Current Go-To Summer Eyeshadow Palettes

Heyy dolls!

In trying to do things different around here, today I will be doing something I haven’t done yet. I will be showing you guys my go-to summer eyeshadow palettes. A bunch of you know that peachy shades are my go to, so I feel like this is that post, but I do have a few more palettes I love to use during summer.

When I started going through my palettes I realized I don’t have many colorful palettes, so I decided that I may end up canceling my Boxycharm (sadly) because I feel like I keep getting neutral palettes and that’s no longer fun for me. I want to grow my makeup skills and I don’t want to be held back by a bunch of neutral palettes. So instead, I’ll be saving my money that usually goes towards my Boxy to buy some future releases I’ve been waiting for all year. So anyway, let’s get right into it!

I do a few swatches of these palettes in my video:

Melisa Michelle x Ulta Beauty Makeup Palette

This palette was limited edition and collab with Ulta, I think back in 2017, I don’t remember how I came across it but I thought it looked nice and simple. I think Melisa intended for this palette to be suitable for all skin tones, which I really love because not many beauty influencers would do something like that.

While yes, it is a predominantly warm toned palette, you do get 9 eyeshadows, a highlighter trio, a blush and a lipstick. It was also very reasonably priced ($20 USD I believe) so this was definitely a great price and I think it’d be good for traveling.

Ulta x Jenny Fox Miss Fabulous Palette

This was another collab with Ulta and also limited edition. I got this palette a few months after I bought the Melisa Michelle palette and back then I didn’t have many warm toned palettes so I decided to buy it because I thought it looked really pretty. And I think back then I had barely gotten into peachy/orange shades, so this was a perfect addition to my collection.

Anyway, I love using this palette during the summer and I also think it’s one of those palettes that transitions well into Autumn season as well. I think I’ll be sad if I hit pan on my favorite shades (Fab, Fox, Arizona, Frankie, and Guruā€”most of the mattes basically) but I do also have a few palettes that look similar to this, so I guess in the end it wouldn’t be so bad.

BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Eyeshadow Palette

My only colorful palette in this post, sadly. As I gathered my palettes for this post I realized I practically have no more than three. So this post convinced me to let my Boxycharm go. I will probably cancel it in September after getting my last BoxyLuxe.

Anyway..while this palette is chalky, I really don’t mind that because I can make it work for me. Being one of the few color palettes I own, I do gravitate towards this one often when I need some color. I own two of their 88 palettes (matte & shimmer) but those palettes are more toned down. The 88 palettes look more pastel, whereas this one is much bolder and has a better shade range.

Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Caribe Vol. 1 Eyeshadow Palette

Ah yes, one of my favorite palettes last year. I came up with seven looks and they were all very well received by many of you, so thank you for that! šŸ™‚

When I first received this palette in my Boxycharm, I was skeptical about the shades overall, I didn’t think they would go well together, but to my surprise, they did.

When I swatched them I was flooded with ideas for looks, hence why I came up with SEVEN! Anyway, the formula of this palette is AMAZING and I also love the colors very much! I hope to create one more look with this palette this summer!

ColourPop Sweet Talk Pressed Powder Palette

Last palette in this list is one I keep talking about, I feel like. It’s my focus palette for July, so I’m still technically testing it, but after trying it out the first time, I fell in love with it. The formula is amazing and I’m a sucker for peachy shades so why not right? Maybe this one can replace my Miss Fabulous palette if I ever hit pan on that one, since this one will probably be around longer.

Anyway, I know it’s another neutral palette, but I DON’T CARE! The shades are gorgeous, and I love how well it blends. I am hoping to post a lookbook this week and my review and a tutorial next week, so stay tuned for all that! šŸ™‚

These are just a few palettes that I tend to reach for more often. There are a few others that I use every once in a while, but they’re not ones I’d use enough to include in this list. As I mentioned at the beginning, I will be cancelling my Boxycharm just because I want to start getting things that I want. I feel like these boxes are great to grow your collection as you’re getting more into makeup, but I’m at the point where I’m getting better and I need palettes that push my creative boundaries.

    1. The ColourPop one is soooo gorgeous!! I honestly think it’s one of those palettes that anyone can use and get loads of use out of it whether you want a nice everyday look, or something rosey, springy or summery šŸ™‚

        1. They’re definitely very bright and bold so I do understand they can be quite intimidating but I always say it’s best to try them out because you will never know how much you like them until you try. Sometimes certain shades taken a while to come around lol.

  1. I love that the Melisa palette is designed to suit all skin tones, as itā€™s only fair and should be the done thing really. Like you say, itā€™s not often that considered in the beauty world but hopefully things are going in the right direction and products are becoming way more inclusive everyday. Having worked on makeup counters myself, Iā€™ve seen first hand how some brands do not have enough diversity and itā€™s awful. So props to Melisa for being so thoughtful, considerate and inclusive!

That BH palette looks right up my street oh my šŸ˜šŸ˜ what an incredible collection of colours. I use the NYX brights palette when I want to reach for more colour, but I do like the look of this palette a lot and really enjoy the colour range. Thereā€™s so much choice šŸ˜

The four middle shades in the Alamar palette (the two blue-ey / green / turquoise toned ones and the red-y orange ones underneath look absolutely gorgeous!

Great post Rossy, thanks for sharing and inspiring as always ā¤ļøā¤ļø

    1. I hope so too! Its 2019 and it’s time that everyone feels included. Beauty and makeup is a one size fits all. I get some beauty gurus want to make something unique and different but in my honest opinion, catering to all skin tones IS unique and different and we keep seeing a bunch of the same stuff all the time anyway lol. Time for some change.
I’m not sure if BH cosmetics has this palette anymore. I actually wrote the wrong name on my post and I still havent fixed it oops lol this one is the Take Me to Brazil and their 2nd version is called Take Me Back to Brazil, which has a few more shades. I think only the 2nd version is available, probably a re-formulation I’m not sure. Lol. But anyway yes it’s a really nice color palette and has most of the colors I need.
Ah those exact same shades you mentioned in the Alamar palette are MY FAVEEEE!! lol you got good taste šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰
Thanks for stopping by Jennie! I’m sorry if I’ve fallen behind on reading your blog. I’ll catch up soon lol

  2. Ooh thank you for sharing, Rossy! What a fun idea to share about the ones you tend to reach for the most. I especially love the ColorPop palette and the Melisa Michelle x Ulta Beauty Makeup Palette! They are SO pretty and I love that the Melisa Michelle one took into consideration all skin tones! ā¤

          2. Oh yeah the Becca powder looked nice! I’m excited for it too. And it seems like even if you cancel you’re still able to get that months box without a waitlist so nice! Hopefully I’m able to do that as well in the future lololol

          3. EEE!! I got my box today!!! Everything looks so nice. šŸ˜€ On their site, it says you can still get this month’s box if you sign up before Aug 15th. I feel like the ‘waitlist’ is just a threat lol!
