Friday (Beauty) Favorites — April 2019

Happy Friday my dolls!

I have a ton of products in here, you guys are probably not going to believe it!

I haven’t done my makeup much but I have been using most of these products often. A few became instant faves because of their formula so I have to make note of everything here for you because it’s been so long since I’ve done a favorites post! I miss doing these!

FYI: I do have EXTRAS in my video such as TV Shows, Books, and Music, that won’t be included here because there are a lot of things in my favorites as it is. The video does have time stamps in the description if you want to jump to a specific section. Happy watching! xo

Keep on reading / scrolling to see what products have been favorites!
I tried to break it down as much as possible!

P.S. Yes, I understand it’s a ton for a single month, but I really have been using everything!

Starting with..

Eye Makeup

Starting with the Violet Voss Holy Grail PRO Palette, I used this a few times already and loved it immediately. I haven’t gotten around to trying all the shades and creating different looks yet because I’ve been going through all the makeup palettes that are new to me, but I will get to it soon. It’s so good.

Same with the Colourpop Single Pressed Shadows. They’re really nice and I’ve been trying to experiment with them lately. I am already thinking of getting more but I have to make sure I don’t get duplicates of other shades I might have in other palettes.

You guys already know my thoughts on the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil (has been emptied). I’ve already written a full review on it and I love it! I’m sad I’ve finished it!

Face Makeup

I started mixing the NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sun Beam into the BareMinerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation and I have been getting a really nice, glowy, dewy kind of look which I love. The trick is to not add too much liquid illuminator otherwise I’d look like a disco ball.

The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ALWAYS makes it into my favorites. It’s possibly my most favorite. It’s so good and so so affordable. The Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey I just started using, I swirl my brush to get a subtle/lovely highlight for every day use.

I’ve been really loving the Wander Beauty Wanderess Dusk to Dawn Blush & Highlighter Palette and the Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush Blush. I go back and forth between them depending on what I’m wearing on the eyes. The Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer is something I use regularly when I don’t want to contour, to warm up my face since my foundations look a bit light on me.

Lip Products

I’ve been loving the formula of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks from a Mystery Box. I’ve been wearing Flamethrower multiple times and I’m Royalty only once paired with the PUR Festival Palette. It looked gorgeous.

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Celeste and Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Insta-Famous have been used alone, when I want something natural but still want my lips to pop, and as a lip topper as well for that plumping effect. Also the combo looks ridiculously good!

I do also have four Buxom Plumping Lip Polishes (left to right; Camila, Savannah, Iris, and Jordan), which I won in a giveaway on IG. These can be used alone or as lip toppers as well. I really liked pairing Camila with my OFRA Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Verona, the combo looked fantastic when I’m not eating lol.

As you’ve noticed, I have a thing with lip toppers recently.

Skincare

SO. Many. Products!

I initially bought the e.l.f. Nourishing Night Cream because I wanted to try it after running out of my other one. After trying it and loving it, a blogger recommended I get the e.l.f. Daily Hydration Moisturizer as well. And since I loved it too, and had ran out of eye cream, I went out to purchase the e.l.f. Illuminating Eye Cream too!

I tend to mix the Physician’s Formula Bright Booster Oil Elixir every night with the e.l.f. night cream for a hydration boost and my skin wakes up feeling so nice and smooth. And then of course, during the day I do use the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea to refresh my skin. It’s good for on-the-go too.

I did start using both the Simple Skincare Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF15 and the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and they’re both really good products. I want to finish the SPF moisturizer because the brand is not CF and I almost don’t want to use the Elemis one because it’s so expensive and so so good! Luxury at its finest!

Other products are the Thayer’s Witch Hazel which Ingrid recommend. I love it so much! I’m almost out and will be going out to buy a replacement soon! Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm which literally melts my makeup! I don’t need a lot of product which is nice and I also don’t have to worry about doing some sort of double cleanse.

Nails & Haircare

I want to start with nails because this was such a major purchase for me this year, mostly in support of Kathleen. The KL Polishes were quickly a favorite from the first time I tried them and I was so blown away I had to go back and order a few more. See my haul here.

The formula was amazing! I have only worn four shades so far because most of the shades are more suited for Autumn, but I think I will be trying to wear them either way during the summer. Then I have the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, which I use nightly. It’s been really good for repairing my nails and cuticles are wearing fake nails.

For hair care, the HASK Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner have been game changers. I have been looking for sulfate/paraben free products for a long time not finding something I liked until now. My hair feels so much softer!

The L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil I use as a “treatment oil” after washing my hair. It has contributed to managing my frizzy hair and my hair looks shinier and healthier. The Carol’s Daughter Pracaxi Nectar Frizz Tamer has also been another product that aids my frizzy baby hairs when needed, especially for up-dos/ponytails/buns.

Lastly, to style my hair I use the Living Proof T.B.D. Multi-tasking Styler, which is a styling cream, and the NYM Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I go back and forth with these products too and will basically apply them and scrunch my hair while my hair is upside down if that makes sense. Weird, I know but it works for me. Both of these products have made it easier for me to style my hair and be on my way.

I know it’s a lot, and I think it’s because my faves don’t change much from month to month, except for eyeshadow palettes. I have been genuinely reaching for all of these products as of lately. Overtime, they have become my go-to and I’m glad to see some new products in here because for a while, I couldn’t stop reaching for the same stuff, and there were other products that weren’t getting any love.

I’d love to know: what are your favorite products and how often do they change?

  1. Ugh I’m so sad about KL Polish closing down, I love my polishes from her so much!
And I really want to try Buxom lip products one of these days, I’ve never tried anything from them! Great favourites this month 🙂

    1. Yes it sucks, but think about how much better Lights Lacquer will be! I’m so excited to see if the formula will be just as good or better. I’m sure she can make it happen! She’s known to make such good quality products even in collabs!
I only tried these lip polishes so far, I think I have a mascara of theirs waiting for me too LOL.

    1. Just wait for Lights Lacquer! Hopefully Kathleen will ship internationally. I think they had done it very briefly with KL Polish but then stopped and apparently that was one huge red flag that things weren’t going the way they should be. Maybe it’s a rumor, idk, there were so many rumors floating around for a while.

    1. It all depends on your hair type! Mine is wavy but very fine and thin, so the sea salt spray works so well for me. I also use mousse and I love it! My hair has some bounce and volume to it lol

  2. I cannot wait to read your review & see the looks you create with that Violet Voss palette! I love that we both have been reaching for that Wander Beauty Blush & Highlight palette– that must mean it’s really good. 😄

I would love to try those Buxom lip plumpers! How lucky to have won on them on IG! & that Farmacy Cleansing Balm sounds so nice, too! I’ve been wanting to try that brand a little while now.

    1. Well you might have just picked my next palette. I wasnt sure what I should try and the violet Voss palette seems like it should be next anyway lol.
Oh that blush palette is just soo good! Seriously the blush became a favorite so quickly!.
The lip pumplers are so good, the plumping doesnt actually hurt, and they work! I will be doing a review on those at some point.
