Project Pan 2019: Progress & Empties — Update #2

Happy Thursday my dolls!

I apologize for no post and video on Tuesday, but if you follow me on IG, you’d know I was away for a little vacation and ended up coming back home Tuesday night. I may leave that post for another time, but for now, I am giving you an update on my project pan and also to tell you that to make up for only one post this week, I may have two bonus videos/posts next week, for a total of four posts overall (fingers crossed).

Anyway, as you all know, I like to do project pan updates every quarter, that way I give myself time to use up all the products. So let’s find out how I did this second quarter!

For the full (original) list of products in this year’s project pan, feel free to check out my Project Pan 2019 Intro & Products post.

For first quarter empties, check out my Project Pan — Progress & Empties [Update #1] post.

Let’s start with some add-ons!

These are products I found while going through everything recently that I felt I should try to use up, or at the very least, hit pan on. A few I’ve been using for a while, but will be sure to mark the progress for the liquids as of this post.

  • Derma-e Purifying Daily Detox Scrub
  • Derma-e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask
  • Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Micellar Water
  • NIP + FAB Glycolic Fix Scrub
  • Kiss New York Cucumber Soothing Facial Sheet mask
  • PÜR Cosmetics X-Faux Lips Plumping Lip Exfoliator

  • (Unknown Brand) Sensual Amber Body Spray
  • Avon Anew Clinical Absolute Even Spot Correcting Hand Cream
  • Delectable Triple Moisture Body Lotion (Coconut & Cream)
  • Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Mask

  • Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Powder Bronzer
  • Buxom Cosmetics Full-On Lip Polish in Celeste
  • Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter
  • Wet n Wild Coloricon Blush in Apricot in the Middle

Have I Hit Pan?

Only one new product, the Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ombre Blush palette (middle shade only). I’m only using up the middle shade and then tossing it because I didn’t like the other two shades as much.

The pan is more visible in the other products from before AND I did hit pan on a few more shades of my Ulta Rose Gold palette.

I had hit pan on the shade Breathless (third on bottom row), but this second quarter I ended up hitting pan on Dessert (fourth on bottom row—barely), and on Orchid (sixth on bottom row). I am so close to hitting pan on Hopeless Romantic (third on top row), but shimmers tend to take a while for me.

I also haven’t touched my Melisa Michelle x Ulta palette AT ALL so I will* be moving on from this one and seeing if I can hit pan on a shade or two on that one.

Products I’ve Been Using A Lot

I think it has remained the same for this category since my first update. So for a quick recap, here are all the stuff I’ve been using still:

A few of these have already been emptied and there are also a few that have many a handful of uses left, like the Freeman Banana-Oat Instant Smoothing Mask. I am also making loads of progress on the Simple Light Moisturizer SPF15, last time the marker was at the top of the orange line on the label, as of this post, it’s right above ‘Kind to Skin’, which isn’t much I suppose, but still good progress over all.

The Physician’s Formula Bright Booster Oil was below the word ‘booster’ last update, and as of this post, it’s right in the middle of the bottom red flower (straight down the middle) so I’ve used it so much more than I thought! If I keep this up, I may actually empty it before the year ends!

Some makeup products I’m discarding as you’ll see below, but the other I’m pretty close to emptying completely. Super stoked!

READ: Project Pan — Progress & Empties [Update #1]

Last time I showed you guys the liquids up close and how much has been used. So for this update, I would like to compare:

Here’s update #1 from March 2019:

And here’s an update on these liquids (minus the Indigo Wild perfume):

As you can see there’s quite a difference in these products! I am so proud of myself!

Since I added other products to this project pan in between updates, I also took a photo of the liquids, so this will be my “marker” and I will be sure to compare them again in my next update! (I have marked the amount of product with sharpie).

Left to right: Clinique Makeup Remover, Formula 10.0.6 Micellar Water, and Body Spray

Since I’ve been using a few, some are almost completely out!

Project Pan Empties

Now we can move on to the EMPTIES! Grab a snack because it’s a lot of products this time! You guys know I like to do videos to go with my posts, but this time I’m only going over the empties in my video:

P.S. video is not in the same order as this post

* * *

First ones are the Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven masks.

  • Creamy Coconut
  • Black Seaweed Peel-Off
  • Passion Peel-Off
  • Green Tea Peel-Off

I didn’t like the coconut one as much, I felt tingling and burning so I decided to wash it off. This is the second time a coconut mask feels like that, and it baffles me because coconut is supposed to be mild and hydrating.

The Passion Peel-Off I also didn’t like and I can’t remember why, it’s been a while since I’ve used it. I’m so sorry I can’t give more details on this one.

The Green Tea and Black Seaweed were really good, both for cleansing deep down to the pores and peeling them off was so satisfying even though it took much longer to dry fully.

Then I have a few more masks;

Freeman Glacier Water + Pink Peony Gel Cream Mask took forever to finish because it wasn’t a one-time use kind of mask, but it was nice because I was able to leave it overnight and woke up with extremely hydrated and smooth skin! The Kiss NY Cucumber mask was terrible! It literally burned my skin so I took it off immediately.

