KL Polish Haul — My First & Last Order

I bought some nail polish!!

Most of you that know me, know that I don’t bother with my nails often just because it takes so long to dry. In my defense, I do have the cheaper brands that take an eternity to dry, lol. But that’s not what this post is about!

As you all know, Kathleen Lights addressed the rumors about KL Polish, and she confirmed that it was ending. To be honest, I didn’t even know that there were rumors floating around until she mentioned it in her video. I felt really bad for her because I remember watching her video announcing the launch and nobody was more deserving for an opportunity like that than her. So my heart did break a little because her dream is basically coming to an end.

Which brings us to this haul..

First, let me say this: I never thought I would actually be purchasing this many polishes at once!

I always believed her brand would be there for whenever I was finally “ready” to jump into the nail polish bandwagon. While I do like doing my nails every once in a while, I don’t always have the time, but with KL Polish ending, I knew I had to buy some to try and to support her.

I made two separate orders, the first was four polishes and after trying one shade and loving the formula, I knew I needed to buy more before they were gone for good.

So let’s get into this little haul and let me show you which polishes I bought!

As always, I did do a little video for those of you who prefer to watch. I added close-up shots of the products this time so you can see the nail polish shades better. I do go more in-depth with each shade in my video.

P.S. I never want you guys to feel forced to watch my videos, but I do like to include them in here in case you’re curious! ❤ Thanks to those of you who constantly show your support, ily!

So here are the first four I bought.

From left to right:

  • Caramello (Special Edition)
  • Graham
  • Aquarius (KL Polish x ColourPop)
  • Unfortunate Souls

I was lucky to snatch Graham because that one was part of her 2017 Winter Collection, and when I went back for my second order, I couldn’t find it anymore! It such a beautiful shade, even though it literally is just a grey shade. It’s perfect for winter! I also love that I got Aquarius because I can always buy the lip color to match it when I buy more CP stuff. AND…cannot forget about Caramello, a mustard polish that quickly became one of my faves.

And here’s my second order:

From left to right:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Point Zero (KL Polish x ColourPop)
  • Taurus (KL Polish x ColourPop)
  • Miami Fever & Havana Nights (OFRA x KL Polish Bundle—Free liquid lipstick!)
  • Sagittarius

Again, glad to have gotten KLxCP polishes to buy their respective matching lip color in the future. I got Sagittarius because it’s purple AND because it’s my boys’ signs! (Yes, both!)

I’m also glad to have gotten a bundle because I got a free liquid lipstick in the shade Havana Nights to go with its respective polish.

I am also aware that the majority are fall polishes, which I’m not mad about, the time will come to wear them. Then again, I never follow the “rules” so I might just wear a few outside of their so called season.

I waited to post this because she mentioned releasing another video while I was waiting for my second order. AT first I felt bad for giving my money to the shady investors/partners, but in Kathleen’s second video, she said the company was still 50% hers and I just really wanted to support her. I wish her the bestest of luck with Lights Lacquer! Can’t wait till it launches!

Have any of you gotten KL Polishes?
If so, how many do you have and which is your favorite?
If you don’t own any KL Polishes, which brand(s) is/are your favorite?

  1. That Graham shade is cute, grey is a fun nail shade! I had never even heard of these polishes before, I don’t really understand why she’s ending her line but it’s lovely that you showed your support! And I’m glad you stocked up before they become unavailable!

    1. It’s a lovely shade!! I’m glad I was able to buy it. And I think they did international shipping for a little while but it went away. I’m not entirely sure how long this brand lasted or when it launched, but it wasn’t that long ago. And Kathleen is a huge youtuber over here. She’s really nice and so down to earth.
Anyway, her line is ending because she felt like she no longer had control of her OWN company, if that makes sense. From what she briefly shared, she mentioned that she noticed certain decisions being made without her knowledge or consent, so she felt it was best to end it rather than put up with it, which I applaud her for. It was hard for her to call it off since she’s worked so hard on it, it was literally her dream, and they basically were trying to push her out of her own company. .sucks..

  2. I am so sad for her as well, I did love the shades she came out with in general and I love the ones that you got, especially Caramello, such a pretty shade!!

    1. Omg they are! Not only are the shades pretty, the formula of the polish is the best I’ve tried!
I’m sad for her too but we got something else to look forward to when she launches her new line, lights lacquer!

  4. I ordered one of the KL polishes after seeing her video too! I got Peanut Butter as well, and I freaking love it so much! The color, the application & the wear-time, wow. Perfection. So sad to hear it’s going away!

    1. I haven’t tried that one yet but I’m currently wearing Caramello and the formula is out of this world! I totally agree with everything you said! I’m so looking forward to trying Peanut Butter after this.

  5. Ooh these all look so pretty!! Those will last you awhile for sure! I don’t really do my nails either because not only does painting them take too long, but I hate that they start chipping within a couple of days and I feel like I have to already re-do them again. It’s just not worth it to me, haha. I like the press-on nails though.

    1. Aren’t they? And yes!! Since i don’t do my nails often they will last a long time! 😀 I’ve only used three of them so far and I love the formula! Mine do chip veery quickly too but to my defense, I work with my hands a lot, I cook, I clean, I get my son dressed, wash dishes, everything LOL.. I love press on nails but the last pair I wore totally ruined my nails !! D;

      1. Agreed! I don’t even do that much cleaning or washing dishes during the day and my nails still chip after only a couple of days. So I can only imagine how quickly yours would chip as well! Also I don’t have the patience for like a priming/base coat to dry, then adding the color, then the top coat…it takes forever!
Oh no, how did they ruin your nails? I know I hate taking them off, but Mackenzie said if you get a certain nail polish remover from CVS, they come off pretty easily. Wish I remembered which, but I sure she still knows. And it might be on Amazon or available for order online if you don’t have a CVS there.

        1. I think it’s like day 3 of my current polish and some of my nails have already chipped. 😢 not my fault I have to wash my hands so often lol.
I agree it does take forever especially with the cheaper, lower quality polishes. I was pleasantly surprised when these dried much much quicker.
I’ll have to ask her for the brand of that polish remover. I need one, hopefully its acetone free lol.

          1. Yes and no. Acetone just tends to be kind of drying but is more effective whereas non acetone is less harsh on your nails, but it takes a bit longer for the polish to come off. For me I go with non acetone to avoid drying out my cuticles, etc. Also my nails arent super healthy because the fake nails kind of ruined mine so I dont want to use those harsher chemicals on my nails. That’s really the only reasons I use the one I have. And I dont do my nails often either. I think what I’ll do is do my nails every other week or so. One week with polish, one week without sort of thing.

  6. Ooo. I’ve seriously only watched Kathleen Lights unbox one Boxycharm on YouTube before so I don’t really know who she is but, I have seen these polishes all over the blogosphere. I’ve only ever read good reviews & seen pretty pictures so I did plan to try it in the future but, now I’ll have to wait for the new Lights Lacquer line!!

All of colors you chose are gorgeous. They are a bit “autumnal” but, I think you can wear whatever colors you want on your nails– no matter the season!
