Product Empties — January to March 2022

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Normally I’d post on a Monday but yesterday was Labor Day and we were busy getting everything ready for today as it’s my sons first day back to school. It was bittersweet seeing him get on the bus again because that means I’m home alone until he and his dad come back home later in the day. He is in second grade now, I can barely believe it! Summer is officially over.

Today I have another empties post. I’m still catching up but at least we finally moved onto 2022! Just a few more and we will have caught up completely to the most recent one. Let’s get started.

Haircare / Bath & Body:

Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy Dry Shampoo — have repurchased this many times and I still like it because it gives my hair a bit of volume, but other than that, I’ve noticed the formula has changed a bit, so I am on the hunt for another just in case.

Cowshed Cow Herb Restoring Hand Cream — I think I empty these every three months or so because I don’t use them often enough, but they’re so good. A cousin of mine gave them to me so I have no idea where to buy them if I wanted them.

Tree Hut Vitamin C Shea Sugar Scrub — this was more runny than I would like, I prefer scrubs to be more solid than this. It was still fairly decent and it did it’s job though. For how runny it was I would not really repurchase.

BOHO Vegan Cosmetics Pillow Fight Whipped Body Butter — such a great product, it melts into the skin so perfectly and the scent just takes me away! I always used this at bedtime and it made me feel super relaxed and my skin felt soft and moisturized!

My Beauty Spot Mint & Eucalyptus Scented Body Wash Gel — this smelled amazing! the gel lathered up so well with a small amount, I was able to get my whole body. Wish I could find a bigger size but being a holiday item, that’s doutbful.

Sparkling Rose Sweet & Shimmer Body Lotion — this was one of those products I got during a holiday sale, didn’t care much for the scent and it also required a lot of product to moisturize my skin so I won’t be repurchasing if I see it this year at Ulta.

Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Fragrance Mist — really liked this mist, was a gift from a friend and it was a very sultry kind of mist. It’s too bad they’re not CF otherwise I’d buy this for myself.

My Beauty Spot Mint & Eucalyptus Scented Body Moisturizer — another holiday item that came with the body gel of the same name. It smelled pretty great, and surprisingly hydrating.

Shugar Soapworks Oatmeal + Coconut Plant Based Scented Soap — I loved this bar soap so much! It was incredibly soft and hydrating and I loved that it is plant based. For the life of me I cannot remember where I got this from, but I hope I find it again.

Skincare

Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose Petal Facial Toner — I’ve repurchased this many times because it is alcohol-free so it doesn’t dry my skin, it hydrates it! I’ve been wanting to find another to rotate it out but I still want to have this handy when I’m using AHA/BHA and retinols.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum — I loved this product so much! I have not been disappointed by Farmacy yet, every single product hits the mark for me and this one was no different. It was such a gentle exfoliant and it also hydrated my skin at the same time. No irritation whatsoever.

Oh K! Illuminating Serum — this is the mini version of their Chok Chok Illuminating Serum which I highly recommend. So so good, hydrating, smooth, and it really does brighten the skin a bit and gives it a nice little glow.

Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser — this  was such a gentle cleanser, I loved that it was pH balanced. Aside from that, I didn’t really notice a huge difference using this product versus a more affordable one like e.l.f., so I don’t really see myself buying this product. It was nice to try it though.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration Face Cream — hands  down one of my favorites, I actually already did a review of the skincare mini kit this cream came in, so I definitely recommend you check it out for yourself. I may end up buying the full size when I run out of all the other moisturizers I have.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration Eye Cream — such a good eye cream and great for those on a budget. I could not believe how hydrating this eye cream was compared to other expensive ones. You don’t need to break your bank to get good skincare but I’ll let you be the judge.

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask — this little product was great at first, but I noticed that it dried up too fast and it no longer was the same so I had to toss it. I don’t know if it’s due to the ingredients, but it didn’t feel as smooth as my other eye creams. I might have to try it again someday because it seemed like it has potential.

Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Organic Lip Balm — my favorite lip balm ever! I consistently repurchase because I don’t need to use it over and over again when my lips are chapped. It lasts a while to keep my lips hydrated.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Rose Lip Exfoliator — I liked this at first and I wanted to keep liking it, however, the fact that it is a stick and a bit dry did little to melt on my lips when they needed exfoliating. I felt like I had to press really hard which in turn made my lips hurt a lot too. Not the ideal packaging, but I liked the effort.

Makeup

Essence Cosmetics Make Me Brow Eyebrow Mascara — one of my favorites to set my eyebrows. I haven’t repurchased because I haven’t had the chance to go find it or order it online, but this one is a staple (and always a must) in my makeup kit.

Colourpop Brow Boss in Dark Brown — I liked this eyebrow pencil but just recently started noticing how they seem a bit drier than my NYX one (a fave). I have one more that I’m currently using but I don’t think I will be repurchasing once I’m out. Lately my eyebrows have looked a bit muddy while using these and I don’t like it.

Morphe Micro Brow Pencil in Latte — I didn’t care much for it. Even though they have lots of shades and undertones to choose from, the pencil was a bit dry and I needed to apply more pressure than normal for it to show any pigment, so in reality, not as precise. It also made my eyebrows look muddy.

Kokie Precision Brow in Warm Brown — Just like the Morphe one, I remember not caring much for this one. Even less as the brand only has four shades and it’s also hard to figure out the undertones. The pencil itself was creamy and precise but this shade was just to reddish for me. No spoolie on this one which is a big deal to me, so I will not repurchase.

NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate — As mentioned, it’s my favorite drugstore brow pencil, but the wrong shade. I have now found my perfect shade!

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint — I had this lying around unopened from a previous sub box but I didn’t care much for it. It was great for a natural lash look, but it didn’t really do much for my lashes, sadly. Truth be told, I’m extremely picky when it comes to mascaras.

That is all for today! I will be posting more beauty content from here on out, Monday’s and Friday’s, and once a week on Wednesday’s for my life blog, AyR Intake, so be sure to keep a lookout for my posts in your feed! 🙂
