Project Pan 2019: Progress & Empties — Update #3

Heyy dolls!

It’s the end of another week and it’s been exactly three months since I last updated you on my project pan, which means… It’s time for another update!! We’re also 3/4 into the year so this will be my second to last project pan update and I cannot wait for you to see how I did this quarter! 🙂

Let’s get started so you guys can see how I did.

For the full (original) list of products in this year’s project pan, feel free to check out my Project Pan 2019 Intro & Products post.

Check out my 1st Qtr Update here, and my 2nd Qtr Update here.

Have I Hit Pan?

Unfortunately not in this quarter, I feel like I’m just trying to keep hitting side pan on products I’ve already hit pan on. I have neglected some products like my Melisa Michelle x Ulta makeup palette, so I really need to get on that this season.

Products I’ve Been Using A Lot

This category has been the same as my last update. I have emptied some as you’ll see towards the end of this post, but yeah. Nothing here has changed much though I did add a few more products into my rotation fro products that were add-ons in June.

Project Pan Empties

I have a video of mini reviews and I will be brief here with you. Onto the reviews!!

Bath & Body

First up, the Victoria’s Secret Love Spell Luminous Lotion. Didn’t like it at first, loved it even more during the summer. It just made my skin look so glowy and radiant in the sun, I’m of course a fan of that. And I love the scent too. My fave scent from VS! Not CF!

The Briogeo Rosarco Milk I’ve reviewed many times here on my blog. I like it. Great for detangling my hair and making it look a bit softer and shinier.

The OUAI Wave Spray was amazing but I HATED the scent. It was too strong and it made my hair smell like perfume, so I couldn’t stand it. Too bad because it really made my wavy hair look great.

The Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton perfume is one of my favorite fragrances. I’m not sure which this is but it’s a classic one. I think I have a full size but will need to buy another one just in case I run out.

Skincare & Makeup

Next, the Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Micellar Cleansing Water, this was a sensitive formula and I absolutely loved it. So nice and gentle. Totally felt like it cleansed my skin and I love that it didn’t feel drying.

The Physician’s Formula Bright Booster Oil Elixir was a bit thicker than I would have liked, but I loved it for winter. I did ease up on using it during the summer, but since we didn’t have many hot days, I was able to get away with using it still.

The Simple Skincare Hydrating Cleansing Oil was pretty good. It melted my makeup fairly well. At first I didn’t like it but the more I used it, the more I liked it. Now that it’s emptied, I wish I still had some. Too bad they’re not CF.

Next is some makeup, and the first product is the Wet n Wild Photofocus Face Primer which I liked. It was lightweight, absorbed into the skin, felt a bit hydrating and my makeup went on nicely.

I also emptied the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer which was more hydrating than the WnW one in my opinion. Frankly I think the WnW was up to par with this one. The formula felt almost the same to me. Both are great. This one is just a tad bit pricey.

Lastly in this section, the Essence Prettifying Lip Oil. My FAVORITE! I’m so sad that I’ve emptied it because I cannot find it anywhere! Can’t find the Milani ones either which may mean they have been discontinued. While it was a bit sticky, I don’t mind because it was affordable and I love that it hydrated and smooth my lips.

Skincare: Masks

Next is the Freeman Banana Oat Instant Smoothing Mask. I liked this mask and used it before doing a full face of makeup when using liquid foundation. It applied smoothly and made my skin feel soft and smooth as well. I have two more of these. Yikes!

The Dermovia Lace a Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask was an interesting one not because of the bamboo charcoal but because it came with lace masks that you would wear to compress the product. I thought they were a bit unnecessary, the product worked just fine without it and still peeled off fine. The mask was great and really got deep down to the pore. Would love to have this again but probably wouldn’t use the lace masks.

The Freeman Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals Clay Mask was a fun one because it was BLUE! I remember it being nice, cooling, a bit hydrating. Would probably get it again because it has lavender and bergamot, which is good for stress.

Lastly, Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask was one of my favorites. It is a dermal resurfacer, so it kind of exfoliates your skin. It did feel a bit irritating around my nose which was expected, that’s a sensitive area of my face. However, it was great and I love that it smells like PUMPKIN!!

So I emptied 14 products this quarter, which is less than in June. I’m totally fine with that. I feel that as long as I make some kind of progress and empty some things, I’m getting closer to my goal, regardless of the amount. I’m excited to see my results at the end of the year, so with only three more months to go, I think I will try to do my best to empty a few more! So wish me luck with that! 🙂

Anyway, since it’s Friday, I’d love to know if anyone has any plans this weekend?
I think we’re going shopping (yay) maybe I’ll do a collective haul video soon! 😉

Have an amazing weekend guys! See you guys back on Tuesday! 🙂

  1. I’m gonna have to try the Wet n Wild Photofocus primer! I’m always on the hunt for a good drugstore primer and so far I haven’t found one I really liked.

    1. I really like it, I would like to try the NYX ones as well but they’re a bit on the pricier side compared to WnW.. There’s also an Essence one I got my eye on, but I will have to buy it later.
Btw, I sent you an email last week regarding the package. You were supposed to receive it on Tuesday but I never got word from you if you received it okay or not.

      1. I want to try the NYX primers too but they are pricey. NYX products are usually really good quality so I’m sure its worth it! Also, I did get the package, thank you so much!! I loved everything and can’t wait to try it all out! 🙂 I tagged you in a picture on my ig story the day it came.

