Unboxing My March 2020 Boxycharm

Heyy dolls!

What a month it has been, am I right? Crazy, crazy. So something new I did, as you’ve already seen by the title, is resubscribe to Boxycharm. And I did it all to get one little palette as you’ll see in a bit….! šŸ™‚

I ordered this box late in March and got it late last week, I’m barely getting around to taking photos of everything this week to show you all. I got my April box a few days later as well but that’s a post for another time. Let’s get started on this one. It’s been a while. ā¤ The theme for March was Pretty Edgy.

First Impressions

Super excited to have gotten a curling iron from Sutra Beauty! That was totally unexpected as I hadn’t seen the spoilers at all! I am so happy because back in 2018 I received a mini hair straightener for my first Boxyluxe, and 6 months later I received a mini hair dryer! I’m officially set for all my [future] travel needs! šŸ˜€

I am kind of glad I received a brow pencil, even if it is from KVD. I have two others I alternate between but it’s nice to try something new, now that KVD has been re-branded, or so I heard. Let’s hope it’s good.

I don’t know what to think of the Boxycharm palette. Their past palettes have not been that good, and the colors do look super pretty, but I cannot help but stare at it and feel like I might have a hard time creating looks because there are just SO MANY different colors of the shimmers compared to the mattes. I don’t know. I guess I will see once I get around to using this palette.

Next is the yogurt masque from Project Beauty. I haven’t done any hair masks for my hair and really really should. I tend to be cautious when it comes to hair products mainly because a lot of them weigh my hair down, but this seems pretty decent. Cannot wait to try it.

Lastly, tweezers from Chella. I’m not too familiar with the brand, I’ve passed up a few items from them in the past because I didn’t want or need them. This one however came at the perfect time. I was just about to replace my current tweezers.

BONUS / FREE ITEM

Now, the reason for resubscribing: the Ace Beaute Scarlet Dusk palette.

I mentioned it to many people that I really wanted the Vintage Dawn palette that was in some people’s boxes back in January. Unfortunately, I canceled my box subscription last September after getting my final Boxyluxe, so I didn’t get a chance to sub in time. Fortunately for me, I got an email telling me I could get this palette for FREE if I resubscribed so your girl jumped at the chance.

The reason I wanted this palette so badly besides the beautiful color story was because I absolutely loved the formula in their Grandiose palette. The formula was so mind-blowing I knew I needed to have more of their palettes! I actually plan on buying some with my own money in the future. ā¤

What do you think of it??

I’m so happy to have gotten two palettes in one go. I am hoping that these will give me a bit of inspiration to pick up my makeup brushes again. šŸ™‚

I will do my best to keep up with blogging in the upcoming week. I know I always say that, but I’m trying to take advantage of my good mood at the moment to write up a bunch lol. Stay tuned for my April box in a few days or next week. Love you all! ā¤

What do you guys think of this products??

  1. So happy to hear you’re feeling in a good mood Rossy, that’s the best!!!
That BoxyCharm palette looks fun, I know there are a lot of shimmers, but they might be good for more subtle, one colour looks if you get me? The shade ‘Full Size’ caught my attention straight away, and I love the Luxe shade too, that’s pretty.

So happy you were able to get your hands on the Scarlet Dusk palette, that Crimson shade is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what you create.

    Lots of love!

    1. hmmmm you’re right, i’ll be sure to try some of those shimmer shades as an all-over lid shadow and see how i like it that way šŸ™‚
Full Size is sooooooo preeetttyyyyy!!!! šŸ˜€ i cannot wait to use it šŸ™‚
Luxe is definitely a very pretty shade, golds are usually not my favorite, but every once in a while i come across some gorgeous ones šŸ™‚

  2. The two palettes are totally worth the box, especially the second one, it’s so pretty! You totally reminded me I need new tweezers, I normally use Tweezerman but let me know how the Chella ones are XD

    1. i’m so in love with the second palette, i cannot wait to play with it, hopefully soon, i have so many other palettes i need to work with and soon lol
yeah i have a tweezerman and love it too, i hope i like this one as much as the other one šŸ™‚

    1. i agree, it is so beautiful! and given that a previous palette of theirs was one of my favorites, i am highly optimistic that this one will be just as good šŸ™‚ and yes! i have so many palettes i need to review that i’ve barely touched and i have two more on the way (i know i’m terrible) but i am hoping that i can probably start creating lookbooks for two palettes in one single month so i can get through them quicker, because i have been neglecting some of my old ones that i miss but i also need to show some love to the ones i havent touched, such a weird dilemma haha but in short yes, any and all looks i create will be shared here šŸ™‚

  3. This month’s box was the last one I had received too! The only items we got in common were the KVD brow liner & the Chella tweezers (which worked so well for me!). I don’t think I’ll ever use the liner though! You’ll have to let me know how you like it if you try it. šŸ™‚ I’m super curious about the palette too. Every ipsy collab eyeshadow I’ve tried sucked so I wonder the quality of a Boxycharm brand item. Hair masks seem so interesting– please let me know how that works for you when you use it!

