Favorites — July 2019

Hii dolls!!

I’m excited to do another favorites, but I’m also shocked at myself because I have never done monthly favorites three months in a row! I usually go for the same kind of products for months but I’ve surprised myself because I’ve been changing it up a bit. Maybe that’s just one of the pros of having plenty of makeup and skincare to have on rotation.

Just want to mention a few shows I’ve been watching, all on Hulu.

I’ve been watching The O.C. since May, so technically this should have been in my May/June Favorites, but yeah. I have been enjoying it even though it is a bit predictable but I like the mixture of drama and a bit of comedy.

We also like watching Malcolm in the Middle when we want something light-hearted and hilarious. We just can’t get enough of it!

Then of course was the big hit, Stranger Things Season 3! Whoooaaaaaa! I fucking loved it and we binged-watch the shit out of that show that same weekend! I love the plot twists it has and I of course have my theories on what the next season will be about, so we can talk about it in the comments if you guys want.

And then I have been watching anime, Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto Shippuden, both on Hulu. TG I’m re-watching and I LOOOVE it, so dark! And Naruto is more light-hearted and sweet with a bit of action and what-not. My son really likes Naruto, it’s cute.

I am SHOCKED that I have this many shows, I usually stick to just one at a time, so yeah, lots of surprises this month LOL.

I got a few things that I wanted to share with you guys as well..

Room DIYs

I like the DIY’s I recreated, and I got a few more to show you guys.. 🙂

August BuJo

I LOVE my pineapple themed Bujo for this month, and I know my BuJo has been part of my faves for a few months now, but that’s because it’s been very helpful to me. I have been able to plan out my workload, etc.

Also how cute are the pineapples?

I picked up The Great Gatsby from the library and have been enjoying reading it. It’s very similar to the movie so far, and I like the writing style and how descriptive it is. I’m not done with it yet, but so far I like it.

I also got this lovely Life in the Sloth Lane book that my wonderful husband gifted to me one day out of the blue and it took me by surprise, so yeah it was lovely.

It’s the cutest thing ever I think, it has a LOT of baby and adult sloth pictures with many positive quotes, and I like opening it and reading one or two quotes whenever I pick it up.

The Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask was a very nice treat to receive in my July Boxycharm. I liked it since the first time I tried it, and I really think it’s one I’ll be reaching for more often this summer. It just feels refreshing and it’s something I’ve never tried before.

The Farmacy Honeymoon Glow is a great serum! I think it has been a great product to have in rotation in my skincare routine, and I do use it two to three times a week. It has made my skin look a bit brighter, I think.

The Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen I found at Walmart while I was looking for a coral-reef safe sunscreen. I mainly got it for my kiddo but I’ve used it a few times and really like it for myself as well. I am thinking I may like sprays better but we’ll see..So far I like it and it’s nice, I like how the bottle turns blue when in harmful UV light.

Fourth Ray Beauty

I’ve mentioned I like these products before and I have been keeping my eye on their IG because they have been releasing other products I’m super interested in, but for now, these are working so well!

I absolutely love them! Their products are absolutely affordable and high quality! You guys need to look into this brand, no joke!

I got so many makeup products so I’ll try to go through them quickly..

ColourPop Brow Boss — it’s a good product, I can do my brows quickly because it has a thin tip, but I”m not sure this will replace my favorite one.. We’ll see..

Essence I Love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base — really great for wet-based looks and it also enhances some shades.

e.l.f. Glitter Primer — it works really well! I don’t know if they sell it anymore, but it’s really really good!

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer — feels very hydrating especially during hot days, and it almost feels like a moisturizer on the skin.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Concealer — I like it a bit better than the NYX one but I still don’t think it’s the one, however, it’s working for me right now, has great coverage and it sits really well on my skin.

Bare Minerals Original Powder Foundation — I love wearing this foundation during the summer because it just sits so nice on the skin, and since it’s powder, it’s perfect for the season.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer — My favorite highlighter! Looks stunning and it looks so natural on me. Perfect for strobing!!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm — My fave drugstore formula, hands down! Enough said!

Buxom Cosmetics Full-On Lip Polish in Celeste — My go-to for simple makeup days!

You all know I love this palette, I couldn’t leave it out! Love it so so much!

I shared with you guys my orange lipstick collection and I think it’s a great shade to wear during the summer, and I have been reaching for a few of these this season.

Sunburst Yellow Makeup Look

I was able to do this look again for my post here, and I feel like for that reason I became fond of this look and these colors. I wasn’t sure if yellow would look good on me and all of you were so nice and sweet to me that it does, so I appreciate all of you! ❤

  1. SO many good favorites! I love the OC it was such a good show back in the day! Blue Lizard is one of my favorite sunscreens! It is so funny because I think I am one of the few people who actually prefers the lotion! I hope you have an amazing August! ❤

    1. Ah nice!! 😀 I hope the ending is good, I’m on S3 right now I think? LOL
Yay! I’m glad to know someone else has used this sunscreen too! I’m glad you love it! I may have to keep using it and maybe the lotion will grow on me but I think I just prefer the sprays because it’s quicker for me XD haha I hope you have an amazing August as well love!!

