LOOKBOOK — 5 Looks feat. BH Cosmetics Summer in St. Tropez

Hi dolls!

Back with another lookbook! I have two more planned so prepare yourself to see them weekly or bi-weekly depending on the content I’m putting out.

I normally try to do more than 5 looks when using big palettes like these (16+ shades), but I couldn’t make it happen this time around. To be honest, I really want to try and use two more palettes before summer ends with the minimum of five (5) looks. That will give me time to try more palettes and I can always go back and create more looks with each palette later. 🙂

Here is the palette I am using for this lookbook:

As you all know, I love naming my looks and you guys really loved the fun facts I shared in my Beautycounter Lookbook, so I will be doing that again today! Okay, let’s get started and let me show you the looks I came up with using this Summer in St. Tropez palette from BH Cosmetics.

Look #1: Cosmic Dust

This is one of my favorite looks, I couldn’t resist wearing my “galaxy” print dress that my hubby gifted me a few years ago for my birthday.

Shades Used:
Bay, Pampellonne, Night Life, Jet Set, Sizzle,
Crepe, Villa, Intoxicating, Marina

FUN FACT: Galaxies and nebulae are not the same, even though people use the terms interchangeably. A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system and there are four types: elliptical, spiral, barred spiral, and irregular. A nebula is an interstellar cloud of dust, gases and basic elements; it acts as a nursery for new stars.

Look #2: Sunset Over Water

I’ve done so many sunset looks by now, they’re so fun to make.

Shades Used:
Intoxicating, Crepe, Villa, Sizzle, Pampellonne, Exotic

DID YOU KNOW? Scattering is a phenomenon that helps explain colors of the sunset. When the sun is low on the horizon at sunset/sunrise, sunlight passes through more air. More atmosphere means more molecules scatter the violet and blue light away from your eyes, letting the other colors pass through. Red has the longest wavelength, hence why sunsets are often yellow, orange, and red.

Look #3: Blue-Berry Ombre

I wasn’t sure what to name this look at first, but it turned into a cross of the shade Bay (a deep matte blue) and Night Life (a berry matte), so that was it. If you look closely at my close-up, you can see the colors blended together in the middle and it almost looks like “blueberry”. But since I did not blend the colors together completely, it’s ombre. Make sense?

Shades Used:
Bay, Pampellonne, Night Life, Sizzle, Coastline, Villa, Beachclub

DID YOU KNOW? Blueberries are low in calories but high in nutrients and are king of antioxidant foods. They also reduce DNA damage which may help protect against aging and cancer.

Look #4: Belize Blue

I named this look after the Great Blue Hole in Belize because the colors reminded me of it. I just want to say how great the shimmers are in this palette, they are so reflective and pretty.

FUN FACTS: The Great Blue Hole in Belize is easily recognizable from space, its shape is almost a perfect circle, and it is the largest sea hole in the world. Geologists have said that it was formed at the end of the last Ice Age when rising seawaters completely submerged the enormous caves approximately 15,000 years ago.

Look #5: Glinting Rouge

I’ve been having so much fun playing with red shades lately. And more so after finding out years ago that as someone with warm toned skin, wearing red looks best on me. Not sure if I can say the same for makeup, but let’s pretend, yes? 🙂

Shades Used:
Jet Set, Villa, Marina, Beachclub

FUN FACTS ABOUT THE COLOR RED: Red has the longest wavelength in the visual spectrum. It is associated with power, love, energy, and danger. It is the color of good luck and wealth in China. It is used to ward off evil spirits and witches in several countries.

I was so excited to use this palette and really love the looks I created. I did create a few more I wasn’t pleased with that didn’t make the cut, but perhaps I will share those looks with you another time 🙂

Now that I’ve used this palette a bit, I can move on to the next one and hopefully I can bring you another lookbook next week! 🙂

Hope you’re having a great day!
And if no one has told you yet, you are loved! 🙂 ❤ xx

  1. All of the looks you created are beautiful, the first three especially! BH Cosmetics shadows are good quality, I really enjoy The Remix Palette they created in collaboration with Shaaanxo 🙂
