July 2019 Boxycharm Review

Heyy dolls!

Today I’m sharing mini reviews of the July Boxycharm box as I get ready to do an unboxing of this month’s as well. It’s been a LONG week for me and I haven’t gotten to film as much so it seems like maybe I will be decreasing the amount I post or…..I don’t know… Maybe I’ll call it a break for a bit while I figure it out LOL. We shall see, either way, I’ll let you all know! πŸ™‚

Luxie
Gaea 3 Piece Brush Set

boxycharm_july2019_luxie

Quick Description:

Create the perfect look with you new, eco-friendly LUXIE brush set. Apply foundation with the Luxie 510 foundation brush, blend you eyeshadow with the Luxie 250 Large Eye Blending brush and precisely apply color to your crease with the Luxie 246 Precision Crease brush.

Mini Product Review:

I never have anything bad to say about Luxie, honestly. Their brushes are some of my all-time favorite, and the fact that they’re CF makes them even better. I was a bit skeptical that the white bristles would get stained when I used the blue shade in the Butter London palette, but when I washed all my brushes I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did no stain at all! I hope that regardless of what palette I use, the bristles don’t get stained, but other than that, I love the wooden handle, super chic, definitely different and unique and totally hits the nail on “natural”.

Cruelty Free? Yes!

Koh Gen Do
Spa Cleansing Water Cloths

boxycharm_july2019_kohgendo

Quick Description:

These convenient cotton Cleansing Spa Water Clothes remove waterproof makeup and impurities while nourishing skin with mineral-rich cleansing spa water.

Mini Product Review:

These cleansing water cloths were SO GOOD! I have never tried anything better than the Simple Skin ones, which are amazing btw. These are a bit pricey and you only get 10 for $17, so you can say you’re almost paying $2 for each, but they’re really great you guys! They removed a ful face of makeup without a problem, the cloth felt super soft and gentle on the skin, they’re worth it to try at least once!

Cruelty Free? YES and 100% VEGAN!

LunaΒ by Luna
Lip Gloss inΒ Venus

boxycharm_july2019_lunabyluna

Quick Description:

Prepare for an expertly pigmented lip gloss that delivers high shine with long-lasting color, while delivering the look of fuller lips. This non-sticky gloss formula applies on smoothly and won’t drip.

Mini Product Review:

I don’t know how to feel about this product, mainly the shade I guess. The lip gloss formula is actually quite good, and I was 50/50 on the fact that it’s so pigmented, for a lip gloss.

boxycharm_july2019_lunabyluna_swatch.jpg

Personally, I’m not a fan of the shade and I don’t think it’s a shade I would ever wear on my own, especially for lip gloss, but aside from that, everything is good about it, and it still looks nice on the lips.

Cruelty Free? Yes!

Elemis
Superfood Vital Veggie Mask

boxycharm_july2019_elemis

Quick Description:

Get a shot of green goodness with this treatment mask that nourishes, smoothes and brightens, for softer, smoother, more radiant skin.

Mini Product Review:

I loved this since the first time I used it, it’s honestly such a great mask! It smells so wonderful, and exactly what I imagined “green beauty” to smell like. It applied super smoothly onto my skin and it left it feeling smooth as well. Obviously I can’t say if it has made my skin brighter as I would have to use it for longer AND I’m also using other products that might have the same effect, but I’m really loving this mask and how it made my skin feel. Perfect for the summer!

Cruelty Free? YES!

Whether you’re feeling like a dive or a temptress, these cruelty-free shadows pair effortlessly to create imaginative looks that will make a powerful entrance.

Mini Product Review:

I was going to do some looks for you guys but I didn’t end up making anything special. I was also not loving the palette the first time but after careful consideration, I feel like this palette deserves a bit more than I’m giving it lol.

For starters, this is not the kind of palette I would ever buy for myself. You all know how particular I am when it comes to balancing shimmers and mattes and this palette isn’t it. I don’t think having a blue shade redeems it either. HOWEVER, despite what I just said, the palette is very high quality. I also think this palette hit the “Natural Goddess” theme very well and the color story of the palette definitely leans on the natural side. All the shimmers can be worn alone or with the other two matte shades and still look beautiful.

boxycharm_july2019_butterlondon_swatches

I was concerned that I would have to reach for other palettes if I need different shades, so in that sense, this palette isn’t for me. However, as I keep saying, the palette is great, formula is great, if you like more natural looks this palette it’s probably for you and it doesn’t have the annoying gold eyeshadows that you see in EVERY “natural” palette. This palette is more earthy/watery, which I love.

That being said, the mattes aren’t the best, Temptress is a bit patchy and Femme Fatale isn’t as pigmented or as bright as it looks in the pan which is why I was a bit disappointed. The shimmers are winners and one of my favorite shades is Star which is a bit olive and goes with my skin tone perfectly. Honestly, I’d say this palette is quite nice for a wide range of skin tones.

Cruelty Free? Yes!

