Sunburst Yellow MOTD

Heyy dolls!

I have finally finished editing the video and photos. I’m so proud of myself lol. I am also super stoked to be wearing this look again 😀 Totally rocking it as I write this and hopefully it’s close enough to the original look I did on Sunday.

Watch me create this look for the first time:

Here is the look again, but recreated for a second time because your girl lost the original photos LOL

Sunburst Yellow

I am so excited to show you guys this look because I’ve been wanting to do one for a while. I feel like for the second summer in a row (possibly more) yellow has been trending. More so this summer because ColourPop released their Uh-Huh Honey palette, so the amount of yellow looks on IG & YT has been super cool.

I am impressed I was even able to pull it off, considering I don’t have that many yellow shades in my palettes. I also had to try using glitter after using the CP’s Sweet Talk’s glitter shades on Saturday. I do hate that glitter gets everywhere but I am really loving how much the glitter stands out in this look.

So obsessed with this look you guys!! Also, these lashes….WOOOWWW!

I typically don’t wear the same look twice, but I loved it so much I’m actually really happy to have had the chance to do it again. I will most likely try to do it a third time because that’s how much I like it! ❤

What do you guys think of yellow makeup looks?
Would you rock them or pass them up??

  1. Awesome look, and any eyeshadow color including yellow looks amazing on you girl! Was just wondering, what is your review on the NYX liquid eyeliner? I use the Sephora Collection liquid eyeliner but it tends to fade if I use too much like when I do a winged eye. How is it with the NYX one?

    Great post as always ❤️

    1. Thank youu! 🙂 And I loove the NYX matte liquid liner, it’s one of the best I’ve used though the eyeliner itself is really flexible, so I guess it depends on whether you like the actual pens or these brush type tips. I say the flexibility of it allows me to really get in there and create thin lines whereas the pencils, you sometimes have to hold the pencil in odd angles to get thin lines. Also, if you use too much of this it does start looking cakey but in all honesty, you don’t need that much to begin with and you’ll get a nice layer of product with one swipe 🙂

  3. Oh my freaking goodness, Rossy!!! I know I said it on Insta, but WOW this look is incredible! It’s so gorgeous, just stunning and breathtaking. It’s so bold, brilliant, and bright! AND, you pull off yellow perfectly! Like, it looks amazing on you. So many people (*cough* me *cough*) can’t wear yellow at all, but you like so gorgeous. LOVE!!

    1. Thank you!! Is it close enough to the original one on insta?? Lol. I know!! I am SHOCKED that I was able to get it to look THIS bold considering my palettes are not super pigmented. I mean it did take a while to build it up but I’m so obsessed because it turned out better than expected. 😊
And thank youu!! I wasnt sure if I could pull it off but I totally like it on me too!! Thank youu! 💛💛
Have you tried to wear yellow before? Like in clothes? If you havent, maybe you havent found that ONE piece that makes the color look great on you. I mean, I felt like that last year with the color mustard but it was the style of the clothes that was wrong for me lol. Either way, I think you should try it and see whether its clothes or makeup. You’ll never know if you never try right?

      1. It really did!! It looked basically the same to me! ❤ You did SUCH a fantastic job! I'm amazed you were able to build it up to such a bold look since your palettes weren't super pigmented. Did you apply them wet? I know that tends to make shadows more bold so I'm curious. Though you probably said so in the post, if so, I'm sorry!
I have tried yellow before and it just looked bad on me, probably because I have cold/pink undertones instead of warm/yellow. Hmm maybe it was the style though!

        1. The palette looks pigmented when swatched, but if used on a dry base it can take a while to build up. I do believe I used the shadows on a wet base, so yeah, that might have helped a ton.

  4. Ooooh this look is soo pretty! I’m obsessed with yellow right now, I’ve been wearing it all the time. That glitter shade really stands out in your photos! I really love how yellow looks good even without a ton of transition shades or darker shadow in the outer corner. All it really needs is a bit of eyeliner & mascara! You should definitely wear this look again!

    1. Thank you! I’m obsessed too! 😀 I kind of wish I could have gotten the Uh-Huh Honey palette but I think I’m good for now xD
I looooove the glitter I used in this look, I wasn’t sure if it would work but it worked much better than I ever expected! I will have to find more uses for it.
Yeah yellow is such an easy color to work with, doesn’t require much. It really brings validity to the saying “less is more” 🙂

      1. Honestly a lot of the shades look the same on the eyes (my eyes at least) so I don’t think you’re missing too much! My review is going up tomorrow. If you can get this look with what you have you probably don’t need it!
I tried out yellow glitter recently and it got everywhere, even in my pets’ fur… How do you keep it from getting on your face when you use it?

        1. We’ve discussed this in a separate post, but this is one way in which I’m able to see if I truly “need” any palette LOL If I can recreate a specific look with what I have, I don’t need it 🙂
And I have glitter primer which is super important, obviously, but the trick is to tap the excess off your brush before bringing it up to your lid. I’ve found that it lessens how much product falls out. Some WILL* still fall out but far less than without tapping off the excess. Also, it’s better to work in sections instead of applying the glitter primer all at once and risk it getting dried before you’re able to get to a specific area on the lid. Also, also, also, if you’re up for it, use your finger, but instead of swiping across, use patting motions to help the glitter “stick” where it’s supposed. I have a tutorial using the glitter shade from the Sweet Talk palette going up tomorrow hopefully if I can finish editing it

          1. That’s a good way to tell!
I need to try that then. I don’t think I was tapping the glitter off even though I used a glue. I was worried about the glitter getting all over my bathroom if I tapped it out lol.
I will also try using my fingers instead of a brush! Thank you for all your tips!

          2. i hope it works for you! just do very light taps or just BARELY**** dip your brush in there, I do that almost to a fault to where it seems like I’m not picking anything up lolololol
no problem!! hope the tips work for you love!

  5. I would so rock yellow eyeshadow if I could make it look just like this. The glitter really does pop out & it really suits your skintone! So in love with this look on you, babe! ♡

    1. honestly girl I’m sure you can do something like this, it wasn’t hard to create a look like this only because it’s such a light shade that it required a LOT of build up, so I was able to blend it out properly and build up the color to the intensity I wanted without making it look too intense, if that makes sense? I’m sorry if it sounds confusing LOL
      Thanks loveeeee!!! ❤
