Wow, I am so behind on basically everything! No surprise, am I right?
I seem to be absent more often. I’m sorry.
Trust me, I’m trying so hard to prioritize what content to put out first. I’ve also been busy with other stuff and I only have night time to edit anything and everything and well… I do need sleep too. My bad habits are catching up to me again (i.e. 5 hrs of sleep each night, no bueno!).
Anyway, let’s catch up on products I’ve used up in April. Better late than never! I’m so stoked because there were lots of products. I usually don’t empty this many in one single month!
Have I bored you with my videos yet??
Hair / Bath & Body
- Hemp Moisturizing Pure Goodness Shampoo
- Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo (unscented)
- Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray
- Yardley London English Lavender Bath Bar
- Victoria’s Secret Cherry Blossom & Peach Fragrance Mist
I do not recommend the Hemp shampoo. It didn’t lather nicely, I had to wash my hair twice with it, and I know washing your hair that much strips your hair from its natural oils, causing it to become more oily and your girl doesn’t need that! I confused this brand with the Hempz one, not the same thing! HUGE let down!
The NYM products are some of my favorite hair products. The dry shampoo works well for me and the texturizing spray makes it effortless to style my hair and be out the door in less than 5 mins. It also enhances my waves so that’s a BONUS!
The Yardley bath bar was found at dollar store, and I liked it. It’s paraben, sulfate AND cruelty free. It lathers up nicely and I also loved how subtle the scent of lavender was.
Finally, the VS Love Spell fragrance mist. This cherry blossom & peach one has been my favorite, I haven’t found another one that I like more from VS and I typically don’t buy these myself, they are gifted to me. I do however recommend it if you’re into floral and fruity scents.
Skincare & Makeup
- Tony Moly The Hayan Cherry Blossom Brightening Essence
- Belif The True Cream – Aqua Bomb
- Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb
- VIICode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream
- Real Techniques Complexion Sponge
- Wet n Wild Shutter Shock Eyelashes
- Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
- Benefit Gimme Brow Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in 5
- Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil in 4
Loved the TM essence, one of my favorites but I think it got discontinued.
Belif has great products; I used both the aqua and eye bomb during winter and they hydrated my skin beautifully! The aqua bomb can be used all year long, I previously tried it during the summer and it held up nicely. The eye bomb rescued my dry eyelids during the winter. So grateful!
VIICode eye cream is expensive but I saw results within one week which was mind blowing. I still have a full review on the blog.
The RT sponge is my absolute favorite! I wouldn’t trade it for the beauty blender because this one is more affordable and it needs to be replaced every 3 to 6 months anyway.
Th WnW lashes are the perfect combination of dramatic, fluttery, and natural. They’re some of my favorite drugstore falsies and the eyelash glue that comes with it works great!
I’m not sure if I like the Marc Jacobs mascara because I didn’t see its full potential until the 3 month mark which is close to its expiry date. Most mascaras suck to me, and I don’t have long, curly lashes. Finding my perfect mascara has been difficult but I have a ton more to go through so wish me luck!
Lastly, the Benefit Gimme Brow and the Precisely, My Brow Pencil (full review) have been the best combo ever! I love the fine tip of the brow pencil, even though it wasn’t my shade. All the Gimme Brow was good for, was to cancel out the reddish tones on the pencil. I didn’t find it to be a staple so I can live without it.
I’ve emptied a total of 14 products this month so I’m super proud of myself! It feels so good to be making a dent on my stash! I think my method of sticking to certain products each month is paying off 🙂
Wish me luck for this month as well, so far I only have one product.
How are you guys doing on your empties lately??

Wow, well done!

Ah I need to try the real techniques sponge. I’m more a brush gal really so I don’t want to spend loads on a beauty blender x
LikeLiked by 1 person
I love it! I haven’t tried using brushes because I haven’t had any good face brushes to use or I didn’t like how the formula of the foundations sat on my skin, so it was always one or the other. I might have to find a brush and try it thought because it does seem like a lot of people prefer brushes too 🙂

Lol trust me this was lucky! It takes me ages to finish things up because comparing all of these to what’s happening now….I only have one empty so far and its mid may already haha

Belif products are amazing, aren’t they?

Great job finishing up so many products! I’ve tried the Belif Aqua Bomb but I would love to try the eye cream!
I’ll need to try out WNW’s faslies, I’ve been looking for a new affordable lash brand to try. I don’t mind my ardell lashes but they do tend to look a little plasticky lol

It’s so good and very hydrating! I loved it! In hing sight, I would have loved to keep it for the summer time because it felt lightweight.
You must! And if you don’t like them, you won’t be out much money! Idk if they’re reusable, but I can use them up to 3 to 5 times each which is nice. I also really like the glue that comes with it, I liked it better than the one that comes with the e.l.f. lash kit, but I’m also curious to try other lash glues to see the difference and wear.
Good to know about Ardell lashes, those are a bit pricier. I do want to try the magnetic ones.

I’ll have to wait for the next Sephora sale to get the aqua bomb lol
Yes that’s true, WNW is so affordable that I don’t mind spending money on their products. I never wear false lashes out of the house, so I actually have no idea how any of my lash glues wear. I literally just use them to take makeup pictures then I take them right off. I hate the feeling of the weight on my eyes.

I think I saw you posted a vid of a sephora haul, I haven’t watched it or read it (if you have a post) yet. Can’t wait to see what you got!
Yes, I could buy so many WnW products and still be okay with buying them if I don’t like them. Ah yeah that makes sense, I started wearing them for hours even at home just to see if the way I’m applying them is right because at first they wouldn’t stay I’m getting the hang of it.
I didn’t like the weight of them either, and I haven’t tried my high end ones yet, but I have tried the WnW and the elf (natural lash kit) and they felt pretty weightless. After a while I didn’t notice them, unless I was wearing glasses LOL

I didn’t do a blog post here, I only got three things so it didn’t seem too exciting lol.
I really need to repurchase my WNW brow pencil, I only have a tiny bit of my current pencil left and I don’t want to run out!
Practice makes perfect!
Oh no, I wear glasses every day! But they sound like they’d be good to wear when filming since I don’t wear glasses on YouTube as often.

