So good to be back!
We are literally doing a flashback Friday and a fashion Friday all in one post! 🙂 So let’s do a quick flashback to June of last year. That’s right, we are doing a summer fashion post in the middle of winter!
It’s hilarious how behind I am on posts, but honestly I’m here for it! Even though I wasn’t posting much last year, I still took so many photos of things I knew I eventually wanted to share, and I don’t want to shy away from it just because it was 6 months ago. I promise we will get back on track at some point 😉
Anyway, it is no secret that I’m huge fan of anime. My ever-growing collection of anime t-shirts is a clear sign of it, but I just realized I’ve never shared that part of me here. We can delve into that collection another time if you’re interested, might just share that in my other blog, but anyway, I digress..
Fruits Basket OOTD
I’ve never cosplayed, but this cute dress definitely made me feel a little bit of what that might be like. And I loved it! I will* cosplay at least once in my life! I took photos in this dress back in April but I didn’t like how any of them turned out, due to lighting issues. So we set out to try again on a random day when I was wearing it, in June. The sun was out and it was golden hour, so I took advantage and I loved the outcome. Shout out to my hubby for putting up with me.
Fruits Basket is one of my favorite anime/manga. My brother introduced me to the original anime from 2001, and I fell in love with the story. I ended up reading the whole manga in a matter of weeks. So imagine how thrilled I was that it was being remade in 2019! *cue happy tears* ( T o T )
My little heart could not stand it when I saw that Hot Topic was dropping FB merch and Funko pops! (another little collection of mine..). I do have a pair of FB leggings that I bought along with this dress, but they’re a little bit too long (short people problems), so I think I’ll just lounge in them instead. This dress, however, fit me nicely. I was glad I had a white crop top to complete this ootd.
I think what I love most about this dress, or I guess suspender skirt, is the style. It’s not a full dress, so it’s not super loud or out there for me. The suspenders are comfortable, and best of all, POCKETS! My heart is full, seriously! I do also love the skater skirt style of it, so it compliments my body shape a bit. The color is also a bit different than what I normally wear, but I love pastels and this is a nice shade that still looks good against my skin tone.
I had so much fun in our little impromptu photoshoot.
I cannot wait to do more ootd posts because I love to dress up!