The Wander Beauty Gold Eye Masks were nice and felt luxe, but they did slip off a bit so I had to stay still. The leftover serum was nice though. The Dr. Dennis Gross Recovery Peel was also nice but I prefer serums with retinol.

I’ve been using these Peter Thomas Roth masks since February, which was an interesting experiment and one I do not recommend because you guys don’t have my skin, and I feel like I got away with it only because they were all gel masks. But anyway, you guys have already seen my full review of all of these so I don’t need to talk about any of them again.

I did also empty the Living Proof T.B.D. Multi-tasking Styler (styling cream) which I thought was nice because I can use it on damp or dry hair AND I could also blow-dry my hair right after with this. It came in handy for the colder months.

The Briogeo Blossom & Bloom took forever to finish because I don’t blow dry my hair and I felt like that’s all it was good for. It did give my hair some volume but it almost felt unnecessary.

The Derma-e Microabrasion Scrub was very rough and harsh so I tried not to use it too often, and I don’t think I would buy the full size.

The makeup products are actually NOT empties but DISCARDS. I’m throwing them out because they no longer apply the way they used to. They have dried out and I don’t want to bother with them anymore.

Lastly, body products! As you can see I went through quite a few lotions, even for me. The Victoria’s Secret Aqua Kiss and the Paris Hilton Body Glistening Lotion were nice, but the VS’s scent is just too strong so I liked the PH one better!

The Delectable Body Lotion was used as a hand cream because it’s small and it fit into my purse/bag. The Avon hand cream is for spot correcting. It’s basically like a sunscreen for your hands. It didn’t do anything for me, I didn’t like.

Last product is actually a roll-on perfume, the Indigo Wild Frankincense & Myrrh, I’m only throwing it away because my husband didn’t like it so I was forced to give it up LOL.

So the total empties for this quarter was 25 products which is insane to me! It’s more than I could ever imagine, so I can only assume next update it will be far less than this!

Even  so, I’m so proud of the progress I have been making, both with emptying and using up many products that I had forgotten about. I cannot wait to see what else I end up emptying this next quarter!

Thank you all so much for reading, I love you guys!
Expect to see me a lot next week! ❤

  1. Well done with the empties and the progress on stuff that’s still in use!

About the face masks… my husband notices a tingle and / or mild burning sensation when he uses face masks with bentonite clay. Kaolin clay is fine, but bentonite seems to cause an unpleasant feel for the first minute or 2 (my husband refuses to wash masks off before they’re dry). There’s never any redness or skin reaction later on, but I wonder if what you’re experiencing might be down to the kind of clay used in the mask. But I’m not a doctor, so I can only guess…

    1. Thanks so much! It was definitely loads of empties and I’m glad I can finally move on to the next batch of products lol.
Ah that makes sense I had been thinking it might be the ingredients as well but I already threw away the packaging so I will have to resort to looking up the ingredients only to see if the products have similar ingredients. I wont be able to narrow it down but it’s a shot in the dark lol

    1. It’s such a nice and pigmented (for its price) highlighter. You can also kick the pigment up a notch if you use setting spray to wet the brush and then dip into the highlighter. It’s super pretty! Perfect for everyday even when you don’t want to wear makeup.

  2. Bravo for finishing that many products! That’s some serious dedication! And I have to say I was so distracted, in a good way, by your amazing bullet journal!! I wish I had penmanship like that 😊.

    1. Thank you I’m literally elated about finishing up that many! Granted it was in the span of three months or so but still that’s huge for me LOL
Awh thanks! 😀 My handwriting isn’t super neat but I do try my hardest when it comes to the bullet journal LOL

    1. Thanks so much!! I have tried so hard with my photography, the only thing is that because I have a free blog, I can’t go all out with high quality photos T_T they take up so much space and I have already had to delete older posts to make some space lol.
But thank you for noticing my improvement! ❤

      1. Photos really do take up a lot of space!! I know I resize all of mine 75% smaller before uploading because I want to push off running out of space as long as possible, lol. But it would be so much harder when photography is a big part of your blog!! I don’t mind my pictures looking crappy but they have a hugely different purpose than yours for sure.

        1. It’s hard with product shots because you can tell when the quality is shit so if I want things to look good they need to be pretty big files LOL
I might have to upgrade eventually obviously, but we’ll see. i do want to put it off as long as possible lo

  5. It is sooo satisfying to see you hit pan on the blush & eyeshadow palette! You’re doing soooo good with your empties, too! I love the Nip + Fab Scrub & the Clinique makeup remover! Such great products! & I make my bf throw away colognes or shaving creams I don’t like, too. 🤣

    1. I know right?? LOL Hitting pan is such a good feeling ha
I still need to use those two products more, I feel like I’ve barely used them at all. I hope my next empties is as successful as this one.
