Product Empties — January to March 2019

Hello my dolls!

I feel like I haven’t done an empties post in a long long time. And that is because I had combined my regular empties with my project pan. Thinking back, I thought it would be easier that way but I never realized how confusing it must have been for you all, so for that I apologize!

But here we are, with a new empties post. To be totally honest, it’s not very much. I’m hoping I can finish more products as the year progresses, whether that’s from my project pan or my regular ones. So let’s get started on this post.

I do want to start filming more YouTube videos and take the full plunge, so I will most likely have more videos to go with my posts, that way I have content on both platforms.

Watch my empties video:

Haircare / Bath & Body / Misc

Le’t’s start with these products today, I didn’t think it was necessary to separate it all because I don’t have enough of one category, so this section will be mixed.

First up we have the April Showers Hair Spray which I believe I got from the dollar store. I got it a LONG time ago, so I’m glad to be done with it. I hardly use hair spray, only special occasions when I want my hair to stay intact.  It’s surprisingly good for only being a dollar.

Then I have the Bolero French Lavender & Citrus soap bar, also from the dollar store. I got it because it’s a pure vegetable soap, and it was CF! I loved this one so much because the lavender was so relaxing and soothing. I also like that this bar soap doesn’t leave my skin feeling waxy. I’ll have to pick up some more when I go to the dollar store again.

The Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste I’m including because I had an “incident” (don’t think that’s the right word to use) where my teeth suddenly became very sensitive. It turned out to be “spinach teeth” because I had been having breakfast smoothies with loads of spinach. Who knew you could have too much of a good thing, right? Anyway, apparently spinach has a lot of oxalic acid which caused my teeth to feel very chalky, gritty, and sensitive. This toothpaste worked to get rid of sensitivity. I bought another one like this to have just in case, lol.

Then we have the Hello Kitty Hand & Mouth Wipes. I picked these up from an Asian supermarket, and they came in handy for my son and myself. They’re really good to have on-the-go. I do not recommend using these as makeup removing wipes because they can feel really rough on the skin, as they’re a mesh type.

I only finished one makeup product and that was the Colourpop Amber Crystal Setting Spray. Unfortunately CP no longer sells this on their site, which is a shame because I really liked it. It smelled kind of fruity but the scent was subtle. I wish I could buy it again!!

Lastly, the Select CBD Hemp Disposable Vape Pen. I mentioned this in my birthday haul last year that my husband got it for me and I absolutely love it! CBD has done wonders for my stress, anxiety and insomnia. While I still feel stress and some creeping anxiety, this CBD has lessen most of that. I actually haven’t felt close to having a mental breakdown in a long time, at least not a full-blown panic attack. It’s been good for me, and my hubby so lovingly bought me a replacement. 🙂

Skincare

Most of these you guys might have already seen reviews for.

The Formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser has been a favorite for years and I repurchased several times. Since I do have other cleansers I need to try out, I will not repurchase for a while, but I do love it. It’s so gentle on the skin. On the other hand, it does contain sulfates, so I do want to start moving away from those kinds of skincare products.

The Skin & Co Roma Boosting Anti-aging Serum was a small sample from an Ulta haul. A little goes a long way, it absorbed quickly into my skin. I really liked it even during the winter. It gave back some hydration to my skin. I looked into it but it’s not a CF brand which is a shame because I totally would have bought it! I need a serum right now anyway!

The Biossance Squalane & Probiotic Gel Moisturizer was so so good too! I have a new appreciation for gel moisturizers because they’re so lightweight and absorb into the skin so quickly. They’re also very smooth. This one moisturized my dry winter skin too and I have a feeling it would have been a good one to use all year-round.

The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum was another amazing product! I loved it from the first time I tried it. I love that it contains vitamin C. It was lightweight, absorbed QUICKLY into the skin. After using it for a while, I did notice my skin was brighter and I’m also convinced that this product lessen my breakouts because now that I’m out, I’m breaking out again 😦 I need to look into buying this product if the brand is CF.

The Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask was such a treat in my January Boxycharm. Even though the mask was a bit too big for my face, I appreciated the amount of serum the mask had. It was more than enough to massage into my face and neck. I did wake up with smoother, softer, and dewy-looking skin, just how I like it! 🙂

The Pacifica Coconut Milk Cream to Foam Face Wash was a new product for me. I hadn’t tried their skincare until now. I had switched to a cream cleanser for winter because I read that they were more hydrating and this was exactly what my dry, winter skin needed. I’m bummed that it was a travel size because I used it up quick. But once I’ve gone through the rest of my cleansers, I’ll be sure to repurchase this one for winter.

I’m sorry if I got too chatty for each product. I figured I could do that since it’s not that many products. Maybe it would be a good idea to do monthly empties even if it’s not that many products because it’s so easy for me to get carried away with words. LOL. I just try my best to explain my experience with these products because chances are, I’m not going to write reviews for most of these on the blog.

