I’m so excited to share another Sailor Moon Collection product review: the Daylight Lip Bundle! Thought it would be fitting to post this today since it’s Pink Wednesday.
Product Description from ColourPop Cosmetics:
Don’t be a crybaby! The Daylight Lip Bundle includes Moon Tiara Ultra Glossy Lip, a yellow orange gloss with gold and pink pinpoints, and Usagi Ultra Blotted Lip, a sheer mid-tone pink lip.
This item is limited edition. ©Naoko Takeuchi/PNP, Toei Animation.
Size: Ultra Glossy Lip 3.0g (0.11oz) / Ultra Blotted Lip 3.0g (0.10oz)
Price: $15.00 USD for the bundle, $8.00 USD each
The packaging is so cute! I can’t stop gushing about it! It has Usagi and Luna on the front of the cardboard packaging and the lippie tubes are transparent and have the classic Sailor Moon logo in gold letters.
I love the gold moons pattern against the pink wand applicator, it is the cutest! I love how they’re alternating between outlines and filled in moons. The tube packaging is very simple and still is very Colourpop, but with the perfect amount of change that it also screams ‘Sailor Moon’ to me.
Formula & Application / Swatches
Let’s do one at a time, starting with the Ultra Glossy Lip, Moon Tiara. This is an orangey-coral gloss and I love it. It’s the kind of shade I gravitate to the most for everyday wear. It has a pearlescent finish with subtle shimmer. Looks so good and shiny!
I love that this glossy lip is enriched with jojoba oil to moisturize and nourish, and it feels so good on my lips. I think it’s great that this can be applied lightly for a sheer color, or layered over and over until you reach your desired coverage. It can also be used over other lipsticks. I don’t believe I tried wearing over the Ultra Blotted Lip, which I’ll get to in a bit.
This glossy lip is so good. I have tried other glosses from Colourpop, such as the iluvsarahii x ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip, and it was good so I had high hopes for this one too. To my surprise, it felt slightly better? It’s non-sticky and very high-shine and makes my lips fuller with no need to use a lip plumper. The only con is that it doesn’t last long on me, so it requires re-application after a few hours.

Next is the Ultra Blotted Lip, Usagi. It is a bright, medium-pink shade with a blotted/matte finish. It has medium coverage and this is not one of those lipsticks that can be built up, in fact, I do not recommend it as it becomes thick and uncomfortable to wear. I had a hard time figuring out how much to apply to make it look good until I finally looked it up. A thin layer is best when using this formula for a flawless look.
The blotted/matte finish gives my lips a soft, diffused, almost tinted look to my lips. The product dries down quicker than I’m used to, probably due to applying a thin layer. Once dry, the product feels slightly powdery and matte, as weird as it sounds, but still is very comfortable, I can barely feel it. It lasted several hours on me with no fading.
It so absolutely great, transfer-proof and long-wearing, lightweight and comfortable. There is no cracking or flaking but you might experience that if your lips are dry, so I recommend a lip scrub prior to application. Though I didn’t try it, you can also line your lips with a similar lip liner to create fuller lips.
I loved this lip bundle, and I cannot chose which is my favorite out of the two. They were each so good on their own. I have worn the gloss so many times, and I’m wearing the blotted lip as I write this. So so comfortable! That’s all I have for you today, a relatively short review. Stay tuned for more content coming up this week and next. 🙂