    1. I’d say not super far, considering how long the fucking show is LMAO we’re about 100 episodes in where they are about to encounter Guren. I’ve read the manga a few years back and loved keeping up with it each week as it was being released. Seeing all of that come to life is quite amazing.

        1. Yeah I like to read things first before I watch, and usually I watch the anime first and THEN read the manga, but it was the other way around with Naruto because I started reading it when it was like, about 300 chapters in or so? I don’t really remember, so I really got the opportunity to follow it as it went so that was super chill. But yeah watching it so awesome!

    1. Aw thanks! It’s my fave look this year I think? LOL and I know NYX has a single pressed face powder (it’s for eyes but it’s marketed for the face for some reason) I’m not sure if they sell it in stores or not, I got mine at Ulta, however, it does lean more neon-ish than pure yellow, it’s not the best, but I’m not sure of any other yellow shades in drugstore. you could also try ColourPop? They have lots of singles!

    1. OMG RIGHT???? S3 was by far the best one, it was so cinematic, the plot twists were AMAZING and it was just overall so fun to watch the entire time. HAha sameee! I finished it that weekend as well, I was sooo disappointed because I have to wait like a year for S4!! Nooo!!! What do you think is going to happen next season?? I have my theories, that maybe Hopper isn’t dead? But who knows.. It might be another character entirely, but….idk! I was soooo sad about Alexei though!!! T_T

      1. Oh my gosh Alexei, I forgot about him! I def don’t think Hopper is gone, I’m sure there’s a lot more to the story! But the kids are starting to grow older really quickly – not sure how long the series can go on for before it starts to become something totally different. They’re teens now!

        1. Yeah I totally cannot wait for it. It will be interesting.
And yeah, I’m sure we wouldn’t want this to become the next 13 reasons why lol. I liked that show but omg they didn’t need to keep going though I get what message they’re trying to convey

          1. I’m very behind on 13 Reasons! I never watched season 2 cause season 1 depressed me so bad! But I know season 3 is coming, so maybe I’ll try and play catch up. We’ll see 😏.

  2. Love these favorites! Malcolm in the Middle is too funny! I love that it’s on Hulu too, I didn’t know that. It used to be on Netflix. 😦 I still haven’t watch any of Stranger Things! That definitely needs to change. Joshua & I haven’t really gotten back into watching TV shows consecutively since moving and I miss it.
Ooh The Great Gatsby is on my to-read list on Goodreads! I haven’t watched the movie either, but I probably will after reading the book. Good to know that you are liking it though! I’m not a huge fan of classics so I don’t know if I will like it.
And oh my goodness, that sloth book!! So so so cute. I love it! How sweet of Alex to just pick it up for you!!
How cool about that Blue Lizard sunscreen actually having the bottle turn blue. I just got a new sunscreen on Amazon, it’s mineral-based, so I guess it’s considered sunblock technically. Anyway, it’s a face sunscreen and I didn’t get burned with swimming, so I think it worked pretty well! The brand is Australian Gold which is why your sunscreen reminded me of it lol.

  3. I should really get back to the OC. I haven’t watched it since I binge-watched it one night. I LOVE Malcolm in the Middle, it’s so freakin’ funny lol & that’s super cute how into Naruto Ciel is. ❤ That sloth book is the cutest ever! How sweet of Alex to gift it to you!

I need to work on wearing sunscreen. That Blue Lizard one sounds super cool turning blue in harmful light, wow! The Fourth Ray Beauty bottles are so dang pretty & so are YOU!!! Yellow is amazing on you & that look is just gorgeous– def one of my faves of yours so far. ❤

    1. it gets better, like i said, it’s predictable, but it doesn’t mean everything in between is bad.
I knowww! he literally puts his arms back and runs like a ninja! hilariously cutee!
you must girl! specially a facial moisturizer with spf, very important! even more so during cloudy days apparently LOL
awww you’re the best! thanks for all your kind compliments all the time ❤

      1. I don’t mind predictable sometimes! 🙂

LOLing about Ciel running around like a ninja… way TOO cute!! ❤

I know I really need to get SPF something on my face. I'm about to be a prune, no lie. 😦

        ❤ ❤

        1. Have you gotten into the OC yet? If not, no worries. I got a bunch of shows I’m watching at the moment too lol
Yeah there’s a few I’d recommend like Simple Skincare (not CF) and Formula 10.0.6 (they say they’re CF, I gotta check again). They’re both pretty affordable.
