LOOKBOOK — 3 Looks Using PÜR The Complexion Authority Festival Pressed Pigment Palette

Happy Friday dolls!

I was initially going to post my review of this palette today! I literally just finished editing the video and photos for it, and was ready to post, but I really liked the looks and thought they deserved their own post so I’m writing this up real quick.

I’m thinking I will post the palette review tomorrow so I can be free to post my full April 2019 Boxycharm review on Monday. So for the first time in possibly MONTHS, expect a post from me on the weekend! LOL.

Anyway, I do miss doing lookbooks and/or posting makeup looks for you, I know a lot of you really enjoy those and I seriously enjoy writing these posts as well. I will have to step my game up, huh? Ok.. I’ll stop there and let you see these looks I’ve created.

#1: Glitter Gala

This was the first look I created. Since it was a “festival” palette I wanted to do something that I don’t normally do, so I went ahead and used both of the glitter shades. In the end I really liked this look and loved the glitter formulas, I’m glad I paired this look with a purple lip, because the look stands out.

I applied these shades on a dry base, meaning I set my primer with powder before applying the shadows. I wanted to see their potential without using any “tricks”.

Shades Used: Epic, All Night, Wild Child, Fireworks, Gypsy, 24k Magic, Free Spirit

#2: Warmed Sunset

I have a tutorial of this look on tomorrow’s video. It will be a review/tutorial of this palette, but since this look was created, I’ve had more time to test it and put my thoughts together. The in-depth review will be tomorrow’s blog post!

Anyway, since it was a look I filmed, I decided to do something quick and simple because elaborate looks do take me a while to film. This look also kind of showcases the kind of looks you can create with the mattes that are available in this palette (only four), without dipping into the purple and pink.

Shades Used: Epic, Hidden Desert, Sunset, All Night, Free Spirit

#3: Purple Aura

The final look is more intense than the other two and this is because I used the “wet” technique. I applied the shadows without setting my primer, and therefore getting more pigment out of them. To say the least, I was not disappointed with the pigment using this method, I think the shades look really stunning and gorgeous.

I paired this look with a purple lip again to match the eyes with my lips. I also used a creme eyeshadow on top of Gypsy on my lid because I felt like a bit of shimmer was missing on the lid. I like the look of it, but I think next time I won’t use the creme eyeshadow.

Shades Used: Wild Child, Epic, Gypsy, Free Spirit

        1. Oh gosh yeah there’s so much for me to learn too, and I think the beauty community is gonna keep growing. There will be a new technique sometime soon I just know it haha.
I’m still trying to perfect my cut creases too. We can do this!
I’m so excited to create more. I need to pick my next palette lol.

  2. Ok how in the world do you pull off every single color on the color wheel so dang well?!?! I’m loving that purple lipstick- it’s sooo chic the way you apply it all. Ah just lovee!

    1. Aw lol thanks Mackenzie! I don’t think I can pull off EVERY color, but thank you! 🙂
Isn’t it gorgeous! Been loving that purple lipstick lately! Never thought I’d wear something so bold! It’s a color that’s so out there, even for me lol. I did get compliments when I went out wearing the first look, haha

  3. Oh my gosh, all three are just absolutely stunning! I think the warm sunset is my favorite, it’s so soft and pretty. But the other two are PERFECT for festival season. I still can’t get over that bold purple lip!! Love! You did an amazing job.

  4. I haven’t created any new looks in awhile but I need to get on it, you are inspiring me! ♡

I am so in love with that first look! It’s so pretty & creative. The glitter turned out so well, especially the bit underneath your eyes! The second one is perfect for an everyday thing & the last one is just so fun & vibrant! Can’t wait until I get to your review post. ♡

    1. Awh I’m glad I’ve inspired you a bit 🙂 I have been doing looks lately but I’m getting bored of this VV palette haha, I think maybe I’ll create one more look, but for the most part I keep feeling like I’m creating the same look just changing the shimmers. I’ll do one last look tomorrow to have a total of 5 looks. I want to move on from this palette already 🙂

And thank you! 🙂 The first was definitely more creative for me than I’ve done before 🙂 the second is my FAVEEE!!

      1. I’m probably gonna play with my HUDA palette from my Plus box several months ago lol I haven’t even touched it yet. 😛 That’s a bit disappointing to hear about the VV palette but the formulas are super nice, right? I gotta catch up on your blog ASAP!! Sorry I am falling so far behind. 😦 😦

I think the first one is my fave but yessss, that second one is gorgeous too!! But we can’t leave out the third either LOL. They’re all so good!!

        1. Don’t beat yourself up about it, I haven’t touched my JSC Blood Sugar palette since I bought it last October.. Well I have… to swatch and take photos, but that’s it.. I’m waiting to get through other ones because I had a fantastic idea after getting the Blue Blood palette. LOL
Yeah the formula is bomb, but we;ve talked about this before, the neutrals and the lack of mattes make or break a palette for ME.. I know for others it doesnt but idk…. I would rather have more mattes to change up the look a bit than to have a ton of shimmers to just change up the eyelid shade you know?
No worries girl! You don’t have to read every single one. You’re not really missing much LOL

          1. I am SO excited to see what you do with your Blood Sugar & Blue Blood palettes. 😀 I saw he is releasing mini palettes?!!

I totally get what you mean about how the lack of mattes can make or break a palette for you. Shimmers are nothing without them!

I will read them all! It’s MY pleasure. ❤ 😀

          2. I’m honestly super stoked too! I hope I can make something happen with both in August haha
And I think only one so far, from the Jawbreaker collection. People have been requesting them for such a long time so let’s hope he eventually releases more because his full palettes are expensive!
Exactly. And I’ve been noticing that a lot of the palettes I was excited about lack the mattes so I feel like I’m creating the same looks over and over again I dont like it so I’m gonna change it up and start using my colorful palettes.

          3. Oh oh I didn’t know it was only going to be one mini palette, wow. It’s going to be special! I bet he’ll do more after the initial excitement wears off. I can’t wait to see the color stories & such. 😀

I noticed that the matte shades that are included in palettes are usually the same shade, too, like tan, nudeish, or browns, right?

          4. People kept requesting mini’s so this was a first just to see how well it does I guess, but I think his bigger palettes will always have the more exciting shades LOL
Yeah, ALWAYS the same, which is why I’m starting to hate anything resembling a neutral palette.. Once you get one, you have them all LOL.
Thats an exaggeration but you know what I mean XD