        1. Eventually I will get to buy one. Right now I am pretty stocked up on face primers LOL
Awh yay! I’m glad to hear you got the package! And I’m sorry, I tend to stay off social media for several days at a time, and even more so if I have nothing to post, so I must have missed it! 😦

  2. I’m interested in trying out some drugstore cleansers/cleansing oils in the near future. I may investigate that one from Simple then! What was the Physician’s Formula oil like? Is it a facial oil?

    1. I need to find another one for myself, unfortunately my options are limited because not many drugstore skincare brands are CF. 😦 I’ll have to check Ulta too.
And yes, the PF oil is a facial oil 🙂

  3. Well done on everything you finished up! I’ve tried the Too Faced Hangover primer in the past and while I liked it it’s not holy grail status for me. I’m not ruling out trying it again future but I’m not rushing out to purchase it either 😛

        1. A drugstore primer I really liked was the Wet n Wild Photofocus Face Primer, I believe they have a matte one too and a dewy one too? And a high end one was the CoverFX Blurring Primer and another by Hourglass. I love how they feel on the skin and I love how my makeup looks with those.

    1. Thank you!
And yeah I couldn’t pass up the chance to grab several of this one and another because they were on sale! Haha so in reality, I have two of each mask, one of this banana oat, and the other is an avocado one, so I have four bottles in total. I have no idea if I will be able to finish two more before the end of next year but one can hope lol.

  4. My sister always used Love Spell by VS body spray in high school so that scent always reminds me of her. I’ve never used a micellar water but, I want to start. The Totally Clean one sounds nice! & The lace for the mask does sound super pointless, lol. 14 products is so good! Great job! I can’t wait to see your last update of the year. 😄

    1. You definitely need to try a micellar water!! They’re amazing! LOL
I have more empties aside from my project pan but I just haven’t had the chance to make a post on them. Hopefully this upcoming week!

  5. You did a really good job this quarter, Rossy! It may be less than June, but still great. 🙂
I like the sound of that micellar water! I’ve never used micellar water, I usually just use makeup wipes, but I’ve heard so much about micellar water. I want to try it out!

    1. I’m honestly just stoked that I’ve made loads of progress with these because I am* trying to finish them up you know? LOL So I’ll take any amount haha
You must try micellar waters! They’re quite nice and the ones I’ve tried leave my skin feeling hydrated and clean, though if I’m wearing a full face of makeup I will double cleanse just in case 😉

      1. I love that you’re so committed to using what you already having and finishing them up! You’re doing a great job. 🙂
Ooh that sounds nice! Okay, when I use up the rest of my makeup wipes, I’m going to try micellar water! ❤

        1. I try my best but I don’t always use the stuff I have here LOL
Micellar water would also be less wasteful than using makeup wipes, despite the fact that makeup wipes are quick too. I personally keep a pack handy for emergencies and buy another when I’m about to run out but I will usually always use a makeup remover first, which is also why I have that makeup removing towel we talked about some time back 🙂

          Liked by 1 person

          1. I hadn’t thought about micellar water being less wasteful than wipes! I suppose that’s true since it’s only a bottle instead of all the wipes. Good point! Now if they could just make it in glass/metal bottles and let us reuse them. 😉
In theory, I still want to get that reusable makeup removing towel, but I’m concerned it won’t work well on waterproof mascara.

          2. Yeah 🤗🤗 I still use cotton rounds or balls which I really shouldn’t but perhaps I’ll try to find like baby washcloths since they’re small for whenever I use micellar water haha that way they’re more “reusable” and I can throw them in the wash if needed. 🤗 honestly if you have a better idea than me I’m all for listening I really want to reduce waste here as much as I can and beauty would be a good place for me to do so as well

            Liked by 1 person

          3. Using those baby washcloths instead of cotton balls is a great idea! I’ll have to try to do that as well when I start using micellar water!
I knowww, literally everything in beauty is packaged in plastic and it’s so wasteful. I know of a few brands that use metal or glass packaging, but it’s understandably pricy, though unfortunately it’s too expensive for me to use. :/

          4. Yay for great ideas then! Lol. If you have anything else in mind, help me! I will gladly do whatever I can to be more sustainable. I may end up making my own makeup remover as well but need to find a good one that doesnt require as much coconut oil.
I actually have been re-using some plastic pots, the small ones and repurposing them for products that I’m about to run out of, especially if said products come in squeeze tubes lol. It’s kind of handy and I’m not throwing out as much plastic now. I keep them just in case. A few of them came in handy for my falsies when I take them off so I dont lose them 🤣🤣

            Liked by 1 person

          5. Ahh yes a lot of homemade makeup remover uses coconut oil. You can even just use coconut oil alone and it *does* work well to remove makeup, but I found it breaking me out when I tried.
Omg good job!! Great idea to reuse those plastic containers where possible. I need to do that too.
And I will def let you know any ideas that come to mind for sustainability! I’m loving your ideas! Every step counts. 🙂

            Liked by 1 person

          6. A lot of people have said that too, perhaps I haven’t taken a closer look to see if it breaks me out or not, but I may end up having to make it at home because I cant find affordable ones that will take my makeup off without wasting wipes, also it needs to be CF and that’s also hard to come by for some strange reason, and I’ve noticed micellar water won’t really do a good job at taking a full face off

            Liked by 1 person

          7. Ah yeah about the makeup towel, look at reviews and if you plan on getting one from Amazon you can ask questions or browse through ones that have already been answered. I bet you’re not the only one who’s concerned about it removing waterproof mascara