  1. Those brushes are so pretty, and the Spa cloths sound great to remove a full face of makeup. For that quality I’d totally be happy to pay $17. I so want to try that Veggie mask and I actually think that eyeshadow palette has quite a cool range of colours. It’s quite a random mix but I like the look of that blue and the green-y (Star) shade. I’ve never seen a palette with that type of mix before! Also I love the little rhyme there – β€˜the shimmers are winners’ so cute hehe! And it’s so fab that all these products are CF. I’m totally excited to see your next unboxing! Thanks for sharing Rossy, enjoy the rest of your week xxx

    1. As always, I cannot complain about Luxie brushes, they’re simply the best!
these spa cloths are the best I’ve ever tried!! I was so shocked that they removed ALL of my makeup! I would totally splurge for these too.
the veggies mask felt really soothing on the skin and it definitely smoothed my skin out when I washed it off. Such a nice treat.
And I’m still 50/50 on the eyeshadow palette, yeah it does have some gorgeous shades but not sure how often I will reach for this palette, so maybe… I will give it to my mom LOL
hahah shimmers are winners, I almost forgot I wrote that LMAO
thanks for stopping by lovee! my next box will be my last! T_T

  2. Those cleansing cloths sound so good! I don’t mind paying a little more for good ones, I’ve tried waaaay too many bad cleansing cloths lately. Did your Luna by Luna gloss smell normal? Mine had such a strong plastic smell that I couldn’t bring myself to use it.

    1. I loved them so much! I havent tried other cleansing wipes that are as good as these.
I didnt notice a smell on mine? Maybe I should go check just in case i missed it.

  3. Ooh yay, nice to know the bristles on the brushes don’t stain. I love the wooden handles, too! Super chic & pretty. πŸ™‚ I would have loved to try those face wipes but yeah, probably wouldn’t buy them at full price. They sure sound nice though!

The lipgloss looks kind of orange to me! I actually like it 😜 I bet it looks nice on ya!

Shame about the patchy shades in the palette. I am in love with the packaging but haven’t touched it at all yet! The olive, blue, & peachy shades look gorgeous.

Can’t wait to see your August Boxy & Sept Luxe!

    1. I know! I worry because some cheaper white bristle brushes have gotten stained lol.
Yeah the wipes are nice but definitely something youd splurge on if you were serious about having something like that as backup lol
Now that you mention it and I’ve gone back to see the swatch, it does seem to have a bit of an orange undertone. Idk. I’ll have to try it on my lips again to see but either way I dont remember liking it as much lol
The blue shade is disappointing to be honest. At least to me I expected it to be brighter than it looked on the eyes. Oh well

      1. Yeah like the WnW ones, right??

I’m still a bit bummed I missed out on the wipes lol. Sorry you didn’t like the lippie much but it does have a bit of an orange undertone, right?!

Dang! So sad to hear about the blue shade. I used the gold one today & I liked it but of course, it’s a shimmer one.

        1. Yeah! They have good brushes but they get stained so easily lol
Ah it’s cool. I’m sure I’ll get some use out of the lippie, otherwise I can give it to my mom or something. Idk.
The shimmers are the best in that palette. Loved them myself, better than the mattes at least. The mattes seemed a bit patchy

          1. Well that sucks! I dont remember it creasing on me, maybe I didnt pay enough attention. Either way I kind of expected it to be like really good but it was mediocre at best lmao

          2. I’m not getting Boxycharm this month but I just got my Ipsy Plus today. πŸ™‚ I hope your box comes SOON if you still haven’t got it & fingers crossed you get the item you were hoping for!! ❀

  4. Wow, this seems like a really great box! Love that those bristles don’t stain. That would be such a shame for the pretty brushes! Love the wooden handles too. You’re right that it’s a natural chic style. ❀
Those cleansing cloths are expensive, my goodness! O.O I'm sure they are great, but wow. I always just get the makeup wipes from the Walmart brand, lol! (Though I actually want to buy a reusable makeup cloth from Amazon to cut back on disposable ones.)
That mask sounds sooo nice. Love that it is infused with veggies, that has to be wonderful for your skin!
    Thanks for sharing. ❀

    1. Yeah it was decent. The August box blew my mind a bit and I already saw spoilers for the luxe this month I’m so so so excited to get it too! I’m really hoping for specific items otherwise I’ll be fuming!!
Yeah the brushes are legit, then again they ARE luxie, they never let me down.
If your looking for makeup removing towels, you can sometimes find them at Marshall’s or Ross. That’s where I found mine. I really should get another though. I believe Ulta has some as well. I’m gonna do a ton of research to make sure I get a good one again lol.
I know right?! Clean beauty is the way to go these days but sadly the brands are super expensive.

      1. If you do end doing a bunch of research about makeup removing towels, I’d love to know what you end up finding out. That’s a good idea to look at Marshall’s or Ross! I just want to make sure whatever I can get can remove waterproof mascara.
