Pride Month Rainbow MOTD

Hii dolls!

I know I am late with a #pridemonth look, but this month has been pretty powerful in more ways than one. I wanted to really stop for a while, listen, educate myself and learn more about the BLM movement. There is still a long way to go, and I will not stop talking about it.

That aside, June is such an important month for the LGBT community. One of my best friends who passed away from cancer a few years ago, was gay. His presence was everything to me. He was a nice person, much nicer than I was, so understanding, loving and caring towards everyone in his life. I was grateful to have him as a friend. I miss him. ❀

We are on times where the world is opening up more and allowing people to be themselves. I think the world is also a bit more accepting now than even 10 years ago, some people are still needing to come around, and in other parts of the word that is not the case at all. So Pride Month is a time to celebrate and be proud, not ashamed. We are aiming towards equality for all at the present time, and the LGBT community has had a hard time feeling accepted. I think it’s beautiful that we have an entire month to celebrate them, and this is yet another movement I truly accept and support!

Two Things I Learned

#1: LGBT Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, Pride events are held in June to recognize the impactΒ LGBT people have had in the world. This uprising launched a new era of resistance and revolution. They fought back against the laws that were oppressing them, rather then accepting them as they are.

#2: Marsha P. Johnson, a black transgender woman, was a central figure in the gay liberation movement. She was known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights.

3 Lessons to Learn from the Stonewall Riots

  1. Change is possible when people speak up.
  2. Sometimes movements take time to catch on, and that’s okay.
  3. There’s power in organized groups.

I had a bit of trouble with the purple shade fading and not sticking, as you can see. As much as I tried to fix it, it just wouldn’t work. I am hoping it’s the base I used on my eyelid. I do have different bases, so I will experiment some more before I write my full review. Perhaps I can recreate the eye looks separately to make sure.

    1. Aw thanks Jennie. I think you’re an amazing human being as well ❀
Thank you! I do sometimes wish he was still here to see my cousin's son growing up and to see that the world is opening up more and more. He was really full of life. He opened my eyes to many things and for that I am really grateful to have met him.

      1. Yes, when I weighed both my fear and my freedom , freedom tasted sweeter than feeling caged and scared. So I did come out and I was supported by my family which was the ultimate happiness. And yeah, my friends of course were always by my side β™₯️

  2. Thank you for this. I know the LGBTQIA++ movement in America doesn’t directly affect us in Malaysia but it definitely creates a ripple effect that somehow slowly helps the rest of the world change too…
