One Brand Focus & Review — Oh K!

Hello dolls!

I have missed you all. I am truly sorry for being away for so long. I know I always say that, but it has been a very weird year for everyone and a bit stressful. I know I am also behind on reading blogs but because I know I have missed an insane amount, I think I will only be catching up on this month’s posts and go on a liking spread for the rest to at least show support to your hard work as well. I hope that’s okay! 😦

Anyway, I have been super excited to share this brand with you ever since I found it sometime last year through Ulta and when I got my stuff in the mail, I could not stop gushing over how cute the packaging was. It wasn’t until a few weeks into trying one of these products that I got hooked and wanted to try more from them. Now that I’ve used pretty much all the things I bought, I thought I could give you guys some mini reviews and focus on this super awesome brand: Oh K!

About Oh K!

Oh K! was established in 2014 before K-Beauty started making waves in the west. They partnered up with their R&D team in Seoul, South Korea and developed their first collection of solution and lifestyle driven masks. Lead with Korean innovation but developed firmly by themselves, their collection quickly expanded to full regimes.

Oh K! seeks out new experiences and sensations, creates opportunities for calm or play and products that spark joy and curiosity. Their focus is always on solutions, launching products that they feel good about.

Their skincare and masks are born from and rooted in K-Beauty philosophies and innovation. They move their eye across the globe in their quest for high-performing products that deliver the best on wellbeauty experiences.

Oh K! is against animal cruelty, according to their site.

As I said, I whole-heartedly believe in and love this brand. I have not been able to fully confirm if they are cruelty-free besides what they have on their site. I am seriously hoping they are, otherwise I will make a post about it in the future. That said, let’s get on with the mini reviews.

Chok Chok Illuminating Serum

This was the product that caught my eye and I put it on my cart so quickly and looked through the rest of the stuff that was at the time, available on Ulta. By now they have added more of their products, so I suggest you take a look.

ohk_chokchok_illuminating_serum

A super serum packed full of skincare goodness to hydrate, illuminate and enhance the skin’s natural glow. Niacinamide helps to even and improve the appearance of skin tone while moisture magnet Hyaluronic Acid helps skin retain moisture and appear plumped. Its lightweight texture helps build layers of hydration for the ultimate dewy finish.

SUITABLE FOR VEGANS

Size: 30mL
Price: $15.00 USD

The serum was amazing and I did see a change in my skin in how it felt and looked after continued use. It did such an amazing job at making my skin feel hydrated, my complexion did brighten up and my skin just looked good. It was the first product I’ve ever tried with Niacinamide and I think my skin really liked it. My skin retained its moisture without the oilyness. It was easy to use and was lightweight, it absorbed quickly, and had no problems with layering or piling. I was able to use this product in both warm and colder months.

I also want to mention that I love that it came in a glass bottle with a dropper. I was really sad when I finished it because it was one of my favorite products in my routine. I am trying other stuff at the moment but this will be a product that I will re-purchase.

Acai Berry Sheet Mask

Brighten your skin with a blend of superfood berries. A superfood hero native to South America, Açai Berry is an anti-aging powerhouse ingredient, rich in Vitamins which help to protect and hydrate the skin. This fruity super hydrating sheet mask packs a punch with added extracts of Blackberry packed full of Vitamin C.

Price: $3.00 USD

This mask was so good! Even though it felt super wet coming out of the foil packet, it stayed on my face without slipping. I liked the fit even though it felt a little big. The mask itself felt cooling, and it had this amazing fruity fragrance which many will not like, but it was fairly subtle so I didn’t mind it. The mask was nourishing and rejuvenating and it can be used daily to lock in moisture.

I prefer to use masks in the winter to keep my skin from drying out due to the cold, but using this mask in the spring was really nice too. I did not experience any burning or irritation, and the mask felt cooler the longer I wore it. I literally have no complaints about this mask. It was just too good.