Oh okay yeah that makes sense.
I’m still not sure if I like the WnW brow pencil, like it’s good but the fact that it’s not retaining its shape was very concerning because now I can’t draw thin, hairlike strokes. LOL. Shame really. But I have the Colourpop as backup just in case.. Or I might have to pick up the NYX one if I don’t like either one. LOL

aww really? Darn I really liked it! I’m sorry it’s not working for you as well 😦
I need to repurchase all of my brow products because I just went platinum blonde, now my eyebrows don’t match me!

That’s alright. It wasnt super expensive so it’s all good. And I saw you had mentioned that on one of your IG posts, cant wait to see your new hair. I’m thinking about going a little shorter and dyeing my hair a fun color. Well see.

Yes!! I have a hair post going up tomorrow. I love it 🙂
That could be fun! And shorter hair is always great for summer. Less hassle too!

Oh oh oh!!! I literally just heard yesterday that WnW is no longer considered CF! Apparently this was news from like a week ago and I am barely just finding out. I’m absolutely GUTTED! 😭😭 I even filmed a video where I do a full face of wnw, I’ll have to edit that right away and just post it and be done with it lol

I HEARD THAT TOO!! Shocking right!? It’s a shame because I really love their color icon palettes and even though I don’t only buy CF products I feel like the shadiness is enough to lose my business 😦
I hope you have other brands you can turn to with the same quality & prices!

I was loving so MANY of their products, I actually thought a few would replace some others in my collection oh well.
And well there’s still elf and nyx which happen to be other faves, I’ve tried a few things from essence which I liked so I’ll have those options too AND covergirl which took a leap

I’ve been meaning to try more from NYX this year, so now that I’m not buying WNW I’ll have to see what they have available. And elf is always good!

I recommend NYX ALWAYS! They have one of my favorite liquid liners, and the lippies are of course amazing. I also really like their Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation for the summer. I would love to try their brow products and their liquid foundations.

They’re definitely on my list of brands to shop! I want to try their eyeshadows 😊

I have NOT tried any of their eyeshadows, weirdly enough, I feel like I’ve always gravitated towards their lip products (all fab in my opinion) and their liquid liners.

I wish they weren’t just online, I would definitely try them out if they were more accessible!

Over here they do have some palettes in store, I guess depends where you go. But now that I think about it, I have used like three pressed pigments from them, they were alright. Would love to get my hands on an actual palette though.

wait, I think I’m crazy. We DO have NYX palettes in store, I think I just got confused about which comment thread this was. oops!

Victorias Secret scents are some of my favourites, the cherry and peach sounds like it would smell yummy! I am totally intrigued by the ViiCode eye cream, I am definitely going to check out your review because honestly I never feel like I gain anything from an eye cream? So I’d love to read your thoughts on it and all about why it is so good! It’s a shame about the Marc Jacobs mascara 😦 I’ve only tried one makeup product by his brand, an eyeliner which is good but, I wouldn’t say it stands out to be amazing and a must purchase if that makes sense! I’d like to try more of his stuff though. What was it about the mascara you weren’t such a fan of? And what mascara are you going to try next? If you want recommendations for lifting and curling lash mascaras I’d recommene L’Oreals Feline mascara (basically a dupe of Benefits Roller Lash but better in my opinion), or the Roller Lash of course. I just find the Feline to be a little more volumising!
14 products is great Rossy! Well done! I should probably make a start on using up some things, also, especially before buying any more!

Girl it is! You should at least sniff it and tell me if you feel the same haha
It’s pricey but yes it works! I feel the same about other eye creams, they’re good at hydrating but it takes such a long time to actually see any difference… well that and my sleep schedule is terrible LOL
omg did I not include why I didn’t like it much? I’ll have to edit this post haha, but basically it did nothing for my lashes. it gave me volume initially but after a while it didn’t look like much and curling my lashes didn’t make a difference either..
Having a project pan and/or just strictly using products that are about to expire has been so eye opening. I don’t need this many products. lol.

I totally thought that shampoo was the Hempz brand before you pointed it out that they were different! Wow, how similar are their names… I woulda got mixed up, too. 😛 & I’m pretty sure we’ve talked about it before but I am so with you on the RT sponge. It’s much better than the BB, in every way!
Good luck on finding that perfect mascara for you. ♡ 14 products is so good!! I’m almost ready to make another post, too, I think. Maybe more of discards over empties though. 😕

Honestly girl, that’s why I got it until I got home I was like, “wait, this is a different brand”. But I wanted to give it a shot anyway you never know. But yeah, disappointing lol
Oh yes RT all the way, their brushes are supposed to be really amazing too but I found them a bit pricey even for drugstore brushes. I should really get one just to have it though. A stipple brush maybe for my powder foundation.
Thanks! I hope I find it. The one I’m currently using isnt working out for me either. Well it is and it isnt. I find that I have to spend a good 5 mins trying to make it work, like really work in each coat but it’s like a 3 step thing with lash fibers so idk. I thought it would be really good but eh. It’s too much work lol
Omg now that you mention it I need to discard a bunch of things again lol. I cant believe it because I feel like I JUST did one in January? Lol
Cant wait to see your empties!

Lol aw well yeah, you never know until you try it, right? I would love to try some Real Techniques brushes, too. They look super nice! That mascara you’re using does sound a bit too much! Hopefully the next one is a winner. 🙂
