LOOKBOOK — 7 Looks Using Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blue Blood Palette

Hii dolls!

Posting two days in a row?? Who am I? Let’s not get used to it because I will surely disappear for a few days! I hope you guys are having an amazing February. I know I am despite it starting a bit badly. I meant to post this last month but life gets in the way sometimes and it forces me to delay things here. But let’s get on with this..

I have been loving doing lookbooks and I decided towards the end of last year to have a focus palette each month. That means you will get a lookbook AND a palette review each month until I have gone through all the palettes I need to review.

For today’s lookbook I’m using the JSC Blue Blood palette as you’ve read in the title. I bought this palette when it launched and didn’t start using it until I did my Christmas Lookbook, so you will see some of those looks here again.

Also, I feel like I need to say this: I am well aware not everybody likes Jeffree Star, and I am okay with that. Even so, I will* be sharing future lookbooks, palette and* product reviews of his stuff, so if you’re not interested you can skip those posts. 🙂

Also, also, perfect timing to posting a lookbook using one of his palette as he released a video of his new Blood Lust palette yesterday. It looks neat and purple is my favorite color, but if I’m being truthfully honest, I wasn’t into it so I don’t think I will be adding it to my collection anytime soon. But I digress…

*

Here’s what the palette looks like if you’re not familiar with it.
It’s very gorgeous but it’s definitely not a color story for everyone.

Look #1: Winter Blues

This has got to be one of my favorite looks that I’ve created with this palette! I decided to do this look on a whim on a night that my husband and I were going out for drinks with my cousin. She ended up really liking my makeup and honestly, so did I.

Shades Used: Blue Blood, I’m Cold, Mintea, Deceased, Ice Tray and Cullinan

12daysofxmas_day2

Even though it’s an all-blue look, it is very soft and surprisingly wearable and not too over-the-top. What do you think? Do you agree?

* * *

Look #2: Winter Wonderland

I knew I wanted to do another all-blue look and decided to use a blue shade for the eyebrows and I really liked how it brought the look together.

I don’t remember what shades I used, sorry! 😦

12daysofxmas_day6

I really loved the gradient on the lid and how easy it was to blend each shade together. I literally didn’t have a problem with blending or building up shades when needed.

* * *

Look #3: Starry Night

This look was inspired by Mrs. Strawberry Blonde’s NOTD. I did mess up the stars and I also didn’t have a dark enough silver shade as her mani, but I did my best and I’m okay with it lol.

I don’t remember what shades I used! 😦

12daysofxmas_day9

Again, I really don’t think I did her mani any justice but I can only do so much lmao.

Look #4: Smokey Pop of Color

Since this palette does have a few shades that are neutral, I really wanted to take advantage and create a soft, smokey eye with a pop of color.

Shades Used: Celebrity Skin, Priceless, Wealthy, Crystal Flesh, Ice Tray, Undertaker

jsc_blueblood_smokey_pop_of_color

The only thing I didn’t like is that the neutral shades don’t show up on my skin tone as much, but despite that, I think they’re great for diffusing the darker colors.

Look #5: Deep Ocean

The darkest look in this lookbook, I cannot believe I didn’t create more.
The dark shades are really brilliant and stunning.

Shades Used: Blue Monday, Cremated, Blue Blood, Ocean Ice, Cullinan

jsc_blueblood_deep_ocean

I did have a bit of trouble with the shade Cremated, and I don’t know if it was because of the order I applied the shades or if it really is not the best. I think I need to keep playing with it.

Look #6: Cool Au Naturale

This is the least favorite look in this lookbook because it looks lackluster. I think it was because I ended up setting my eyeshadow primer, but I could be wrong. The neutral shades were not my fave though.

Shades Used: Wealthy, Priceless, Celebrity Skin, Power, Crystal Flesh

jsc_blueblood_cool_au_naturale

There aren’t many neutral shades in this palette, which is fine. But for that reason, I don’t think this palette is for everyone. The blue shades shine the most obviously, as you’ve seen some the other looks in this lookbook.

Look #7: Pink & Blue Pastels

Another favorite look. At first I wasn’t into this combination but the pink and the blue go well together and I really appreciated this pastel moment.

Shades Used: Deceased, Blue Blood, Untouchable, Cullinan

jsc_blueblood_pink_blue_pastels

The combination is literally perfect, I cannot get over it. I might try something like this again but with the darker blues.

I plan on doing more looks with this palette, I am NOT done coming up with ideas so these are just a few, I wanted to stop at number seven because that’s my favorite number. Anyway be on the lookout of a review of this palette sometime next week!

What do you think of blue makeup? Your thing or nah?
Which is/are your favorite look(s)??

    1. Honestly those are my favorite ones as well! ❤ 🙂 I think blue eyeshadow has been the hardest to work with and make it look more "natural" because it's such a bold color, but I totally love playing with it more than I initially thought I would. cobalt blues are super gorgeous in my opinion! ❤

    1. thanks gorgeous! 🙂 i think a great way to get into blue shades slowly and at your own pace is to get single shadows in lighter colors, or maybe even a dark cobalt beautiful shimmery shade for a bold smokey eye would look super pretty and you’d be adding blue to your look in a subtle way idk 🙂
      thanks for stopping by 🙂

  1. You’ve done it again Rossy! Always so talented! My favourite looks have to be 4, 5 and 7 but honestly, they are all flawless. I just really love number four because I think there’s such an effectiveness about it, and in number 5 the colour just looks phenomenal! I love the color story of this palette and I am so excited to see more looks which you create with it and of course, other future lookbooks 😍 thanks so much for sharing, talented Queen!

