
Cinnamon Rose
I feel like compared to my very first look, this one isn’t as good. Then again, I did* use different techniques. I also wanted to showcase the difference in pigmentation when setting your primer versus not setting it. I did set my primer for this look, and even though it’s not as good as the first, I still like how subtle the shades can look for those of you who don’t want the pigment to be super intense.
This look could be worn on a daily basis. It has a good wash of color while still looking kind of neutral, I think. You guys will have to let me know.
Shades used: Patchouli (to set), Poppy (on the crease), Cinnamon (to soften harsh edges), and Myrtle (on the lid).
Makeup Details:
Eyes: Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil | Coastal Scents Step 1 Eye Primer | Ace Beaute Grandiose Palette | NYX Matte Liquid Liner in Black | Essence Kajal Eye Liner in Black | Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

What do you think of this look?
What do you guys think of Valentine’s Day? Love it? Hate it?
I personally don’t care for it nor do I celebrate it. My wedding anniversary is around the end of the month anyway, and that is better, LOL.

Lovely post! Those colours really suit you! ā¤ļø

Another beautiful look! SO when you set eyeshadow primer, the pigmentation is less intense? I thought primer helped the colors come through more lol. Learning something new everyday!
Also, I do enjoy Valentine’s Day. It’s not something we go crazy over, but it’s fun to take advantage of anytime to do something special. While I don’t think it should be elevated as one of the only major times you show how much you care for your significant other, I also don’t see an issue with having another day to show your love if that makes sense. š But I totally see how your wedding anniversary at the end of the month would be so much more fun lol.

And yes, see it's a bit complicated.. Yes, primer helps the color intensity a lot if you don't set it, because the shade just "sticks" to the primer. So it appears more vibrant. However, if you're wanting to blend shades, it's a good idea to set the primer so the shades can be diffused much easier, especially for beginners. Lots of beauty gurus on IG are not setting their primer so they create really beautiful pigmented looks, but it can be hard to blend the shades if you happen to misplace them. I hope that makes sense. If you have eye primer at home, try swatching the shades with and without, so you can see if it works with the shades you have. That technique might come in handy for shades that have little to no pigment š
Ah yeah š that's nice! Great point! For us, we basically show our love for each other very often and many times throughout the year when we go for dinner dates, etc. We say I love you to each other every day. You'd know there's something wrong if one of us doesn't say it back haha,
I'm looking forward to it! š we tend to celebrate the 22nd which is the day we started dating as well as the day we got married (the 25th–couldn't get married on the 22nd unfortunately lol), but the 25th also happens to be my brother's birthday LOL

Oh see that makes so much sense about the differences between setting primer or not! I hadn’t heard about using primer but not setting it for a different look, but that’s great to know and it makes sense that it would help the pigmentation show up more (also makes sense that it would be harder to blend because it would stick more!). Thanks for all the info! I’m learning more everyday lol.
I couldn’t imagine not telling Joshua I love you everyday, that’d be weird! haha so I’m definitely with you there. I love that you guys make such an intentional point of taking time for yourselves and showing your love!!
Nice!! Do you have any plans yet for how you’d like to celebrate?

Yeah makeup is literally evolving right before our eyes.. It used to be so easy and now it’s become this HUGE thing.. It’s ART š
No, no plans yet.. I haven’t been on the bestest of moods LOL. Parenting is driving me up the wall right now and it doesn’t feel like Alex is helping me much but I’m sure he’s just stepping back because a storm is brewing on my end LOL.

Too true!! And even though it’s not as easy now, it’s amazing how much better it looks and the feats makeup can accomplish!
Aw girl, that sounds like such a bummer. Hopefully Alex comes around to help before long, I bet you’re right that he’s feeling frustration in his own way about things. I’ve heard that when men get stressed from the same situation as women, they tend to back off to sort things out…which can absolutely feel like they’re not helping lol. You got this ā¤

LOL good to know! I’ll be sure to ask him how he’s feeling though he likes to deny that he’s ever “frustrated” lol

I still like this look even if the shades aren’t as vibrant over a set primer. It’s nice & wearable!
I also don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Mike & I have enough milestones. His birthday is in a few weeks and our anniversary is in April, so adding one more day is just too much! That being said I love seeing Valentine-s Day makeup looks!

Yeah I agree! Very wearable.
And exactly, there’s just so much going on for us too, mainly over December for us but February is still cutting it pretty close to add vday to it. Lol.

Plus Valentine’s day is always so busy at restaurants, I’d rather go out for dinner when it’s not busy!

Ooo! This is the first one that I think I could actually recreate myself lol. It’s definitely more on the casual & neuteal side but still glam. š

Omg be my guest!!! I’d love to see your recreation! š I had thought about creating some pictorials but because I’ve been doing these looks so early in the morning, I wait until after CL is awake to take pics of the complete look.