I’m sorry you didn’t get the Vintage Dawn palette but, the color story of the one you did get is just breathtaking. šŸ˜ & you’re right, the formula is awesome so totally worth it either way. Love that you got two palettes in one box & that you have the complete mini hair tools trio. Yay!! šŸ˜

    1. i cancelled mine after receiving my may box which wasn’t as exciting for me lol
i love the tweezers! they are amazing lol as for the brow pencil, i don’t like it!!!!!! firstly, the color of the pencil when i twisted it up was a much lighter color? which was odd and when i was trying to apply it, it felt so dry?? i literally have to rub it on the back of my hand to “warm” it up but even then its still too dry to apply it without pressing so much against my brows, ugh, it sucks lol, don’t use it!
i still haven’t gotten the chance to use the palette but i did swatch it and it seems decent. i hope i can use it soon.
i haven’t used the hair mask either bcause i have another one i’m trying to use up, which i will be using tonight and hopefully i only have two or three more uses left because i don’t need that much since my hair is so short. takes me forever to finish hair products now a days with shorter hair.
it’s okay! i think eventually i will splurge and get the other one too because their formula is just too good to pass up haha

      1. Aw, did you see any spoilers for June? I’m always curious what they include! & yay! I loved the tweezers, too. ā¤ So glad I got them because I was just needing a new one, too. ALSO, I drew a swatch on my wrist with the eyeliner pencil & was like… ??? it looked GREY & was SO dry LOL. Glad you had the same experience, honestly lol I thought I had left it unopened too long or something.

I am really scared to touch my hair right now lol I have not brushed it & it is a tangled & pretty sure, matted mess at the moment. šŸ˜¦ I may NEED some sort of hair mask to help me out lol…

Excited to see what you create with this palette & any that you decide to purchase, too!!

        1. i haven’t seen the spoilers at all for this month, i haven’t been on IG all week. i was in need of new tweezers so i’m glad i waited šŸ™‚
i’m wondering if its old?? because if its actually like that normally, scary! LOL i would never waste money on something that is so dry. i don’t think i’m gonna use it anymore, i dont want to bother with something, i’ve tried so many eyebrow pencils at this point that if they’re not creamy and easy to use i don’t want to use them at all lol

what is your hair type? i dont think ive ever asked.

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Ahh, yeah, maybe every single one they sent out in Boxys are old or something? Lol I would really hope so because I tried it again today & nothing even showed up. I drew a straight line on my plain skin under my eyebrow to see if it *was* showing up & I got this gray line that was easily wiped away with my finger LOL. NOT GOOD!!

Not sure what my hair type is… probably ANNOYING lol. I ended up washing it out & brushing SOME of it earlier, my head is sore now hahahah.

          2. yeah it totally sucked! i have noticed that boxycharm seems to be rolling out “old” products, which is something i think ipsy used to do, which is why i quit ipsy, but after quitting, ipsy stepped up their game and now i’m seeing that even though boxycharm pulls out all the stops with high end brands, it still doesn’t make up for products that don’t work for shit. so i might go back to ipsy for a while, but not right now obviously lol
haha how long does it take you to brush your hair?

            Liked by 1 person

          3. I agree about Ipsy! They definitely stepped up their game once they started making the bigger boxes. They are now always putting in *newer* Indie brands, which I LOVE & quite often, even high end brands, too!

I actually haven’t brushed my hair completely all the way through in awhile. I think it would take up to 2 hours hahaha.

          4. nice šŸ˜€ I would so much rather discover indie brands than get high end brands. I want to start supporting smaller business when it comes to beauty. the bigger brands already had their shot LOL
what really??? that long? insane! :O

            Liked by 1 person

          5. Same!! Indie brands are definitely what I hoped for when I got my beauty boxes. šŸ˜€ & yes, if I wanted my hair to be like silky smooth, no tangles or snags, it would definitely take about 2 hrs!

          6. That’s what I had been doing lol. Now I want to fix it and it’s been seriously terrible, I’ve been getting out knots for the past two days. šŸ˜¦