Anyway, I loved the majority of these products as you have already read. I am excited to keep using up some products because I really want to make a dent in my stash. I was going to wait to buy some things but I couldn’t help myself so I have a few hauls coming up.. LOL. So be on the lookout for those!

How often do you guys do empties posts?
Are you someone who produces plenty of empties or only a few?

    1. Thank you! And I’m glad I’m not the only one, sometimes I feel like I might be too chatty XD
Will do! I’ve emptied a few so we’ll see how many more I can empty when the month is over 🙂

  1. Ooh that Bolero soap sounds so interesting and cool! Love the sound of that. Also spinach teeth?! What haha wow who knew huh!? Bless you hun! So typical! You think you’re being really healthy and then bam… you get punished for it 😂
I think monthly empties would be so much fun! I’ve never done an empties post but you’ve totally inspired me 😉 ❤️

    1. Yes it was very neat, I had never used a pure vegetable soap until this one! I will probably start buying some more like this one.
Omg right?? I was like whatt?! WHyy??!
You’re the second person to tell me to give the montly empties a shot so I just might. 😉
And girl you should, it’s a fun way to wrap up the month and see what you’ve used up. It puts everything into perspective, like how many products you have, how long it takes to use up. At first it is odd saving the trash, literally, but doing empties posts have also inspired me to buy less or only buy what is needed… That’s not to say I don’t get carried away because I do.. I recently bought a whole bunch of stuff LOL.

  2. Never apologize for being chatty about products- I LOVE how thorough you are in your reviews. I basically want to try every single product in this post. That is genius to get hairspray from the dollar store. Whenever I’m in there I am always amazed at how many great products you can get at that price. Also- so crazy about the spinach! I use sensodyne too, and I love it! Such a great toothpaste. Thanks for sharing, girl!

    1. Awh thanks Mackenzie! 😀 Most of these products really were great. And yeah, I go to the dollar store often because I always find a gem or two or decorations that come in handy for future DIYs. I also have gotten a bunch of my acrylic organizers from there too. So affordable LOL.

  3. I literally use that toothpaste all the time, and not just Sensodyne, but Sensodyne ProNamel, lol. I will never switch if I can help it because I have ridiculously sensitive teeth. >.> I’m so glad it helped you!! I’ll have to keep that in mind with the spinach because it always make my teeth feel weird after eating it! Not necessarily extra sensitive, but gritty and chalky for sure.

    1. I might have one of those too lol. I actually bought a generic one, it was a bit cheaper than the name brand and it works just as well.
Oh gosh yeah I had to steer clear of spinach for a couple weeks. Lol.

  4. I wouldn’t expect that fancy bar soap to be at Dollar Tree. What a score! & I had never heard of spinach teeth before, that’s so interesting! I’m glad the toothpaste helped you.

The Hello Kitty wipes are adorable & I love how the CBD has worked for you. ♡ The Biossance gel really does wonders but when I use it too often, my skin becomes super oily & I break out a little. I wonder why. 😭

    1. Me neither! I just went back to the dollar store yesterday and found so many more different soaps from this brand as well as a body wash and some lotion I think? I bought a lot of stuff because I wanted to try the rest. 😀 LOL
Aren’t they? Unfortunately it was just a mesh type of wipe, it didn’t have any cool designs on it the way some of the baby wipes do LOL. Oh well.
And yes, I love CBD. I got another “stress-reliever” over the weekend but I’m gonna wait to talk about that in another post. We’re kind of testing out if its a good fit this week, but I’m thinking so far it is LOL.
Awh man that sucks that it breaks you out. 😦 I hope you’re able to find something that doesn’t

      1. Oh fun! Are you going to do a post on all the stuff you bought? 😀 I’d love to see it! & aww yeah, that’d be cute if there were kitty prints all over the wipes lol.

I am happy to hear the CBD has been a good fit for you!! ❤

        1. I posted a video of a haul from like last month, I’m behind on everything lol. I didn’t get photos for that one for some strange reason I probably just forgot but I did take lots of photos for the last haul. I also filmed a video for it lol.

          1. I’m still working on two new DIY’s that have nothing to do with the stuff I bought LOL. And the reason it’s taking so long is because I hardly have time to edit my videos, especially the last week and a half, and on top of that, I’ve been having technical difficulties with my laptop so I either have to get it fixed, use someone else’s or buy a new one before it craps out for good 😦

          2. I hope it doesnt either. I miss blogging so much my laptop is making it miserable to work on lately lol. But I’m working on those videos at the moment. I think I have one or two more to film and I’m done. Lol. But i also dont wanna make a long video so it it’s too long I might make two separate videos lol

          3. You should check the pawn store for a new one! I know it’s super frowned upon by a lot of people but they really got some nice stuff in there for such low prices!
