Hii dolls!
Ah yes, finally reviewing this lovely product. The last product I purchased from the Sailor Moon collection, the prettiest pastel palette I own, the Pretty Guardian Pressed Powder Palette! I have been so excited to share my thoughts with you after trying everything out. Don’t forget I also have reviews for the Cat’s Eye blush and the Daylight Lip Bundle.

Packaging & Cost Breakdown
Firstly, the packaging: so gorgeous! A lot of people complained that it was only Sailor Moon (Usagi) and that it would have been nice if the other scouts were included. However, that doesn’t seem like something that would happen in the foreseeable future.
Regardless, the packaging alone made me want to buy this even if the product was awful. I grew up watching Sailor Moon and couldn’t pass this up. The outer packaging is the loveliest shade of pink and is stunning. The palette itself is made of cardboard, no mirror included.
I do love the front of the palette which has a lenticular image, so reminiscent of my time growing up. Very iconic. And of course on the inside, we see the shades with the name of each one right underneath. Love the little gold moons.
This palette retails for $20.00 USD, which is just $2.00 USD more than the rest of their 12-pan palettes and $8.00 USD more than their 9-pan palettes for comparison. This palette contains 12 pans and has a net weight of 14.20 grams (or 0.5 oz). That brings the cost per pan to $1.67 USD and cost per gram to $1.40 USD.
Formula & Application
I was really impressed with how well the shades wore throughout the day. Initially, I imagined some shades to be pretty light, but in reality they were more pigmented than I expected. Even though that’s the case, they are very buildable so you can easily control the color on your lids if you use a light hand.
There are some shades in this palette that can be used all over the lid for a quick look, as well as over other shades to make them really pop (Silver Crystal, Full Moon, Silver Millenium, Mare Serenitatis). Even though Twilight Flash and Moon Castle are the only neutral satin shades, they can be built up and used alongside the rosier shades and purple ones to create a nice blended look.
I usually have trouble blending out shimmery shades but was pleasantly surprised that I was able to do that so well with these. All of them blend effortlessly into one another. The only one I had trouble with was the pressed glitter, Mare Serenatatis. I had to use glitter primer with it. It was hard to distribute the glitter properly without it getting all bunched up in one place, if you know what I mean. It looked far better when applied lightly than packed on, but then it looks more like shimmer or metallic than a glitter.
Love and Miracle Romance feel drier whereas Justice and Tuxedo Rose feel much softer. Even though they’re different in formula, they apply the same way: easily and effortlessly. Not to mention they are so pigmented and I love them!
Shade Breakdown & Swatches
I’m really happy with the color story, it ranges from wearable to colorful, sunset like colors that can be worn in different ways and I had loads of fun playing with them all. I cannot chose a favorite shade, but the bottom row is definitely full of favorites. I did use two stencils, but I like the first one better as you’ll see below because you can see the shades better. However, I got a gorgeous photo with the second stencil under direct sunlight that was too good to not share. You’ll see it at the very end. 😉

Overall, this palette was not only gorgeous and iconic in terms of packaging, I was very impressed with the palette itself. The shades were pigmented and buildable and I loved how well they performed on the eyes. I sure hope they consider creating palettes around the other scouts, that would be something to see!
Here is the picture under direct sunlight I was talking about.
Some shades really shine, I wish I had used the other stencil for this shot!

Ahh!!! The lenticular image of her with the heart eyes is adorable. I LOVE IT. I totally think it’s worth paying a little extra since you’re right, the entire collection is just so iconic. I’m so happy to read that the formula wasn’t lacking just because they knew it would sell too! & the looks you chose to feature were some of my faves, too. 😍 The swatches under direct sunlight photo at the end really does make those shades shine!