Chok Chok Smoothing Under Eye Mask

These iridescent gel patches do much more than just shimmer and look pretty. Perfectly shaped to gently cling to the skin, effectively delivering skin-loving goodness to the delicate under eye area. Formulated with brightening powerhouse ingredients Vitamin C and Niacinamide. Hyaluronic Acid and Chamomile Extract hydrate and soothe the skin.

Price: $5.00 USD

This was the last product I used and also one I bought separate from the other two. After trying the other products, I was very much looking forward to trying different things from this brand.

I have a complaint about the packaging. The eye patches were inside this foil packet, but also encased between two plastic pieces that opened up like a book. They had two more plastic films on each side of the eye patch, which really seemed wasteful. I don’t know if that’s to keep them intact or to protect them, but it seemed a bit unnecessary.

As for the eye patches, whoa!!! They felt cooling upon applying to my eyes, and they did not slip!!! I wore them around the house while cleaning up and getting ready and they did not move at all! I also love the look of them, they were a bit iridescent which was gorgeous, just could not get a clean, bright shot of me wearing them. My under eyes felt amazing after I took them off. I want to buy these again, but I hope they become more mindful about packaging in the future.

I thoroughly loved each and every product here, I honestly cannot wait to try more. It’s a very affordable brand, their prices seem very reasonable to me, and you know your girl is always about saving. I truly hope they are confirmed CF by Logical Harmony or Cruelty-Free Kitty soon because I will be severely disappointed if they are not!

  2. Oh how exciting, they sell this brand (or atleast I think I’ve seen the face masks lol) in the store in which I work so once we’re out of lockdown 2 you can be sure I’m going to purchase these products, I just hope I’m right and we do actually sell them haha anyway, these all sound fab, the serum sounds great and the mask sounds dreamy, I love the sound of the scent too. I’m so intrigued by these eye masks, they sound really beneficial and feel good so I will for sure be purchasing these too also how good are the prices? Amazing. So excited to try these products, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Rossy and recommending this brand as I’m super excited to try it out. Also perfect photos as ever, you are so talented! xxx

      1. I’m sure I’ve seen those face masks as I recognised your picture straight away, so hopefully they do more from the brand too! I would love to try the eye patches because it’s not like anything I’ve ever tried before and these ones sound good! Ah I can’t wait to read part 2 of this post and see what you try 😍😍

        1. Someone from the UK commented they loved this brand, so now I am positive they have it there 😀😀

The eye patches were really hydrating and they didn’t slide off the way others do when you move around too much, and that made me like them even more because your girl has no time to sit around lol. I have picked out a few products again but I have yet to make my order Haha

  3. The sounds of they serum, oh my goodness, sounds like heaven in a bottle!! I feel like I learn so much from reading your reviews, like I had no idea what niacinamide or that it was even an ingredient but I feel like my skin could totally use some!! Especially now that its getting cold and even more dry than usual I could use all the moisture!! I definitely want to check it out, do you know if they have it in like a smaller/tester/travel version? The under eye mask! I’ve been looking for one, I definitely need to hit up ulta! thank you for sharing as always ❤ ❤

    1. the serum is definitely a good one and my favorite 🙂 i need to repurchase but not until i’ve tried more of their products to really lock down my top picks haha
yeah i’m new to some of these ingredients, but niacinamide is one that i will be looking for in some products as well as hyaluronic acid, both are great for hydrating the skin 🙂
as far as i know, i have not seen any travel sized products at all, which is a bummer because they totally should do that! especially for the holidays, like a holiday mini gift set of some sort, that would be lovely 🙂
yes ulta has a lot more of their products now and i am hoping they add a few more, but if you go to their website, they have a LOT more lol

    1. The packaging definitely drew me in and i had to look to see if they were CF, it says they are but haven’t been able to confirm with LH or CFK. Either way, the serum is by far one of my favorite I’ve ever tried

      1. It must be so difficult for someone like LH to keep up with all the different brands, and doing all the research. Perhaps she does her investigations based on requests from readers?