    1. Thanks Jennie 🙂 5 and 7 are among my top favorites from this lookbook. I’m so happy with the way they turned out but I am sure with more practice they can look so much better, I do see a few flaws lol.
I do plan on more looks with this palette. For now, seven looks will do until I can get through a few more palettes haha 😀
Thanks for always stopping by beautiful!! <33

  2. These looks all look perfect! I’d be so intimidated by the color palette, but I love seeing how people are always able to pull off creative looks with them. The Winter Wonderland look is so bold, I love it. So happy seeing another post from you! You give me lots of makeup inspo whenever I’m brave enough to try it, haha.

    1. Awh thanks Stephanie 🙂 yes, a lot of people are intimated by blue shades because they are much more bold than other colors in my opinion. I love seeing a lot of creative looks using blue as well, they are some of my favorites recently.
I’d love to see any makeup look you do, I am so honored to inspire ❤ xx

      1. I think blue and green would be so cool to wear out somehow. It’s definitely an art! I’ll have to see if my sister will do my eye makeup whenever I visit her since she’s better with all of that than I am, but I’ll definitely note the occasion!

  3. Honestly they’re all so beautifully executed! I’m always going to prefer the soft, more “wearable” looks but look #5 really got me! What a gorgeous deep blue eye! I haven’t tried any of Jeffree’s shadows before, but I can imagine the quality is off the hook.

    1. Thanks so much Erica ❤
Yeah this is definitely not the kind of palette you'd want if you want soft wearable looks. In fact, I found it difficult making a decent neutral look with this one but that's okay because the blue shades were really amazing and I wanted to keep using them lol
Yes look #5 is one of my favorites! Came out better than I expected. 🙂

    1. Deep ocean is one of my favorites too! So dark and mesmerizing ❤ ;D and yes, we are so super mysterious 🙂
I want to play with colored eyebrows more often I like the idea of colors matching my eyeshadow or the color of my wigs, which I want more of btw haha

        1. I’ve done it several times before and loved it. I am itching to do it again haha I really loved the blue brows, if only I could have done that when I had blue hair. which I might do again 😀

          1. Yes I use the NYX white eyeshadow base (comes in a little jar/pot) and I scoop some out with a brush and use a spoolie to brush through my brows. It enhances eyeshadows too and it allows the shadows to stick to something too 🙂

  4. I am SO happy you will be posting your reviews & lookbook for JSC even though many people are haters on him. ♡ You know I’m a huge fan & all his makeup intrigues me BUT, I so agree about the new Blood Lust palette. It didn’t seem as edgy or curated as the red & blue ones.

I totally agree about the Winter Blues look. It’s soft & out there yet, totally wearable. The blue brow in the 2nd one is WOW & yesss, that inner corner gradient looks amazing, so dang crisp.

Deep Ocean is my #1 favorite out of all these, wow! Love the sparkles & just ugh, it’s so dark & extremely pretty! I actually really like that pinkish color in the Au Naturale look, too. I get what you mean about the neutrals not really showing up on your skin– same happens to me. 😭 That last one is my 2nd favorite. Reminds me of bubblegum or cotton candy! So cute!

Can’t wait to see more looks from this palette when/if your create more!

    1. I thought I might have been the only one who felt that way about the Blood Lust palette. Everyone is saying how gorgeous it is etc and also I think it would be a bit too big in my vanity or drawers haha
Everyone has liked those blue brows and i totally want to do that again. I think i want blue hair one more time lol.
Deep ocean is one of my favorites too I’m so glad you like it!
The neutral soft shades are okay for blurring out harsh edges but not so much for an actual look lol.
And omg I should have called my last look cotton candy instead haha i see it now. I love that look too looks so cute 😁
Thanks for stopping by like always 💙💙💙💙💙💙

      1. That’s why we are soul sisters, lol!! ❤ I was seriously *just* showing boyfriend photos of all his palettes & I was saying how disappointed I was in the shades he chose for this one?? Boyfriend actually said he liked them though… lol. What does he know? & I honestly thought the packaging was goooorgeous but, I'd have nowhere to put it either lol.

Those blue brows were super cool!! 😀 I'd love to see you do it again, maybe with different colors, too. & would you want a dark blue or a light blue for your hair??

        ❤ ❤ ❤

        1. Haha did he really say that? I think Alex might have said the same thing more or less, but I had to explain why it wasn’t so LOL
I’ve added a shelf next to my vanity and I would* have space for it now, but I don’t think I would use those shades much. I’ll just wait for the next palette. I’m also looking into other brands to buy later once I’m done reviewing the palettes I have left LOL I have a LOOOOT on my list I canot wait to narrow down the list ha
Yeah I totally wanna do several colored brows, I almost want to do it with wigs or hair dye haha
and honestly, don’t think I can do light blue I would need to lighten or bleach my hair, but that may not ever happen, lol. so probably dark blue like last time 🙂
