Anti-Valentine MOTD ft. Ace Beaute Grandiose Palette

Thought I was going for another Valentine’s Day look? No way! Had to change it up! Today is not that special lol. Let’s face it: Valentine’s Day is a capitalist holiday. It’s meant to commercialize and exploit love in a non-romantic way.

I know there are people out there who really love the holiday, so by all means enjoy if it you like it. I just believe that if you’re willing to go all out on this ONE day out of the entire year, then you should be willing to show your love year-round. Am I right or wrong? Maybe I’m just a bit cynical. Perhaps I know too much about the world to buy into all these “special occasions”. For example, I don’t believe in diamonds, they’re a sparkling piece of carbon. My wedding rings (set) were $100. Just saying..

Don’t let my incredulous ideas stop you from doing anything you like, to each their own. Okay, sorry, rant over. Onto today’s look, lol!

As always, I’m using this palette from Ace Beaute:

Anti-Valentine MOTD

To be honest, I called it Anti-Valentine’s because up to this point I’ve been creating looks surrounding said theme. I hate the idea of it and spending money for a loved one, but my gosh do I love creating looks for it LOL. Last year I even created some outfits too. But anyway, that’s the only reason for naming it so.

This look was meant to be a recreation of Cinnamon Rose because I didn’t think I liked that one. However, when I finished this one and saw how different they looked, I thought I needed to post both of them. This look is more neutral whereas Cinnamon Rose has those burgundy/rosy tones from the shade Poppy.

Shades: Patchouli (to set), Poppy (on the crease), Cinnamon (on the crease, right over Poppy to tone the shade down), Clove (above the crease, to soften Poppy and Cinnamon), Primerose (on the lid, blended onto Cinnamon).

Note: I did use Poppy in this look, but less of it so you can barely tell I used it.

Makeup Details:

Eyes: Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil | Coastal Scents Step 1 Eye Primer | Ace Beaute Grandiose Palette | Essence Kajal Eye Liner in Black | Butter London Glazen Lustrous Liner in Disco | Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
Face: Wet n Wild Photofocus Face Primer | NYX Dark Circle Concealer | NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer | BareMinerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation | NYX Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam | Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finish Powder | NYX Wonder Stick in Universal | Wet n Wild Contour Palette in Dulce de Leche | theBalm INSTAIN Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush in Pinstripe | theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer | Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea | Colourpop Amber Setting Spray
Lips: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi

I’m sorry if this post was a bit ranty, hopefully no one got offended.. But what do you think of this look? LOL I’d say this look is pretty wearable because it looks neutral.

Anyone got plans today? I was gonna get mac and cheese from a place we found that just opened up but then I realized it was only Thursday, so I have to wait until tomorrow. Oh well..

I’ll see you all tomorrow! I’m working on some more content for you guys and more looks using this palette. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! πŸ™‚
And that’s so interesting, I literally thought more people would celebrate Valentine’s Day, but it’s seeming like people are celebrating it less and less lol. I know I have, stopped a few years back haa

    1. I think that’s great! Nothing wrong with celebrating vday, I just take a stance against buying anything LOL.
Thanks so much!! You’re always so super nice to me!! T_T ily!!

  1. Dang Rossy!!! Lol you really are quite the cynic about Valentine’s Day. I personally love the holiday & I don’t think you have to spend money on your loved one(s) to celebrate it at all… but like you said, to each their own!!! πŸ˜› What I actually came here to say though is, WOW, I am so into this look!!! I am such a sucker for gold. It reminds me of a sandy beach as the sun is setting. Beautiful. ❀

    1. Lol. That’s my whole issue, that they make it seem like if you dont buy anything for your loved one, you must not love them enough. lol.
And Alex and I have our monthiversary AND our wedding anniversary this weekend so it doesn’t make sense for us to celebrate vday when we can go all out for our anniversary.
Thanks!! I used to love gold a lot and grew out of it but this shade is BOMB!

      1. I do see your issue with that, it’s like, of course I love my man even if I don’t buy him a Rolex lol & I totally get that it would be hard to celebrate three things in one month!

I can’t seem to get over gold… I think it’s the Asian in me LOL.
