Wet n Wild Coloricon Rose in the Air Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

Happy Friday dolls!

It seems that lately I’ve been doing things last minute around here. Like last week, that lookbook was last minute only because I thought it was fitting to do it that way. And here I am, once again, doing a whole post within hours, lol.

I decided to do this review separately (I got another upcoming post to go with this) because I had taken lots of photos of this palette with swatches and I didn’t want them to go to waste. So here we are. I may make this one a quick review.

Product Description from Wet n Wild:

Powerfully pigmented, buttery-soft, glides on like a dream. That’s what we dreamed up with our reformulated Color Icon eyeshadows. Our reformulated Color Icon hues come in a mix of coveted colors, from shimmery daytime hues to sultry shades for cocktail hours—including new matte transitional shades for impeccable blending.

Size: 0.35oz / 10.0g
Price: $5.49 (will sometimes be on sale for $4.99)

Packaging / Formula & Application

So the packaging is plastic which for drugstore, I don’t mind. It’s nice and small so it would be great for travel. I also love that the packaging allows you to see all the shades, so if you happen to have several of these palettes, you’d find it easily. In the back, the shades are numbered.

In terms of formula and application, I literally have nothing bad to say about these shades. Some of them do have slight kickback and fallout, but for the price I really can’t say it’s a con. This was actually my first palette ever from WnW, I would usually go for lipsticks and face makeup, so to try this palette for the first time, I was blown away! They are so soft and velvety smooth, they blend like a dream!

Swatches

I am not doing a shade breakdown because the palette is amazing throughout. It’s very consistent and the shades are just phenomenal all around. I really have no complaints.

Pros & Cons:

Pros:

  • Consistent formula throughout
  • Velvety smooth
  • Shades blend well
  • Very pigmented
  • Affordable
  • Perfect for day to night
  • Dupe for ABH Modern Renaissance
  • Perfect size for travel

Cons:

  • None!

I did have looks for this palette review but they are in videos and I forgot to take photos for some strange reason, so I apologize! Maybe in the future I will do a full lookbook for the hell of it.

Loved this palette and wish I could pick up some more. Wet n Wild has been blowing me away with their products’ quality and formula! Insane!

Do you guys have any WnW palettes?
If not, what do you own from this brand?

  1. You’re right, this is a totally amazing palette! Not sure how Wet n’ Wild does it. I love how this palette has the most mattes of any of their other Color Icon Palettes too (last time I checked). I was blown away too when I used it!

    1. Oh I didn’t know this one had more mattes than the rest of these palettes, I guess I picked the right one then cause I prefer more mattes than shimmers in my palettes lol.
But yeah, this one was amazing!

    1. Some people might say WnW is also hit and miss. For me it’s been mostly hits lol. And we have MUR here too, it kind of exploded after they released that concealer. I find it a bit more pricey than WnW, but I havent tried much except that palette I review a few weeks back. So bad. I hated it. Not a good first impression of the brand perhaps I chose the wrong thing lol

  2. I love this palette too! I’m going to keep using mine, I bought it way before I knew about all the WNW drama. I’m glad you liked the palette as well, the formula is so good for $5!

    1. It is! It’s a dupe for the ABH Modern Renaissance, which I really wanted but is WAAAY out of my price range. LOL
And I love this palette because you can make every day looks and smoky eyes 🙂

        1. Totally! 😀
Some people hate the ‘dupes’ and call them ‘not original’ or ‘not creative’ but I think when it’s done right, it’s fine! I have tried a few dupes that SUCK!

    1. It is! Someone told me this palette also has the most mattes out of their Coloricon palettes (from what they’ve seen).
They really are, the formula is insane for the price.
